As I walked out of my room, I wondered where to go. The only place I knew was the courtyard Liam had shown me yesterday. I decided to head there, hoping to find some breakfast or maybe even Liam.
As I walked, I noticed a door opposite my room. I wondered if it might be Liam's office. I pushed the door open, and my eyes widened in shock.
A blonde man was making out with a girl on the couch. I felt my face heat up with embarrassment. "Oh, sorry! Excuse me, I didn't know..." I stuttered, trying to back away.
But he pushed the girl away and stood up, a sly grin spreading across his face.
"Wait, wait, wait! What do we have here?"
He walked towards me, his eyes scanning me up and down.
"You're new around here, aren't you?"
He asked, his voice low and flirtatious.
"You're not a wolf, though. You don't smell like one." He leaned in closer, his nose inches from my neck.
I rolled my eyes, trying to push him away, do all wolves sniff people?
"Personal space, please!" I said,
But he just chuckled and grabbed my hand. "Oh, come on! I'm just trying to be friendly!"
Just then, I heard a low growl behind me. "Get your hands off her," Liam's voice said, his tone firm and commanding. I turned around surprised to see Liam, I didn't even notice him behind me
Mr blonde raised his hands, a mock innocent expression on his face. "Chill, bro! I was just introducing myself!"
Liam's eyes narrowed. "Axel, this is Amelia She's my mate ." He emphasized the last word, his eyes warning Axel to behave.
Axel's grin returned. "Well, well, well! Amelia, huh? Let's get to know each other better, shall we?"
He offered me his arm, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
I hesitated, unsure of what to do. But then Liam stepped forward, his eyes flashing with annoyance. "Axel, leave her alone. Amelia, come with me."
"Comon!!! You just found your mate a little bonding won't hurt" I heard Axel scream from behind us
I scurried my feet to keep up with pace why was he so upset?
"umm, who was he? You guys seem close "
He stopped abruptly making my face hit his hard back
"Ow!!, what was that for?" I muttered while rubbing my nose
"What were you doing wandering around?!"He turned I could see the anger in his eyes. He was upset? About what?
" ummm was looking for you and breakfast, and I didn't know anywhere so..." I could feel his tense shoulders visibly relax and he sighed out loud
"wolves are feral animals, Amelia, they could harm you, you donât go anywhere you are unfamiliar with for now at least until I mark you "
"Mark me?? Like biting and stuff ?" I asked taking a step back and wondering why I even agreed to come with him in the first place
He chuckled lowly and ran his hands across his hair
"no, come let me show you around "
As we walked through the pack's territory, Liam pointed out various large buildings and introduced me to different pack members. Some were a little judgy and making weird faces, probably because I was human but some were welcoming, I couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed.
We passed by the communal kitchen, where the delicious smell of roasting meat wafted through the air, making my stomach growl with hunger. He grabbed a skewer and handed it to me.
Liam chuckled and led me to the training grounds, where a group of young wolves were practicing their combat skills, it was an open field, and seeing wolves fight and some in half-wolf form made me a bit uneasy.
Liam seemed to sense my unease, he placed a reassuring hand on my back.
"Hey, it's okay,"
he said softly. "You'll get used to it. Just take your time."
His large hands on my back made me remember the kiss of yesterday and heat immediately rushed to my cheeks
"good afternoon alpha," the pack nurse said breaking me out of my thoughts
He nodded at her and held my waist leading me forward
Eventually, we made our way to a beautiful spot overlooking a serene lake. We stood there in comfortable silence, watching the sun dance across the water.
"This is my favorite place, in the pack" he said breaking the silence
"It's off-bounds for pack members"
"Am I a bad kisser ?" I asked, turning to face him and trying to catch him off guard
"No" he folded his hands and looked at me with the most unreadable expression
I took a deep breath, my heart pounding in my chest. "What happened last night...the kiss...was .., I know I wanted to take things slowly but .."
I was cut off by a kiss, it was different from yesterday He was claiming and possessive it was he was trying to let the beast he was trying to hide out. I had never been kissed the way this man kissed me.
He wrapped his hands around my neck, holding me gently in place., as his tongue stroked my mouth with a slow, sensual rhythm.
As he kissed me, I felt his power and dominance. His strong frame enveloped my smaller one, making me feel safe and protected.
My hands instinctively grasped his forearms, feeling the muscles beneath my fingertips. His kiss deepened, and my body responded, my heart racing and my breath quickening.
Every stroke of his tongue sent shivers through me, overwhelming my senses with his potent masculinity.
I could feel my body reacting in a way I never knew it could as I went to put my hands on his neck, a loud shrill scared me and I stepped back.
