Chapter 6 Escape The Villa

Charlie broke the silence after a moment, his tone cool and decisive. "I'll go."

Helena's heart raced with anticipation. This was the moment she had been waiting for.

Charlie released her and stood up. "I might as well deliver the news personally to the CEO of Gust Group that his company will be bankrupt by the end of the night."

Helena raised her eyes to meet his.

Standing tall in his long coat, Charlie seemed like a force to be reckoned with, his presence commanding respect and exuding a noble charisma.

His arrogance was unmatched. Controlling the nation's economy like a chessboard, he was heading to a party not as a guest, but to announce the host's ruin.

It was hard to imagine how many senators had already lodged complaints with the presidential office about him. Yet, his immense power made all their protests irrelevant.

None of that mattered to Helena, though.

Charlie turned suddenly, his hand finding her cheek in a teasing pinch. With a smirk, he murmured, "Don't get any ideas about running while I'm out. How many legs do you think you have for me to break?"

Was he reading her mind?

Helena blinked, playing her role perfectly with an innocent, wide-eyed expression.

She appeared every bit the obedient fool.

Charlie seemed satisfied. He patted her head twice, as though she were a loyal pet.

The moment the sound of the car engine faded into the distance, Helena sprang into action.

There was no time to waste.

Finding the maid who usually tended to her, Helena rubbed her eyes and faked an air of utter exhaustion.

The maid, setting down her task, immediately responded with concern, "Ah, you must be tired. Come, let me help you to bed."

Once inside the room, Helena waited for the door to close and leaned against it, ears straining for the sound of retreating footsteps.

Below, five bodyguards manned the main entrance, with additional security in the backyard.

The security was so tight it seemed it could prevent even a bird from escaping.

Without any weapons, exiting through the front was out of the question.

Helena's mind raced. She needed another way.

She had memorized every detail of the villa's layout and soon zeroed in on the study located on the third floor.

Balancing on the windowsill, she reached for the ledge above, pulling herself up with a swift motion before slipping quietly through the study window. Her skirt flared briefly as she landed silently inside.

The desk held a computer that was, unsurprisingly, secured with a password.

Her hands moved quickly across the keyboard, navigating the system with practiced precision.

Within moments, the screen unlocked.

She navigated to a specific web address and logged into her private account.

A black six-pointed symbol illuminated the screen.

As soon as she accessed the account, a notification appeared.

Black Mamba's message was brief but urgent. "Flamewing, you're alive! It's been over a month since you vanished. I thought you were gone for good. The organization assigned me to track you, and I finally managed to locate you in Eyrery only to later find you in Charlie Wallace's hands. Are you safe?"

Ignoring the concern, Helena typed a curt reply, including an address. "Trapped in Charlie's villa. Need immediate backup. Also, check Marcel Gibson's recent schedule."

"That's suicide. I'm bringing reinforcements." Half a minute later, another message popped up. "Marcel is at the Gust Group banquet tonight."

Helena didn't bother replying. Instead, she wiped all traces of her activity from the computer, shut it down, and slipped back to her room using the same window she had climbed through.

So far, everything had gone as planned.

Lying on the bed, Helena stared at the ceiling, her patience wearing thin as the seconds dragged on.

Despite having completed countless dangerous missions in the past, the prospect of escaping this fortress felt like the ultimate test of her nerve.

She knew she couldn't linger much longer.

Gunfire erupted outside the villa half an hour later. Helena knew Black Mamba had arrived.

She sat up, peered out the window, and allowed herself a fleeting smile.

Charlie was no stranger to assassination attempts; they seemed almost routine for someone with his enemies.

Taking advantage of the chaos, she slipped through the window again, scaling the high wall surrounding the property. Once on the other side, she darted toward a black Jeep parked nearby, its doors unlocked.

The vehicle was empty, but the keys dangled in the ignition.

Without hesitation, Helena floored the gas pedal, leaving behind a cloud of dust as she sped away.
