Chapter 2 HER RETURN

****SIX YEARS LATER****

****AUSTRALIA, GLAMOUR HOTEL****

"Which company do you think is going to win the award this year".

"Fad fizz company has won the award for two consecutive years".

"But Fabfashion are on fire this year".

"I think this is what we have all been waiting for and the award for the company of the year goes to..." The Mc paused as everyone held their breath, the place became silent as a grave yard as everyone waited in anticipation.

"Fabfashion!!" The Mc announced as claps filled the hotel.

"Please welcome the CEO of Fabfashion, Kylie Elaine!

A pair of long straight legs stepped out from among the crowd putting on red high heels, her long black slit gown that started from her thigh down to her legs, accentuated her hourglass figure, pencil thin eyebrows eased down gently to her sweeping eyelashes.

The thick red lipstick on her thin lips looking so enchanting, her curly moon shadow black hair flowed on her shoulder. The spotlight shone on her face and she turned out to be no one else but.... ARIANA JONES.

she was looking so ethereal as she took majestic steps towards the stage. The media did a very good job as they made sure they captured her pretty well, she got to the stage and received the award with smile's on her face.

"Thank you" She bowed facing the crowd as she stood in front of the mic, everyone became silent.

"It's such an honor to be here today, thanks to all of you who supported me, couldn't have done it without you, I'd say the journey hasn't been an easy one with all the ups and downs, but here I am with an award. I never for once gave up though there were times when I did actually thought of giving up, when the world had turned their back on me, I felt so lost forgetting that even if the world is against you there is always a person who puts you through. I had given up on life itself, my family and my..." She paused cleaning her tears.

"Let's not get too personal here, but I'd like to dedicate a very special thank you to Aunt Hattie who stood by me when I felt lost, who gave me hope and to my son Brian who gave me a reason to live. Always remember when the world seems hopeless there's always someone out there to give you hope" She stared at them as the spotlight was on her aunt and five years old son both looking good.

"Thank you so much" She bowed again as everyone stood on their feet clapping.

"Mummy, you are the best" Brian ran and hugged Kylie.

"And you are a champ" Kylie hugged him back.

"That speech back their was amazing" Aunt Hattie said, Kylie hugged her as the reporter's swarmed around them.

"Miss Kylie how did you do it?".

"How do you feel winning the award this year?".

"Would you like to say anything to your admirers?".

"Your son is so cute".

"Tell us more about him".

Kylie smiled waving at them, the guards guarded them to the car.

"Kylie, the staffs wants to host a party to celebrate your victory, would you be able to make it?" Secretary Linda asked.

"Sure" Kylie replied, Brian was already busy on his tablet.

****NEXT DAY, FABFASHION****

"Make sure the designs are done perfectly, I wouldn't want any mistakes" Kylie said.

"Yes boss, we'll make you proud" They said in unison as she left.

"Kylie" Linda called.

"What is it?" Kylie answered.

"A.R Stars entertainment presented a contract saying they wants to invest in our company" Kylie paused.

"Isn't that company in Los Angeles?" Kylie asked.

"Yes and according to my research it's one of the biggest industry in Los Angeles, so signing with them comes with a lot of benefits" Linda said, the countenance on Kylie's face had changed.

"Is Aunt Hattie in her office?" Kylie asked.

"She didn't come today" Linda replied, Kylie started leaving.

"What should I tell them?" Linda asked.

"I'm going home" Kylie replied and left.

********

Kylie got back to see Aunt Hattie in the sitting room so focused on her laptop, Kylie paused remembering how she was there for her and how she made her to be a strong and independent lady she is today, if anything, she owes her life to Aunt Hattie, she slowly hugged her from her back.

"What's wrong, did something happen?" Aunt Hattie asked.

"How is it that you always manage to tell whenever I'm in a bad mood" Kylie murmured.

"Let's say we share a bond together" Aunt Hattie replied pecking her cheek, Kylie sat down.

"So tell me, what's wrong?" Aunt Hattie asked. Kylie told her the exact thing Linda told her not skipping a word.

"And you are scared going back to Los Angeles is going to reopen your wounds" Aunt Hattie asked, Kylie nodded slowly, Aunt Hattie took her hands into her's.

"Meeting you was not by chance rather it's destiny, I got to hear your story and we became family. I've always taught you to face your fear's and I don't expect you to give up, you can't let your past block your future and remember you never mix business with personal feelings. I hope you know what to do" Aunt Hattie smiled, she let go of her hands as they shared a hug.

*********

"Do I smell apple pie?" Brian asked sniffing in the air. They just returned from school.

"You sure did" Kylie squatted to his height.

"And guess who made it".

"Mummy" Brian opened his arm hugging her.

"I have a surprise for you" Kylie smiled.

"Tell me, I love surprise's" Brian said.

"We are going to Los Angeles tomorrow".

"Yes!!! I'll make sure to tell all my friends tomorrow, I'm going to Los Angeles" He screamed as he gave her another hug, Kylie took him upstairs to help him freshen up.

****LOS ANGELES, AIRPORT****

Kylie, Brian and Linda alighted from the flight, the cold air of Los Angeles hitting them. Brian and Linda widened their arms sniffing in the air.

"Los Angeles, here I come!!!" Brian screamed, Linda looked at Kylie and noticed she was lost in thought.

"Kylie" She tapped her, Kylie looked at her.

"Is something wrong?" Linda asked and Kylie let out a smile.

"No".

Just then a car pulled and their luggage were put into the car, Linda and Brian got in and just as Kylie was about to get into the car.

"Ariana".

She paused.

She haven't used that name in such a long time so whoever called her by that name must be someone from her past, she turned to behold...
