But when the older members of the Tiau family called her into their meeting and made known their intentions, Gu Min feels that she should fight against Billy like the older Tiau family members wanted.
"We know that you must be feeling guilty for what your mother has done," Billy's grand-aunt said to Gu Min. "We all know that what your mother did to her brother is very wrong, but she is still a Tiau, and as a Tiau, we cannot leave her in that shallow place," Billy's grand-aunt adds.
Gu Min, who bowed her head in shame, looked up to the grand-aunt, surprised at what she said.
"Not even now that Billy thinks everything in the Tiau family belongs to him only and keeps doing as he wanted. We will not allow that," the grand-aunt continues.
"I heard that he got engaged to the girl my brother was against, now that his grandfather is dead. He did not bother to tell or invite any of the Tiau family," the grand-aunt looks pissed as she talks.
"We cannot allow Billy to do things his way anymore. He's just a kid and cannot use his childishness to destroy the Tiau family," the grand-aunt continues.
"We have to stop him. And I need your mother to do that, and you too," the grand-aunt said and sighed.
"Though you are not really from the Tiau family, but you are both the grandchildren of the Tiau family. You have equal rights with Billy. He cannot just take everything that belongs to the Tiau family that has been built for decades because my brother gave them to him," the grand-aunt continues.
"I was just quiet initially because I feel pity for him for losing both his parents at a young age and also his grandfather too. But he has gone overboard by getting engaged to that no-name girl and even gave part of the Tiaz company's shares to the girl's parents, which his dead grandfather clearly went against," the grand-aunt said and sighed.
"I will not let that happen at all. It's either he leaves the girl or leaves everything that belongs to the Tiau family," the grand-aunt said, looking serious.
Gu Min looks really surprised to hear everything their grand-aunt said. She and her father have felt powerless ever since her mother went to prison, and their grandfather's will stated that all the properties should be given to Billy.
But now that their grand-aunt seems to be in support of her and her mother, Gu Min feels happy and alive after a long time.
After what her mother did to Billy's father was revealed, she could no longer go out in public because people talk about what her mother did and point fingers at her.
But now that she hears what their grand-aunt said, she feels it's all Billy's fault, and she has to meet up with the standard of what their grand-aunt wants.
"I will see to it that your mother comes out of prison," the grand-aunt tells Gu Min, which makes her so happy.
"Grand-aunt, are you telling the truth?" Gu Min could not hide her happiness.
"What did you mean by am I telling the truth? I was only letting things be, which was why I did not interfere with everything that happened. My brother died suddenly, and I got to know that Tiau Zi killed her own brother," the grand-aunt said and continues.
"But now I cannot just hold back since Billy chose to be so childish. Not only did he get engaged with that no-name girl, but he also went against his grandfather's wish and all the Tiau family altogether. How can I let that go?" the grand-aunt adds.
"Though I have not forgiven your mother for what she did to her brother, but she is from the Tiau family; she cannot be left alone. So you should prepare to take your mother's position to fight for what belongs to you as a grandchild of the Tiau family. I will make sure to support you, just do as I say," the grand-aunt tells Gu Min.
"Grand-aunt, what of Billy's other grandfather?" You know he is so powerful and influential too," Gu Min asks worriedly.
She knows that if it was not for Billy's maternal grandfather, the company would have been taken away from Billy, but since his maternal grandfather intervened, they were unable to do anything.
"What are you saying? Do you mean I will not be able to do anything to Billy because of his maternal grandfather?" the grand-aunt replies and smirks.
"His maternal grandfather is just his maternal grandfather, and the Tiau family is the Tiau family. You need not worry about those things, I told you I will take care of everything. Just follow my lead, did you understand?" the grand-aunt tells Gu Min.
The grand-aunt also knows that there is Billy's maternal grandfather, but she has thought about how to handle everything without getting Billy's maternal grandfather involved, since she knows how powerful Billy's maternal grandfather is.
"Alright, grand-aunt, I will do according to everything that you wanted," Gu Min said and happily hugs the grand-aunt.
Gu Min is so happy that her mother will finally be released from prison. She knows that their grand-aunt will not say what she cannot do. Since she said she will do it, then she will do it.
Which was why Gu Min finds out about where Billy is and confronts him to give him a heads-up.
After Gu Min left the restaurant where she met with Billy, she went to visit her mother at the prison.
"Mom," Gu Min calls as the officer brings out her mother.
"Gu Min, why are you here?" Tiau Zi asks, surprised to see her. She already told Gu Min not to come visit her anymore.
"Mom, I think you will be coming out of prison soon," Gu Min tells her mother.
Tiau Zi looks at Gu Min confused. "What did you mean by that?" Tiau asks curiously. She had tried everything she knew, but she could not get a way to get out from the prison.
"Grand+ aunt called me," Gu Min tells her.
"Aunt!" Tiau Zi knows that there seems to be hope for her when she hears that her aunt called Gu Min.
"Tell me in details what aunt said to you," Tiau Zi gets more anxious.
Gu Min explained everything to her mother and all her grand-aunt said to her. When Tiau Zi listens to all Gu Min explains, she looks really happy and relieved.
"Finally, I will get to leave here soon," Tiau Zi said smiling.
"Yes, mom, I can't wait for you to get out of this place," Gu Min said to her excited.
"Tell your father to come visit me," Tiau Zi said to Gu Min.
Gu Min looks at her mother curiously, wondering why she wants her father to come visit her.
"There is something I have to do before leaving this place," Tiau Zi said and looks forward to what she had to do.
