Chapter 5 Revelations and Reunions

The air in the cabin felt stifling, as if the walls were closing in with the weight of all the secrets it held. Rosetta's eyes darted between Thomas and the stranger-Farkas, he had called himself-whose presence seemed to fill every corner of the room. She clenched her hands together, trying to steady the tremor coursing through her.

Thomas's knuckles were white as he gripped the dagger, his eyes locked onto Farkas with a mixture of fury and fear. "You claim to know her, yet you bring nothing but danger into this home. Why should I let you say a word more?"

Farkas met Thomas's glare with unyielding calm, though tension coiled beneath his skin. The hunter was an obstacle he'd anticipated, but not one he could dismiss lightly. He shifted his gaze to Rosetta, letting the sincerity in his voice seep through. "Because she deserves the truth."

Rosetta swallowed hard, her heart thundering in her chest. "What truth?" she whispered, as if the sound of her voice might break the fragile balance in the room.

Farkas took a step closer, and Thomas stiffened, eyes narrowing dangerously. "I need you to listen carefully, Rosetta," Farkas continued, ignoring the hunter's barely concealed threat. "You're not who you think you are."

The room fell silent, save for the crackling of the fire. Rosetta felt her world shift, as though the ground beneath her feet had turned to quicksand. "What do you mean?" Her voice shook despite her effort to stay calm.

"You are the daughter of an Alpha," Farkas said, each word pronounced with the weight of revelation. His eyes, a striking ice-blue that gleamed in the firelight, held her captive. "A powerful Alpha who is still unaware of your existence."

Thomas cursed under his breath, eyes darting to Rosetta as if willing her not to believe him. "Lies," he spat. "He's only here to take you away, to use you."

Farkas's jaw tightened, and for the first time, the controlled veneer cracked. "I'm here to protect her, not use her. And you know it, Hunter. Otherwise, you wouldn't have hidden her so well."

The silence that followed was louder than any argument. Rosetta's mind raced, images of her childhood flitting past like fragments of a dream. The whispers that followed her in the village, the sharp glances Thomas threw at strangers who lingered too long near their home-suddenly, it all seemed to make a terrifying kind of sense.

"Why me?" she asked, eyes brimming with unshed tears. "Why am I so important?"

Before Farkas could answer, the door burst open, the sudden rush of cold air extinguishing the fire's glow. Three figures stepped into the cabin, their presence as overwhelming as the first. Each one was tall, broad-shouldered, with eyes that gleamed under the moon's pale light: emerald, obsidian, and golden.

Rosetta's breath caught in her throat as their gazes found hers, recognition flaring like lightning. It was as if a cord had snapped into place between them, tying her fate to theirs in an unbreakable knot.

"Farkas," the one with deep green eyes, Adolphus, spoke, his voice a rich baritone. He glanced at Thomas with an unreadable expression. "We were supposed to wait."

"There's no time," Farkas said, his voice low and urgent. "They need to know what she is. Who she is."

Lucian, the one whose golden eyes burned like fire, moved with a kind of predatory grace. He stepped forward, eyes locking onto Rosetta with a softness that belied his formidable presence. "Rosetta, we're here to help you understand. To protect you."

Her knees felt weak, and she reached out to steady herself on the chair. The room, once her sanctuary, now felt foreign, filled with too many truths she didn't know how to bear.

Thomas's voice broke the silence, rough and weary. "You have no idea what you're dealing with. If her father finds out-"

"He won't," Fridolf, the one with eyes as dark as night, interrupted, his tone clipped. "Not until we're ready."

Rosetta's gaze flitted between them, each one so different yet connected by an energy she could feel even without understanding. "Why now?" she asked, the question tumbling out before she could stop it.

Lucian's expression softened further, the hard edge of his jaw relaxing as he took another step closer. "Because your eighteenth birthday is coming. And when it does, everything will change."

---

The brothers exchanged tense looks, a silent conversation passing between them that Rosetta couldn't decipher. Adolphus was the first to break the silence, turning his intense gaze back to Thomas. "Hunter, you've kept her safe all these years, but it's time you understand that this is beyond you now. The pack will come. It's only a matter of time."

Thomas's eyes darkened with a fierce protectiveness. "And when they do? Do you think they'll let her live? She's a hybrid. They'll see her as an abomination."

Rosetta flinched at the word, but before she could speak, Farkas's voice cut through the room, deep and resolute. "No. They'll see her as what she truly is-an heir. The daughter of an Alpha and a descendant of a legendary bloodline."

The fire in Thomas's eyes dimmed for a moment, doubt and pain warring on his face. He turned to Rosetta, his expression softening. "Rosie, I did everything I could to keep you safe. I thought hiding you would be enough."

Tears blurred her vision, the weight of his words sinking in. "You knew all along, didn't you?" she whispered.

Thomas's silence was answer enough.

Adolphus stepped forward, his presence commanding as he spoke to Rosetta. "Your life is going to change, Rosetta. But you won't be alone. We will see to it."

A shiver ran down her spine at the certainty in his voice. The bond she felt, tenuous and electric, hummed between them, a promise she didn't yet understand.

Before she could respond, a howl echoed from the woods, sharp and chilling. Thomas's face paled. "They're here."

Fridolf's eyes flashed as he moved to the door. "It's sooner than we thought."

Lucian turned to Rosetta, a fierce determination in his gaze. "We need to leave, now."

The urgency in his voice jolted her out of her paralysis. She glanced at Thomas, who nodded grimly, his eyes saying all the things he couldn't in that moment. Stay alive.

