Chapter 4 My Husband's first love

Samantha's POV

The dark green dress hugs my features as I prepare to head to the jewel auction party.

The loud doorbell interrupts my thoughts, I frown, the maid will get it, but the anticipation to find out who that is pushes me outside.

The maid pulls the door open and a woman stands there with a wide smile on her face.

"Excuse me? Who are you?" The maid calls out but she pushes her to the side dragging her bags into the mansion.

Her eyes meet mine at the top of the stairs.

"You must be Samantha" she sends me a coy smile, a driver walks in after her with more bags

I raise a brow at that, "Excuse me but who are you and what are you doing in my home?" I frown walking down the stairs to meet with her

"I am Kira of course, your husband's first love" she struts, her fingers on her hips with a sly smile on her face, her eyes burning with intensity.

"I...I don't understand" I whisper, coming face to face with her, "What do you mean by my husband's first love?"

"Liam of course, or don't you know who you married?" She turns around to the maid, "Take my bags upstairs to the guest bedroom" she instructs like she owns the place, her heels clank on the wooden floorboards as she walks into the living room.

"Hey!! I still don't know who you are. And you have no right to take your bags anywhere" I narrow my eyes at her

"Oh I do, you will be surprised at the amount of power I have over this mansion and Liam" she calls out his name sweetly like two lovers.

"I have to call Liam," I turn away from her, annoyance on my face, who could this woman be? And why is she acting like she owns this place? Like she owns Liam.

I don't have to call him when the door to the foyer is pushed open, and Liam walks in, his eyes meeting with mine.

"I can see you are ready" he smirks his eyes moving across my body, sending shivers down my spine.

"Liam!!" Kira's voice fills the foyer as she squeals out his name happily

His eyes widen, filling with happiness, something I have never witnessed in the ten months of our marriage.

"Kira!!" He yells out as she walks past me hitting me slightly as she moves me to the side

The two pull themselves into a tight hug, and I watch on like a bystander witnessing some love story.

"What are you doing here? It's been so long" he says his eyes shining with his smile as he looks down at her.

A sad smile covers her features, "I had to finish up some paperwork for Xander you know" She turns around to spot me.

"I can see you finally got over your fears of commitment" She turns to him with an innocent smile.

"What do you mean?" I frown at the words coming out of my mouth before I can stop them.

"Liam and I dated a long time ago, for a very long time in fact but he was so scared of commitment" She turns back to him with a smile caressing his cheek.

"I was young and silly" he shakes his head with a frown, like if he could turn back time he would.

I sigh watching them interact, a smile covering his face anytime she speaks, her fingers caressing his chest and chin and he doesn't stop her.

Jealousy builds within me and I narrow my eyes at them, "Liam we have to go to the party" I say with a stern voice.

"Oh" he nods, "Well Kira and I have a lot to catch up on, why don't you go ahead and I will meet you there" he turns back to Kira with a fond smile, his eyes narrowed at me.

I sigh, folding my hands to my side in anger, is he really going to stay here with her rather than go out with his wife?

"Yeah we have a lot of catching up to do, I am here to take care of Liam" she smirks turning to me slightly but her eyes move back to Liam as they share a fond smile

"Take care of Liam? I am his wife, I take care of him!" I narrow my eyes at her, my tone filled with annoyance.

"Take care of Liam? You are a trophy wife for all I know, right Liam?" She turns to him with a pout on her lips

He nods, placing his fingers on her lower back as they enter the next living room, leaving me in their dust.

"And Sam? Direct the maids to take her bags to the guest bedroom, the largest one, I want Kira to be comfortable during her entire stay here" he says promptly walking into the room with her as they share laughter with one another

Tears fill my eyes but I don't let them fall, my lips quiver and my entire body shivers with jealousy, are they a thing? Will Liam cheat on me now with her appearance?

I sigh while walking outside, watching the maid and guards pull her bags up, filling me with annoyance but I have to head to the auction or Liam's mother will be severely annoyed at me.

I slip into the car, the driver starting the drive, my mind reels back to Kira and Liam's interaction, a lump growing in my throat, what if they were having sex right now? What if he was cheating on me right now and here I was in this car heading out for a party, leaving them alone to have their fun?

I gulp, my heart pumping wildly in my chest, "Driver, turn the car around" I gulp, anxiety filling me, I just want to see what they are up to, I just need to calm myself down

I frown to myself, my hand running through my hair nervously as the car comes to a stop In front of the mansion, my veins fill with adrenaline as I push the entrance door open.

I hear giggles, followed by deep laughter from Liam, one thing I have never heard during the entirety of our marriage, no matter how much I showed him care and love, he never responded to me and now here he is laughing loudly with a woman who claims to be his first love?

My eyes meets with a sight in the living room, Kira relaxed on the chair and Liam standing in front of her, his fingers on her waist pulling her closer and the other at the back of her neck, in an almost kiss.

Her eyes meet with mine a sly smirk on her lips, she shuts her eyes reaching up to kiss him but she halts, "Sam, what are you doing back here?" She calls out loudly and dramatically causing Liam to turn around, his shocked eyes meeting with my tear-filled ones.
