Chapter 3 SURVIVOR, NOT A VICTIM

She turned to behold a little girl running towards a woman who seemed like her mother. She got to the woman and hugged her leg.

"Oh Ariana, you know you shouldn't run off like that". With that she left with the little girl.

"Mummy, why did you stop, come on let's go go go!!!" Brian screamed.

Kylie smiled entering the car.

****A.R STAR'S ENTERTAINMENT****

The company was a really big, luxurious one and screams wealth where all sorts of entertainment like modelling, singing, acting and the rest takes place. It is the biggest company in Los Angeles and for this reason every one wants to be a part of the company.

A car pulled up in front of the company, a guard opened the door, someone stepped out, he looked so breathtakingly handsome in his expensive blue suit, his hair was styled in curtain prem bangs and it covered some part of his mariner blue eyes. His pointed nose stood out complementing his looks, with his basalt jaw. He possessed a latent leonine power and each step he took showed power and authority. His secretary joined him just as he was about going in.

"Boss, your schedules for the day....".

"You should at least wait for me to get in". Richard said, even his tone was laced with power. He is the owner of the Company and at times people find it hard to believe he actually came to the top in such a short period of time.

He walked into the company and all the staffs and employees began bowing while greeting but not without murmuring about how handsome he is, they dare not reach his ears else they'll surely get fired cause he believes that they should rather focus on their work than on his looks. He replied their greeting but only with a slight nod then took the elevator leading to his office. He got to the office and sat down while his secretary read the schedules.

"Have you found another fashion designer?". He asked.

"Yes sir, we've presented the contract but we're yet to get a feedback from them". Dave replied.

"You should hurry up and if they are not interested look for another company, our models can't keep waiting" Richard said.

"Yes sir" Dave bowed, Richard waved his hand telling him to leave.

****SHOPPING MALL****

Kylie was shopping for few things they need for their apartment, Brian insisted on following her.

"Mummy don't forget my cake pop" Brian said.

"You know I wouldn't" Kylie said picking the cake pop, that's one thing Brian is addicted to. Her phone started ringing. It's a business call.

"Wait here let me take this call" Kylie told Brian who nodded as she left. Brian started looking around and he found a cute puppy who was barking at him.

"Wow a puppy!" Brian started chasing the puppy which wouldn't stop running, the puppy crossed the road and Brian tried crossing the road but was almost hit by a car.

"Ahhhh!!" He screamed, the driver stepped on the brakes while Brian fell down.

"What's wrong?" Richard asked cause the car suddenly stopped.

"A child just appeared in front of the road" The driver said getting out from the car and walked over to Brian.

"Hey are you okay?" The driver helped him stood up "Why will you just run in front of the road like that?"

"Me" Brian pointed his chest "It's your fault, you saw a puppy crossing the road, why didn't you stop?".

"Hey"

Brian looked forward to see a man who looked exactly like him. Richard walked to them and crouched down to Brian's height.

"Why did you run in front of the road like that, you know it's dangerous" Richard scolded.

"Hey you're just like a bigger version of me".Brian said ignoring what Richard said.

Richard let out a slight chuckle as he stared at him, he admit it, it's just as though he was looking at a smaller version of himself.

"You shouldn't run in front of the road like that, you could have been a victim of accident". Richard ruffled his hair.

"I can never be a victim, my mum always says it, I'm a survivor not a victim" Brian said while Richard smiled loving Brian.

"I would love to see your mom someday" Richard said.

"Someday, why not now, I will take you to her" Brian took hold of his hand, just as they were about going in, a call interrupted them, Richard answered the call.

"I'm sorry but I can't see her today maybe some other time" Richard said, the door to the mall opened, a staff came out, greeted Richard before facing Brian.

"There you are, your mom is worried sick looking for you" The staff said taking Brian with her.

"Bye Mr handsome" Brian waved at Richard who let out a bright smile.

"Cute" Richard mumbled getting into his car, the driver drove off.

"Where were you, why did you have to scare me like that" Kylie cried hugging Brian.

"Sorry mummy" Brian pouted wiping her tears with his palm, pecking her cheek afterwards.

"Mummy did you know I met a man who looked exactly like me, the same eye color and everything, he was so handsome, just like my carbon copy" Brian grinned.

"It's just a coincidence, come on let's get going" Kylie said and they left.

KYLIE'S OFFICE

Kylie was going through some files when Linda knocked and came in.

"Kylie you haven't yet signed the contract ". Linda said as she dropped the contract in front of her.

"Oh I was so busy I almost forgot about that". She opened the contract to read it and then her phone rang, it was a call from the care taker she employed to take care of Brian till Aunt Hattie returns.

"Ma it's Brian, he's sick and his temperature keeps rising he's also refusing to eat" Cecilia said and from her voice one could clearly tell that she's panicking.

"What!! What's wrong with him he was fine this morning, oh my gosh I'm coming". She replied and hurriedly stood to leave.

"What about the contract?" Linda asked.

"Oh" She came back then took the pen and signed it.

She just signed a contract WITHOUT reading it.