The brothers surrounded her as they moved, their presence a shield as they stepped into the cold night. The forest loomed, dark and alive with the sound of approaching wolves.

Rosetta's heart pounded as they disappeared into the shadows, the truth unraveling behind them and a future more uncertain than ever waiting just beyond the trees.

The journey through the dense forest was like stepping into a world Rosetta had only seen in dreams-both strange and familiar, as if it had been waiting for her all along. The moon hung high above, casting an ethereal glow over the woods. Shadows danced between the trees, and every rustle of the leaves felt like a whisper meant for her alone.

She followed the four brothers, her steps quick and uncertain. The events of the night swirled in her mind, refusing to settle. Farkas's revelations, the bond she felt with the quadruplets, and the haunting truth about her father-it was too much, and yet, it wasn't enough. Questions clawed at her, but she couldn't find the words to ask them.

The brothers moved like predators, their movements smooth and deliberate. Their heightened senses seemed to pick up every sound, every movement around them. It was clear they were leading her somewhere important, somewhere that would answer the questions burning in her chest.

Finally, the group emerged into a small clearing bathed in moonlight. The space felt sacred, ancient energy humming through the air. At its center lay a massive, flat stone covered in intricate carvings that seemed to shimmer faintly under the moonlight.

"This is where it begins," Farkas said, turning to face Rosetta. His ice-blue eyes glinted with a mix of pride and anticipation. "Your wolf has been silent for too long, Rosetta. Tonight, you'll hear her."

The words sent a chill down her spine. She stepped closer to the stone, her fingers brushing against its cool surface. The carvings felt alive under her touch, pulsing faintly as if responding to her presence.

"What do I have to do?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Adolphus stepped forward, his green eyes softening as he regarded her. "You don't have to force it. The wolf is already inside you, waiting. But tonight, under the full moon, the bond between your human side and your wolf will begin to awaken."

Lucian's golden gaze lingered on her, his voice low and reassuring. "This isn't just about shifting. It's about accepting what you are. A hybrid. An Alpha's daughter. And our mate."

Rosetta's heart skipped at the word. Mate. She had felt the pull, the unspoken connection that tied her to them, but hearing it aloud made it real. "Why now?" she whispered. "Why didn't this happen before?"

Fridolf, ever quiet and intense, finally spoke. "Because your father's bloodline is unique. It's ancient and powerful, and it's tied to the cycles of the moon. Your transformation can only begin under the right conditions, and your eighteenth birthday will seal it."

"Tonight," Farkas added, "you'll start to feel the wolf inside you. She'll guide you. But you have to trust her."

Rosetta hesitated. Doubt gnawed at her, the fear of the unknown holding her back. She looked at the brothers, their expressions a mixture of expectation and quiet strength. They believed in her, even if she didn't fully believe in herself.

Taking a deep breath, she nodded. "I'm ready."

The brothers stepped back, forming a loose circle around her. Each of them closed their eyes, their breathing slowing as they connected to the energy of the clearing. The air grew heavier, charged with anticipation.

Rosetta stood in the center, her hands resting on the stone. She closed her eyes and let herself feel everything-the cool night air on her skin, the faint hum of the carvings beneath her fingers, the deep, steady presence of the brothers around her.

At first, there was nothing. Just the sound of her own breathing and the distant rustle of the forest. Then, slowly, a warmth began to spread through her chest. It was subtle at first, like the flicker of a flame, but it grew stronger with each passing second.

Her heartbeat quickened as the warmth turned into a roar. Her senses sharpened, the sounds of the forest becoming clearer, more distinct. She could hear the rustle of leaves, the distant howl of wolves, and even the steady breathing of the brothers around her.

And then, she heard it-a voice, soft and melodic, yet undeniably powerful.

I am here.

The words echoed in her mind, filling every corner of her being. Her knees buckled, and she clutched the stone for support. The warmth surged through her, flooding her veins with energy. It was both exhilarating and terrifying, as if she were standing on the edge of a cliff, about to leap into the unknown.

Her breathing grew ragged as the voice grew louder, more insistent. You are mine, Rosetta. And I am yours. Together, we are whole.

Her body trembled as the wolf within her stirred, awakening after years of silence. It was wild and untamed, but it wasn't a stranger. It was a part of her, as natural as her own heartbeat.

"Rosetta!" Farkas's voice cut through the haze, grounding her. "Let it happen. Don't fight it."

She clenched her teeth, the wolf's energy threatening to overwhelm her. But instead of resisting, she surrendered. She let go of the fear, the doubt, and the questions. She opened herself to the wolf, to the power coursing through her.

And then, it happened.

A sharp pain shot through her body, but it wasn't unbearable. Her bones shifted, her muscles stretched, and her skin prickled as fur sprouted along her arms. The transformation was quick, her body knowing exactly what to do even if her mind didn't.

When it was over, she stood on four legs, her senses alive in a way she had never experienced before. The world was brighter, sharper, and more vivid. She could smell the brothers' unique scents, hear their steady heartbeats, and feel the energy of the clearing humming around her.

Farkas stepped forward, his eyes filled with pride. "You did it."

Rosetta turned to face him, her white fur glowing under the moonlight. She felt powerful, alive, and utterly herself for the first time in her life.

But this was only the beginning. Her transformation was complete, but her journey was far from over. The brothers exchanged knowing looks, a silent acknowledgment of the challenges that lay ahead.

For now, though, Rosetta allowed herself a moment of triumph. She had found her wolf, and with it, she had found a piece of herself she didn't know was missing.

Tomorrow would bring new tests, new revelations, and new dangers. But tonight, under the full moon, she was whole.
