LILY'S POV
"No ma'am, I didn't mean it that way," Diane explained.
"I wouldn't dare challenge you or try to disrupt the peace of the members,"
"Good, if anything as such takes place again, you'll have to face the consequences of your actions,"
"Is that clear?" I asked, raging from inside but managed to conceal it.
"Yes ma'am," Diane responded.
"All of you?" I face the crowd.
"Yes, boss," They said in a hurry for fear of what might happen next,"
"They all handed their devices to me before leaving the villa,"
Although what I was doing might have seemed to be unreasonable, I had to protect my daughters and my men at all costs, even if it meant being unreasonable.
But I could not quite get why Diane made a deal out of it. What was her motive? To spark some kind of rebellion or what? I couldn't make up my mind on what she intended to do by causing a controversy. Whatever the case was, the little trust I had for her had diminished by a great deal.
After the scene, everyone took their pieces of luggage, went to their designated cars, and waited for my signal to start moving.
Half an hour after we hit the road, Nevaeh looked pale and sick, which got me worried.
"Baby? What's wrong?" I asked in a tiny baby-like voice.
"Are you not feeling well?"
"I am not feeling so good, I have a knot in my belly," She answered.
"Do you care telling mummy why?"
"It's because of dad," "What if something happens to him before we get there? Or, what if his condition is so severe to the extent that there is no hope of recovery?"
"Do you remember your grandpas?" I asked.
"Yes, Mum, how could I ever forget them?"
"I know you can never forget them, sweetie, what I meant is, do you remember their conditions?" I asked.
"Yes, Grandpa Two's case is very similar to that of Dad's case,"
"Yes, but do you remember what happened to them?"
"Yes, they died?" She said as sadness washed over her and she started sobbing.
"Don't be sad, baby," I said, cleaning the tears from my eyes.
"What I meant was, do you remember what happened to them before their death?"
"Of course," She replied.
"And what was that?"
" Grandpa one was almost recovered, while Grandpa two was showing signs of recovery," She stated.
"So you see, there is still hope. There is always hope. It is just the amount of hope we have that counts," I explained.
"But only when we get to the hospital, we'll be able to determine for sure how much hope we have," I said.
"So giddy up darling, there is still hope, there always hope if there's life,"
"Thank you, mummy," Nevaeh said.
"For everything," She added.
"Sure, anything for my little princess," I said.
I just hope there's enough hope to keep us going. I stated my thoughts a little louder than what I imagined.
