Chapter 5 Is she unfamiliar with me

-Evelyn's POV

"Wake up sleepy butt!" I scream at Cami as she enters her room and tears off the blankets.

"Sunshine, get out of my room." She lets out a moan into her pillow. "You're the one with a date today, not me."

I give her an eye roll. She wanted to know every detail of what happened when I contacted her yesterday to come get me from the hospital. I filled her in on Leo and the little cutie. I assured her that I was okay, but she called me a fool for jumping in. In addition, I informed her that I had agreed to meet with him today, so now I'm attempting to wake her up.

"Come on, Cami, get up!" She doesn't move when I try to get her to do so again.

"You're flying alone, H. "Leave me to sleep." She exaggerates by cramming her face into a pillow and turning back onto her stomach. I walk to my bedroom to get ready after huffing. Since I misplaced my beloved pair of sunglasses yesterday, I put on my green one-piece swimsuit and looked for another pair.

After locking up, I start to stroll in the direction of the beach where I met Leo yesterday. I didn't run today, so it took me a little longer. Ethan and Leo are already outside, surveying the area as I get close enough to the little cove. Ethan rushes to me as soon as he sees me. I spread my arms wide and gave him a tight hug while spinning him around. I pause and set him down on his feet as he giggles.

"I didn't know if you were going to come." He continues to smile at me.

"I made a deal, lil man." I put my hands on my hips and said that. Taking my hand, he begins to return to his own beach. I see Leo, and when I see another person approaching us, I wave at him. He is built, toned, and quite attractive, I can tell you that. I stop drooling and let Ethan pull me along. When he suddenly stops with a startled expression on his face, the Greek deity sees me.

"You!" He continues to stare at me as though I were a ghost.

"Dad, wake up!"

My son rushes in and jumps on me. I called my assistant to inform her that I would not be returning to work yesterday or today after leaving yesterday afternoon. When my kid informed me that his angel would be spending the day with him, my desire for some time with him was short-lived. Then, I suppose, I will get to meet this woman. I moan as he leaps on me.

"Alright, Ethan, I'm up." I raise my hands in submission as I speak.

"Come on, Dad, Angel will be here anytime." Running back out of the room, he says. I put on a pair of sunglasses, change into some swimming trunks, and get up. My youngster is already running outside when I descend the stairs. Knowing that my son is so excited, which is not something he does frequently, makes me grin.

"Sir, Natasha rang and said she would be coming by later today." As I make my way to the rear door, Tessa says. One of the women who is amazing in bed is Natasha. I wonder why she is visiting when she is aware that we are just fuck buddies. I give Tessa a little nod before leaving. Leo is seated on the sand, looking around as my son does.

I turn to see a familiar shape approaching my son. Holy Fuck! The woman from the club is here. She has straight hair that falls to her hips. She looks amazing even if she is only wearing one piece. When he sees her, my son immediately runs in her direction. I saw her reach out and take my son in her arms. He gives her a tight hug and spins around. The sight of them together makes my heart sing. My son is beaming broadly. My son was saved because of her! How likely is that to happen?

I watch as she puts my son on his feet and he converses with her for a moment before yanking her suddenly in the direction of our beach. I start walking once more till I get to them. She won't leave my son.

"You!" I say it a bit louder than I meant to.

"I'm sorry?" Her voice is filled with bewilderment. I give her a headshake.

"Angel, come make a castle with me!" Pulling at her hand, Ethan murmurs. Before they dash down the beach, I see her grinning down at my son. I can't take my eyes off of her. She is so beautiful, and I want to do all the things she does to her body. She is not even looking at me as she plays with my son. The fact that she doesn't even seem to care that most people would kill for time with me irritates me a little. She is just focused on my son, which further perplexes me. "Dad, come build with us!"

I turn to face them and shake my head. I apologize, but I don't think we were introduced. Lucian Carrington is who I am. I extend my hand to give her a handshake. After glancing at me, she gets up and extends her hand to shake mine. I hold her tiny, gentle hand in mine.

"Hi, I'm Evelyn Carter." I'm hesitant to release her hand. Evelyn is a lovely name.

"I wanted to thank you for rescuing my son yesterday." I immediately miss her hand as she withdraws it.

"I would have done it for anyone but your welcome." Grinning at me, she says. Seeing her grin at me makes my heart sing. She turns to face my son, who is constructing the castle. "You appear somewhat recognizable. Have we met before?

I give her a sly smile. "I would hope so; I own one of the biggest companies on this side of the country."

"No, that's not it."

I grin. Even though I just told her that I was loaded, she doesn't seem to care. It doesn't appear to bother her in the least. Who in the world is unfamiliar with me?

"You seriously don't know who I am?"

"Am I supposed to?" She asked, staring at me bewildered. My mouth drops-she truly doesn't know. She raises her hand in an attempt to recall where she saw me, but she is unable to do so. "In any case, I'm glad to have met you.

"Angel, help me." Pulling on her hand is what my son says. She takes a seat and starts assisting my son. Why am I jealous of my five-year-old son?

"What are we doing, lil man?" Little man? Has she given my son a nickname?

"Dad, help us!" My son's words force me to stop thinking and sit down next to him.

I steal glimpses at the beauty in front of me as the afternoon passes. To my additional amazement, she continues to concentrate on my son. I learned that this week she will begin working as a teacher at Dalton Academy. To get my son transferred to her class, I will need to give the school a call. We kept up our courteous discussion, but she was quite private about the facts she wanted to share with me. She has secrets, but I intend to uncover them. I was even more shocked when she didn't appear impressed when I told her more about myself. I thought she might jump at me, but she didn't. She's behaving like I'm just another person. My son has been laughing and smiling all day, which is just another amazing thing to witness. It's unbelievable that he is as enamored of her as I am. I am reminded of her purity by the aura that surrounds her. This day I didn't want to finish.
