Chapter 5 FUTURE LUNA

"Future Luna?" I heard right by my windowside and rushed to shut my door. I always slept in fear and uncertainty, and I couldn't feel like I was really living.

Was that a voice or just a recall?

I never knew who the future Luna could be. Until my heart began to harbour those thoughts I had, after discussing with Angus, I was willing to meet the lady, called that name.

The Alpha's words shocked me while I was hiding by that tree's side. I could remember he called me the future Luna, but I didn't look like what he had described, though.

"Ellie?" The voice called.

Quickly, I recognised the voice to be Angus's, but I remained in bed.

"Please, open." The voice called again.

Perhaps I could ask Angus and understand what my future really held, I couldn't decide, yet. If I was to be more careful, Angus could possibly let me know. I walked to open the door for him and fortunately for me, it wasn't anyone but him. It wasn't a wolf as I dreaded within seconds.

Angus had safely returned, and needed to rest. His voice was breaking, as he spoke with me. "I will make sure I behead that brutal Alpha!"

"Behead?" I questioned, surprised at his statement. "Who are you planning to behead?"

"He is an enemy, Ellie..." Angus retorted, moving close to me. He rolled his eyes and brought out his sheathed sword. "Imagine this magical sword didn't really affect his nerves. He only grew more stubborn and strong..."

"Wait," I interrupted, my voice soft but audible. "Is this Alpha a cannibal?"

"Do you know him?" Angus returned a question, curiously.

"My mother was torn to pieces by a cannibal Alpha, who couldn't rest until his teeth touched human flesh." I explained, my eyes blinking and almost bringing out fresh tears. I controlled it. I didn't want Angus to feel bad. After all, he had been fighting for me.

"It pains me to hear your story, Ellie." Angus revealed, embracing me very tightly. "I cannot just imagine how sad you would be. Could you like us to fish out that Alpha and take revenge?"

"Yes!" I shrieked, gnashing my teeth as if I was about to tear the absent Alpha to pieces, in revenge.

"Fine, then!" Angus exclaimed, in return.

"My darling..." I called him, my voice shaking. "I don't know how powerful the Alpha can be. But, is he really undefeatable?"

"He existed before me." Angus answered bluntly, not mincing words.

"So, why does he want the future Luna, so desperately?" I questioned him, holding my two lips firmly.

Angus turned at me, and rolled his eyes deliberately, with rapid blinks. He seemed to be amazed I knew about the story. "What do you mean by future Luna?"

"She must be a very beautiful and powerful princess." I suggested, wiping my face off the speckles of broken pimples.

"Indeed, she is..." Angus responded, suddenly placing his fist under his jaws as he adjusted. "But, do you know who she is?"

"I don't." I snapped.

"I don't, either..." Angus added, turning his face back at me again. "But, I will make sure that wicked Alpha doesn't get hold of her..."

"Angus!" I intervened, my voice thin and partially pitiful. "Why don't you want him to own the future Luna to himself?"

"Huh." Angus only sighed.

"Have you ever met the future Luna?" I asked him, patting his shoulder as a means of making him talk. "Angus, be free with me..."

"The future Luna is unknown to anyone yet." Angus revealed, calming his voice. "I plan to make her my second Queen, whenever she comes into my life."

"Second what?" I questioned him, and wouldn't wait for his reply. "How strange is that- never knowing the future Luna, but planning to own her...?"

"Exactly!" Angus assented, smiling strangely. "That's what I do. I am a wild being and I do strange things."

My chest beat as soon as I heard him say that. I sighed, my head coming low as though I was bowing to him.

What if Angus got enamoured with this lady and just decided to leave me? What if?

"Angus..." I called him.

"You can't place anyone in your heart to represent me." I explained, uttering my words one by one.

"Err, I know." Angus responded, but with a rather cold voice. "I can't exchange anyone for you. But, anytime I see the future Luna, I won't hide her from you. It's a promise!"

"Hmm..." I said. "So, what's the Alpha's name?" I had been indifferent about asking this for a long while, but I decide to ask. I wasn't expecting the Alpha to be the one who murdered my mother.

"Alpha Thane." Angus answered, putting me to a shock.

"Thane?" I retorted, breathing heavily without an announced burning reaction, as I had said. "Is he the wolf leader of the Thane Wrest pack?!"

"Yes," Angus replied. "And, he doesn't kill unless he is hungry, though."

"Hungry for humans?!" I reverted, still panting. "Thane killed my mom!"

"Thane did what?" Angus questioned back, his voice high and sharp. "What do you mean?"

"He was the one who bit my mother harshly and swallowed her like a piece of meat!" I let out, tears rolling down my cheeks. "I won't forgive that monster!"

"Now that I know this truth, my muscles have swelled up." Angus revealed, frowning his face. I just knew he couldn't be expressing such anger at the poor me. He continued, his voice raised louder. "I will make sure I strangle him to death and wipe out his pack...!"

"Wipe them out!" I exclaimed, agreeing to Angus's decision without any objection.

"Alpha Thane mustn't know the future Luna, before I do..." Angus added, speaking softly this time. "I will deprive him of his rights and make him pay for the innocent lives he has dealt with."

"Let's deal with the monster, first!" I shouted at Angus, holding my lips penitently.

"I have already promised that." Angus replied, his voice cool. He wasn't angry with me. "But, he is not a monster, Ellie."

"So, what is he?" I asked.

"He is just a bloody wolf, and an Alpha." Angus answered, very coldly. "That's all."

"Angus, I'm feeling sleepy..." I suddenly announced, my hands resting on Angus's shoulder as I kept grumbling like a baby. "Cool my nerves for me."

"How, darling?" Angus asked, smiling as he gently removed my hands.

"Why did you take my hands off you?" I questioned him, frowning immediately. I couldn't know why I was getting pissed off at him, from time to time.

"Nothing." Angus replied. "I just want to be, for now."

"Did I injure your muscles last night?" I asked, winking at him and smiling. "I only made you feel at ease by comforting them. What do you think?"

"Feel ease, you say?" Angus returned, blinking his eyes at me. "Even Sonia can't disturb me that much."

"Sonia..." I said and kept reiterating him. "Sonia can't disturb you?"

"Yes." Angus replied.

"Who is Sonia?" I asked, turning my head to him as I reserved the frown. "Who is she?"

"Sonia is just a friend..." Angus responded, "I won't say much about her. Don't you know I came to know you... from a faraway land?

"I know, but, Angus..." I slurred.

"Don't feel bad." Angus said, holding my chin as he suddenly rounded his lips towards me.

"Kiss me, please!" I shouted, desiring to make him consent, immediately. I wondered why I was now feeling for him.
