Chapter 5( Dying wish)

Amelia's eyes widened in surprise as she stood dumbfounded and helpless, it was as if she'd been punched right in the stomach as she wished for the ground beneath to open up and take her down, the biggest frightening moment she had been waiting for was happening right now, what would Fergus think of her now?

Fergus on the other hand shockingly pulled out the grip he had on Mrs Fraser and stood up and looked in Amelia's direction which caused her heart to skip a thousand times in Just a matter of seconds, she could barely look at him in the face as she feels a bucket full of shame has been showered unto her

" Do you have any idea of the gravity of what you are about to do, huh? You are the one who said my family was Despicable, yet you want to allow your other daughter to come into my family. What do you think will happen?"Fergus said in a calm tone, but his body language indicated that he was raging and just trying to act cool in order not to make things worse than they already were.

Mrs Fraser's mind was far gone from being changed; she had concluded to her heart that things would get done the way she wanted.

" That is the more reason why I don't trust your family That is the more reason why I need someone to be there to take care of my grandchild for me That is the same reason I can't trust my grandson in the house of your family if they could not even spare the mother of the child what would they do to the child" she said as she rose and went to meet him where he stood.

"If this is the guarantee that you need that I will secure my child's future and make sure he's safe, then it's bullshit, just try and understand, "Fergus said, still trying to act cool.

The moment was cracking with tension; Fergus glanced everywhere; every step he took in the hall was laden with unspoken words and emotions, as the air practically vibrated with intensity.

Fergus and Amelia lock eyes in a silent battle of will; Amelia's heart is racing as her pulse pounds. One hand is her love, and the other is the promise she made to her sister.

"Why are you quiet Amelia? Are you also interested in marrying me? Have you thought about what will happen?"He asked Amelia who was standing quietly at the corner of the hall.

"I don't want any of this, I only want my sister's child to be safe," Melia said

Fergus stood silently for a few minutes, and then he sighed and said, "Mrs. Fraser, if not for the sake of me, think about Amelia. Have you forgotten she's in love with Den......"He paused and surprisingly lifted a smile which made Amelia confused it was as though he had remembered something, the next words that he spoke made Amelia feel her heart in her belle

"I will marry Amelia and take her to the Loughtry family as my new wife, and Craig's mother, I agree to your condition Mrs Fraser," he said fearlessly as if he had been possessed by something that made him decide to take this step, one thing was sure it was not because of his son alone there was something that motivated him into agreeing to this alliance, he walks over to where Amelia stood and said to her

"You want your sister's child safe? Then I will give you the privilege to ensure his safety with me." Without wasting much time, he bid Mrs Fraser goodbye and walked away, leaving Mrs Fraser and Amelia in total confusion.

............LOUGHTRY'S MANSION............

Fergus walked inside and met the family eating dinner he walked past without saying a word to them, things had been like this ever since the death of Blair he blames them for the ruthlessness towards Blair to the point of leaving her alone to suffer because he was not around to take up his responsibility but they betrayed him and allowing his wife bear the pain alone

Not minding that their faces were laden with curiosity over the whereabouts of his son, he decided not to feed them with the details of what's been going on, Mrs. Loughtry decided to open up since his father or anyone in the family was willing to talk

"Dear, you're home alone; where's your child?" she asked, though she was aware he would ignore her, but to her surprise, he answered her.

"My child will come home with his new mother in due time," he said as he was about to walk away, leaving them curious and surprised when Mrs Loughtry stopped him again.

"Mother? she said in a loud and surprised tone; she looked over in Mr Loughtry's direction, and he seemed not to be bothered or surprised over what Fergus had said.

" You heard me right, Mom, he will come with his new mother because I will be taking another wife," Fergus said, staring right into her eyes.

"Did you hear your son, or are you just going to act like you are not surprised about what he just said?" She asked her husband, who gave no answer to her but just sat quietly on the dining table.

"Just barely a month after your wife died, you're taking another; what will people say? What will happen to your father's political career? Have you thought about that, and how will people react? Do you know what that silly mother-in-law of yours will do? How do you trust your child in the hands of another woman, and who is the woman you plan to marry? Mrs Loughtry said in a tone that senses that she's tensed.

"Amelia, Blair's sister, she is going to be Craig's mother from now on" He finally said.

"Come again?" Dennis's raging voice was heard from the staircase.
