Chapter 4 LUCIAN

"Al...cide" Jenna managed to speak as she felt herself about to faint from the lack of breath.

Suddenly, Alcide threw her off, vomited, and then fainted as everything turned black for him.

Then the nightmare started all over again. His assailant was in his room again, naked on his bed as she gestured for him to come over. He moved like a robot who was being controlled by its master, and he climbed the bed. She kissed him and touched him all over his body, squeezing his sensitive areas hard, eliciting a squeal of pain from Alcide's mouth.

He could not do anything and just watched as the older lady touched him anyhow and, when she was done, as his routine, he ran to the bathroom, vomited his guts out, and then fainted.

But it did not end there. Suddenly, he found himself in a place filled with pictures of his assaulter pasted everywhere and then the posters started coming to reality as the lady smiled at him, calling him all sorts of names. He screamed, trying to block the voice out, and he thought he was going to faint again when, suddenly, he saw a bright light coming from opposite him and he saw a hand trying to help him out of the abyss.

He was scared for a moment as he thought that it might be the hand of that beast but still, he took the hand. He felt happiness seeping into him as he finally left that deadly place.

Alcide suddenly woke up from the nightmare, and he saw some of his men beside him staring at him intently. He felt relieved when he realized that they were his trusted men.

" Finally you're awake Alpha", one of his men spoke with relief all over his face

"Thank God Serafine noticed and came to call us". Another one of his men added too

Alcide was stunned when he heard that Serafine had come to meet him. But he did not notice her earlier on. 'Had she been there all along?'

"I'm fine," he told his men who tried to help him stand up.

They left him as per his wish and Alcide turned his head to find out that Jenna was no longer there with him. He remembered that he was laughing and suddenly Jenna touched him and then his mind blacked out. 'What happened?' Alcide thought to himself as he made his way to his room, tired and feeling a little weak from the nightmare.

While the water flowed through his body, he wondered about what had happened and where the light he saw in his nightmare came from. After having his bath, he went to sleep.

The next day, Serafine woke up feeling so relieved and hyper about the new day. A smile was plastered on her face as she did not remember when she last felt this happy. Usually, she would be forced to wake up earlier to serve punishment for her step-sister's wrongdoings. She quickly got dressed and went downstairs to have breakfast. Her mouth watered after seeing the sumptuous meal lined up on the table just for her. 'Well, maybe it was not only for her, maybe her handsome yet cold prince had his portion there too but who cares' she thought to herself as she eagerly sat down to consume her meal.

After breakfast, she left the house to go and explore the city since she could not just remain cooped up in the house like a prisoner.

Serafine was amazed at the orderliness of the city. There was nothing that was out of place and she was in awe. The marketplace was not too rowdy with everyone minding their business.

She suddenly saw a very pretty dress and thought about checking it out.

"This dress that you are touching is worth a lot of bucks. I hope you know that miss" The shopkeeper came towards her as he saw that she was keenly observing the dress.

"What's it worth?" Serafine asked after she swallowed a little. She does not even have a single penny with her as she is broke. All of her savings were stolen by her step-sister and she could not even complain or report as she would be the one to bear the consequences.

"5000 bucks," the man said and Serafine's eyes widened.

"5000 bucks? " For just one dress?" She asked with a shocked look on her face. Even all her savings are not up to half of that.

"That is the price. " If you can not buy it, then you leave it," the shopkeeper said, with anger evident in his voice.

Just as she was about to leave, a voice stopped her.

" Look girls, our so-called Alpha's wife can't even afford a dress worth just 5000 bucks," Jenna said as she and her girls laughed while mocking Serafine.

Serafine was shocked as she remembered that this was the lady she had seen with the Alpha yesterday. She saw the alpha suffocating someone and just as she was about to go help the lady, the alpha fell, vomited, and fainted. She quickly ran to save him but when she could not carry him on her own due to his weight, she had to go call for help.

Serafine stared at the lady with curiosity on her face. 'Why does it seem like this lady does not like me?' Serafine wondered to herself

'Oh, is she the alpha's girlfriend, mistress or what?'

All Serafine wants is to avoid any trouble as she has had enough from her previous pack.

"Pack the dress for her" Serafine and Jenna were shocked as they heard the voice of a man walking towards them. The man was tall with broad shoulders, but he had a more normal look when compared to Alcide.

Just as Serafine was about to talk, the man added again.

"And give her whatever it is that she wants"
