Chapter 5 A DESPERATE PLEA

Early morning Rose woke up feeling tired and emotionally drained. She had hoped that Aaron would be back by her side, but he wasn't. She quickly got dressed and rushed to her sister's house, desperate to share her pain with someone she trusted.

Riley was shocked as she listened to Rose's account of the previous night's events. She tried to counsel Rose, to calm her down and offer words of reassurance, but Rose was beyond consolation. She was still consumed by her desire to have a child, and her desperation was palpable.

As Riley tried to reason with her, a ridiculous thought entered Rose's head. It was a thought that she knew was crazy, but she couldn't shake it off. She took a deep breath and dropped the bombshell:

"Riley, I want you to do something for me," Rose said, her voice trembling with emotion. "I want you to sleep with Aaron and have my child."

Riley's eyes widened in shock as she stared at Rose. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She stood up, her hands shaking as she looked at her sister.

"Rose, what are you talking about?" Riley asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "This is insane. You can't be serious."

But Rose was dead serious. She was willing to do anything to have a child, even if it meant asking her sister to sleep with her husband.

Riley's shock turned to anger as she stared at Rose. "I know I said I would be there for you and do anything for you, but not this, Rose!" Riley exclaimed, her voice shaking with rage. "Sleeping with your husband? Have you gone nuts?"

Riley burst into tears, feeling insulted and betrayed by her sister's request. "I don't blame you for thinking you can order me around like a child," Riley sobbed. "After all, you're the one living the dream life. You're the one with the perfect husband and the perfect house. But that doesn't give you the right to ask me to do something so disgusting!"

Rose, realizing too late that she had gone too far, begged Riley to forgive her. "Riley, please, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm just desperate for a child!"

But Riley was unforgiving. "Get out of my house, Rose!" Riley shouted, her anger and hurt boiling over. "I don't want to see your face right now. You need to leave!"

Rose, still begging for forgiveness, refused to leave. Riley, fed up with her sister's antics, had to physically push Rose out of the house. As Rose stumbled out onto the porch, Riley slammed the door shut behind her, locking it for good measure.

The two sisters stood on opposite sides of the door, both of them crying and hurting. Rose realized too late that she had crossed a line, one that she might never be able to uncross.

The silence between the two sisters was deafening. Rose stood on the porch, her eyes fixed on the closed door, willing Riley to open it and forgive her. But the door remained shut, a physical barrier between the two sisters.

As the minutes ticked by, Rose's anger and frustration gave way to despair. She had never felt so alone, so rejected. She slid down the wall, her body wracked with sobs.

Inside the house, Riley was equally distraught. She had never felt so hurt, so betrayed. She paced back and forth, trying to calm herself down, but her anger and resentment lingered.

As the hours passed, the silence between the two sisters grew thicker, a chasm that seemed impossible to bridge. Rose finally got up and walked away, disappearing into the night, leaving Riley to wonder if their relationship would ever be the same again.

Days turned into weeks, and the two sisters barely spoke to each other. Rose was consumed by her own guilt and regret, while Riley was still nursing her hurt and anger.

Aaron, sensing the tension between the two sisters, tried to stay out of it. He knew that Rose had crossed a line, but he also knew that she was desperate and hurting.

As the rift between the two sisters grew wider, Aaron realized that he had to do something to bring them back together.

Weeks turned into months, and the rift between the two sisters seemed irreparable. Riley couldn't shake off the feeling of betrayal and hurt, while Rose was consumed by guilt and regret.

But as time passed, Riley began to ponder on what Rose had asked her to do. She couldn't believe that her own sister would ask her to sleep with her husband, but at the same time, she couldn't help but feel a twisted sense of curiosity.

One day, Riley found herself picking up the phone and dialing Rose's number. Rose answered on the first ring, her voice hesitant and unsure.

"Riley?" Rose said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm so sorry... I don't know what I was thinking..."

But Riley cut her off, her voice firm and resolute. "Rose, I've been thinking... and I've decided to do it."

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, Riley wondered if she had made a mistake.

"Do what?" Rose asked finally, her voice laced with hesitation.

Riley took a deep breath before answering. "I'll sleep with Aaron... and have your child."

The line went silent again, and Riley wondered if she had just made the biggest mistake of her life.

Rose's voice was barely audible on the other end of the line. "Riley, are you sure? I don't want you to do something you'll regret."

Riley's resolve faltered for a moment, but she pushed on. "I'm positive, Rose. I'll do this for you, for us, for our family."

The line remained silent for what felt like an eternity. Riley wondered if Rose had hung up on her, but then she heard a faint whisper.

"Thank you, Riley. Thank you for doing this for me."

Riley felt a shiver run down her spine as she realized the enormity of what she had just agreed to. She was going to sleep with her sister's husband, and bear his child.

As the days went by, Riley and Rose began to make arrangements for the unthinkable.

Riley couldn't shake off the feeling that she was trapped in a web of deceit, one that threatened to consume her very soul. But she was determined to see it through, no matter the cost.
