Chapter 5 Green Biopharmaceuticals

The Sullivan Group owned four branches, and Green Biopharmaceuticals was the least promising of them all.

Despite its grandiose name, it was nothing more than a basic contract manufacturing facility.

Devoid of innovation or proprietary patents, it functioned solely as a production line, lacking any semblance of independence.

Still, this company marked the genesis of the Sullivan Group's wealth, the hard-won achievement of Charlee's mother during her initial ventures into the industry.

Charlee tapped her finger lightly on the document. "I'm the project director. Do you really think you can demote me to manage some rundown company? Dream on."

Stacey remained composed, as though she had expected Charlee's resistance.

"Dad said if you're unwilling to leave, you can stay in the project department, but under me as your supervisor. You'll have to take my orders."

Charlee let out a sharp, derisive laugh.

Her disdain was written all over her elegant face. "Mr. Sullivan knows you're useless, so he's forcing me to stay and clean up after you. How pathetic."

The office door stood wide open, intentionally so. Stacey had planned for the entire project team to witness Charlee's humiliation. Yet, the plan backfired.

With an air of confidence, Stacey squared her shoulders and lifted her chin.

"I was appointed as director by the board. It was a unanimous decision. At the year-end meeting, I'll lead this team in collecting our accolades. Just wait."

Charlee clicked her tongue dismissively. "Stop puffing yourself up."

Without another word, she made a call and put it on speaker.

After a few rings, Keith answered, his authoritative tone filling the room.

"With the tension between you and Liam, I have to make a decision. Sign the papers and head to the company. Don't stir up trouble. I have a strategy in mind."

His tone was firm yet sounded almost considerate.

Charlee's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Mr. Sullivan, I own eight percent of the shares. Don't I qualify as a stakeholder?"

Keith was silent for a moment before replying begrudgingly, "If two-thirds of the shareholders agree, it's out of your hands."

His message was clear... Charlee's voice didn't matter.

Charlee arched an eyebrow and glanced at Stacey with a smirk.

"Unanimous, you said?"

Stacey flushed crimson, while whispers spread among the onlookers outside the office.

Stacey's credibility was already in tatters before she even assumed her new role.

Before Stacey could recover and respond, Charlee's tone turned icy. "I want ownership of the pharmaceutical plant. Draft a revised agreement and send it to me. Then I'll sign and step aside. Otherwise... I don't mind dragging us all down."

Before Keith could protest, Charlee hung up.

She understood Stacey's ambitions all too well, but after three years as project director, Charlee wasn't about to surrender without a fight.

Besides, she was never a pushover.

Keith couldn't afford to gamble with everything at stake.

Thirty minutes later, the company transfer papers were delivered to her desk.

Charlee reviewed them meticulously before signing without hesitation.

As she prepared to leave, Stacey, now firmly seated in the director's chair, issued orders.

"Other than personal belongings, you're not to take a single thing from this office. Alexia, check her items."

Alexia, who owed her position to Charlee, hesitated. Her contract, however, was with the Sullivan Group.

Sparing her the dilemma, Charlee opened her own bag and box.

She turned to Stacey, holding up a small jewelry case, her strikingly clear eyes fixed on her rival.

"These are the ring and bracelet Liam had custom-made for me. One of a kind. Want them?"

Seeing Stacey's enraged expression, Charlee tossed the jewelry box into the trash with a casual motion and dusted off her hands.

"Getting rid of junk feels amazing."

As she exited, the sound of shattering cups erupted behind her. Charlee smiled to herself.

Was Stacey already cracking?

She'd need to hold out until those projects were under her control. That was when the real battle would begin.
