Chapter 8 The Revelation

Sophia's mind was reeling as she stared at the warrior. A long-lost cousin? What did he mean? The warrior smiled again, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You don't remember, do you?" he asked. Sophia shook her head, feeling a sense of confusion. "Remember what?" she asked. The warrior's expression turned serious. "You are a descendant of the ancient ones," he said. "The ones who built the lost city." Sophia's eyes widened in shock. She had always known that she was interested in archaeology, but she had never suspected that she had a personal connection to the ancient civilization.

The warrior nodded, as if he could see the questions swirling in her mind. "You have a crucial role to play in the fate of the lost city," he said. Sophia felt a shiver run down her spine. What did he mean? Before she could ask any questions, the warrior turned to Marcus. "And you, Marcus," he said. "You are not who you seem." Marcus's eyes narrowed, his face guarded. "What do you mean?" he asked. The warrior's smile was enigmatic. "You will find out soon enough," he said. Sophia's mind was racing with questions. What did the warrior mean? Who was Marcus, really? And what lay ahead for her, now that she knew she was connected to the lost city?
