Chapter 8 Fiancé is Back!

Chapter 8:

"Where is this woman and what is taking her so long to get ready?" Grim wondered aloud.

He had assigned her a maid to get ready and she still couldn't make it to the dinner table in time. A few seconds had clicked past the ten minutes he had given her to get ready.

A maid volunteered to go check up on them.

Grim groveled and was about to grant her request when Rose barged into the dining room.

Her movement was rid of any grace or poise. She strode in like a woman on a mission and stopped in front of Grim!

"You better have a reason for storming in here and you better have an even better reason why you are standing beside me with your breath fanning my face!"

In the heat of her rage, Rose had forgotten the instruction Grim had dished to her the last time they met.

"Do you know one mistake you should never make? Raising your voice at me, disobeying me, or doing anything that might trigger my wrath."

Her wolf replayed the words on her ears. But it was too late. Rose has already unleashed the venom on her tongue.

"You better have a reason why you demand that every werewolf in your pack sleep with you!" Rose blurted out sharply.

His words caused a bit of murmuring among people at the dining table. With one slam of his hand on the table, he silenced the table.

Grim turned to her with dark eyes. "How dare you come to my table late and question me about what rules should be in my pack?"

Had it been another individual he would not have hesitated to give a painful lecture on reasons why questioning his authority was prohibited.

But his power display didn't seem to have any effect on Rose. She was terrified but that didn't hinder her from speaking her mind.

"You have no authority over your pack and not your guests. Anyone visiting should be treated with respect."

"I see you have been given my rule book! If you want to survive another second in my pack you have to follow every rule in the book."

"That is just ridiculous. I heard a lot about you but I didn't think you were so evil. There is no way you think that I would follow all the bizarre rules you've penned down there. You need to do better."

Grim couldn't believe his eyes. He would have thought Rose had no fear. But he still recalled their kiss when she had melted in his presence. Why was she acting stubborn, was she trying to get on his nerves?

He scoffed. "This rule has been in place for as long as I have been on the throne. Things are not going to change just because you're here now. Now sit down for dinner and reserve your energy for when I'll be coming to make love to you."

Rose couldn't believe her ears. "You must think you're some kind of god. Well, news flash. I don't accept this rule. You're not going to sleep with me, and if that means you're going to throw me out, then so be it!"

Grim turned to her, rising to his full length. His fist was balled up and his clenched jaw betrayed his intentions. He was going to smash her head in!

His eyes were now dark, his shirt teeth growing into fangs.

Rose took steps back. She was confident but seeing him tower over her sent a chill down her spine. It would take one punch from him to drive her deep into the nearby wall.

Rose was still recovering from Dale's strike. Who's to say that she would survive a second more if his more powerful brother hurt her?

She shut her eyes anticipating a blow. Even Judy, who had stopped in the steps watching the scene, looked away. She couldn't bear losing her newly made friend!

"Oh, tear her to pieces already, and stop wasting time. Are you going to allow this halfbreed to insult you like that in front of everyone?" Dale asked.

There was no love lost between him and Rose. From the moment he had walked into her dressing room, he had taken a dislike for her.

Rose opened her eyes when nothing happened. That was when he noticed his features begin to soften. The source of his calm was a figure that had just walked into the room.

Rose turned to see a female vampire enter the room. She stood tall, her slender yet athletic figure draped in a flowing black gown. Her porcelain skin was deathly pale. She had high cheekbones and a sharp jawline. Her eyes are a piercing emerald green. Her raven-black hair lay on her shoulders, flowing to her back.

For a second, Rose envied her. She was beautiful, the haunting kind.

She walked inside the room with an aura of evil strolling beside her. Her gaze was both mesmerizing and unsettling as her eyes swept across the room. Her full lips, which were painted a deep crimson, curled into a smile as soon as she spotted Grim.

She walked over to him and in another moment, her mouth buried into his in an exasperating kiss. It was so intense that when they pulled apart, they had to catch their breaths.

"I have missed you, baby," the stranger said.

Rose looked on in horror. She couldn't believe that Grim was trying to sleep with her even when he had a partner!

"I have missed you too, Feria. I prepared this dinner to celebrate your return but this woman is trying to ruin it."

The stranger turned to Rose, noticing her for the first time. "You didn't tell me we were getting another maid. Why is she not dressed like the others?"

"I am not a maid. I am a guest to your pack!" Rose defended herself.

"How dare you raise your voice at my fiance? I need to teach you a lesson!" Grim retorted, turning to two of the guards. "Take this woman back to her room and lock her up
