Chapter 2 Predicament

My eyes widen at my predicament, all I wanted was a better life, to have a normal life.

A sudden bright and blinding light shines upon me, I can barely see the people even with the sudden burst of light but I was sure they could see me.

Loud whistling and screams were being thrown my way.

"I'm sure Seraphina is overwhelmed by your warm welcome, let's calm down now gentlemen." The voice says again at the epic horror on my face.

"So now, dear Seraphina here will be going for a whooping five Million dollars." They begin to bid on me like I was some sort of furniture, betrayal hitting me now more than anything else.

"Six Million dollars." A voice says.

"Seventy Million dollars." Another man counters, I refuse to coil into myself and burst into tears, I couldn't show how weak I truly felt.

"Eight Million dollars." A different man yells.

"fifteen Million dollars." Another says and the room goes quiet.

"twenty five Million dollars." A voice says and the room bursts into whispers.

"Alluring Seraphina going for twenty five million. once, twic-"

"Hundred million dollars." A deep Husky voice says silencing the entire room.

"Hundred million dollars going Once, twice, thrice and sold." The announcer says stuttering a little.

Before I knew it, I was being dragged out of the stage and into the back room. Everyone around was suddenly shivering or looking nervous.

"Where is she?" I hear a baritone voice rumble out irritatedly, increasing the tension in the room.

"She's in here King." A man in black standing at the doorway answers.

A tall and bulky looking Adonis takes long strides into the room." I stagger back at the mere size of the man.

His eyes run up and down my barely covered body and his eyes darkens in anger.

"Why are you here?" The man asks and I watch on in confusion.

"Why are you here Seraphina?" The man roars and everyone jumps.

"What are you talking about?" I ask back at

the brute who probably just bought me.

"I just asked a fucking question, Seraphina." The man roars and I was fed up already.

"Who the fuck are you?" I scream right back at him and I hear gasps around me.

The brute scoffs at my words.

"Vincenzo, to what do I owe the pleasure of you gracing us with your presence today?" Another tall man says striding into the room.

Vincenzo? My heart begins to race at the name.

"Nathan." The man simply says in reply.

"I'm curious to know Vincenzo, why is a Koslov in my auction house?" Nathan asks with a mischievous smile.

"Her, she's leaving with me." The man simply says and I watch him in shock.

"Vincenzo Koslov?" I whisper out and the man in question raises a brow at me.

"Why are you so interested in this one?" Nathan asks.

"She's my future wife." Rage, rage is all I see, my fear all forgotten.

I knew the man my father choose was said to be despicable and horrid in nature but for him to be in this disgusting place and buying humans like goat meat.

"I am not your wife." I yell.

"I didn't say wife, I said you were my future wife." Vincenzo answers nonchalantly.

"Well we are not getting married, the marriage is called off." I say and the men laugh at me.

"Called off? By whom, my darling?" Vincenzo asks in amusement.

"My Uncle said the wedding was called off." I mutter realizing how stupid I sounded.

"She's your future wife, why did her uncle dare to sell her here?" Nathan asks.

"I'm about to find out." Vincenzo Koslov darkly says.

As much as I felt betrayed, I didn't want my uncle getting into trouble, if anything happens to him, what would happen to my mother and the family business.

"I told him I didn't want to stay and get married, I begged him to let me go, they must surely have been some mistake." I say in annoyance.

"Yes, surely there was a mistake." Vincenzo mocks but I ignore it.

"I'll be on my way now." I suddenly say.

"Where to?" Vincenzo asks.

"Home." I say my eyes searching desperately for a way out.

"You are coming with me." Vincenzo says.

"No, I'm not going anywhere with a man who goes around buying girls like they are chickens for fun." I say glaring hard at him.

He looks like he was about to say something but then he seems to decide against it.

I try to walk around him but one of his men block my path.

"Let me go please, you will never have to see me again, I promise." I plead.

"You see that's the problem darling, you do not make the decisions around here, your father made me a deal, you have been promised to me long before you turned twenty and I just had to buy you for a hundred million dollars so I entirely own you now." The cruel man seriously says to my face.

"You are to be my wife before dawn" Vincenzo Koslov tells me, his eyes fixed on mine.

"No. I will never get married to you." I defiantly say determined, my eyes throwing daggers at him.

"Well then suit yourself little one, I'm sure this gentlemen here, will have a fine time devouring your soft and milky flesh the moment I walk out of that door." The cold-hearted man tells me.

My mind goes round in three sixty degrees, wondering which was worse, him or them.

"I will not marry you." I repeat and the man nods like he agrees with me and I sigh in relief.

"Okay, suit yourself dear future wife, not." Vincenzo nods, taking a step back.

"Nathan, show my little rabbit here what it means to be sold out to any of the other men out there other than me." Vincenzo says.
