Chapter 9 Repel Force

Chapter 9

The command was obeyed as swiftly as it was given. In a matter of seconds both her arms were held apart by two guard's and they dragged her back up the stairs.

"Who is that commoner?" Feria asked, turning to look at Rose being dragged away.

"She is no commoner. She is just a girl I picked up by the woods. She was naked and helped her in here. Don't worry about her."

Feria sat down to have a meal. She had just come from a long trip and her taste buds hadn't tasted good blood in a long while. She took a sip of the virgin blood Grim served her and suddenly her energy was refilled.

"I saw her going toe to toe with you when I was walking in. What was that about?"

"Nothing. Eat your food."

Feria too has sensed the power field around this woman. She could tell that Rose was no ordinary vampire.

"Is she a werewolf?" She asked.

"It's none of your business Feria. You should be worried more about getting your energy back because soon I have another mission for you," Grim said without looking at her.

He was more burdened with Rose. He still hadn't recovered from the insult she had issued to him.

Even Dale wouldn't dare speak to him that way. Who did she think she was that she could talk to him in whichever manner she pleased?

It didn't matter if she had just arrived. Disrespecting him was the first thing he had warned her to stay away from. But she had thrown his caution to the wind. Now he has to teach her a lesson.

But Feria knew better than to let the matter go. She has seen everything. From when Rose has walked down the stairs to how she has spoken Grim.

She also knew Grim better than anyone. No one stepped on his ego and survived the next minute. Something had to be special about this stranger. Something that made Grim hesitate to rear her to pieces.

"What is her deal? I'm getting double scents from her. Are you sure we shouldn't be careful around her? Do you even know what she is?"

"We can't do away with her, Feria. She is important and right now I need to go talk to her."

He stood up, ignoring dinner. Freya wanted to go with him but he stopped her, waving her off. Feria sat down in rage. He may have told her to not bother him but the way he was acting did nothing but spike her curiosity.

He didn't want anyone to know about Rose. Apart from Dale, no one else was supposed to know.

He was trying to protect her.

Vanessa was not a desirable name around Nostville. If anyone found out about her true heritage, it would put her in danger. No one was going to welcome her to the pack after what had happened with Vanessa.

Grim banged on the door of the room Rose had been locked up before walking in. He wasn't trying to be courteous, he was trying to intimidate her before he laid his hands on her.

It was working on Rose. She moved backward into the corner of the room as Grim's full figure appeared in the dimly lit room.

Her legs were bound to the floor so she could barely move further than an inch. Even in the dark, she couldn't miss Grim's glowing red eyes. His tongue curled around his fangs as he anticipated the taste of her blood.

"Please don't do this" Rose begged when she found out that she was on the losing end. She wasn't getting out of this mess.

"You can beg? What happened to that big mouth of yours now when it is needed?" He taunted.

When he emerged from the light, he was in his full werewolf form. Fangs hung long and sharp. His entire bulky chiseled frame was covered in dark brown fur, his long ears sticking out a head full of hair. His long blood stained nails scraped against the floor as he approached.

He was menacing. Rose's heart fell to her belly as he got to her. He covered the distance between them. One strike from his paws and the chains on her hands and feet broke apart.

"Please spare my life. I will never disrespect you again," she begged when she realized that his strike hadn't been aimed at her.

Grim ran a finger along her exposed skin. They were marks. She must have sustained them when she got caught in a bush of thorns or something.

But other than that, her skin was smooth. He curled his sharp claws to her neck and lifted her off the ground. Unlike the other werewolves, he wasn't trying to sleep with her.

"You brought this on yourself," were his last words to her as he brought her close enough. Her neck was inches away from his fangs.

He was looking for the perfect spot to dig his teeth into. Her veins are taut and looking ripe. His nostrils picked up the scent of her blood but for some reason, he couldn't engage.

"Why haven't I dug into her flesh yet?' He wondered.

Usually, he would tear apart his prey in an instant. He would make sure to drink off all their blood as well as dig his canines onto their rope and separate their bloodied flesh from her bones.

"Take my life already. Stop keeping me in suspense!"

Rose didn't hold back from taunting. She was losing her life so there was nothing else to lose.

There was a scent from her that repelled his hunger for blood. Instead of draining her neck, he wanted to kiss her. He had walked into the room to punish her but all of a sudden.

"What the hell?" He muttered, stepping back. "What kind of sorcery is this?"

He had never experienced such a repellent force. He dropped her to the floor and backed away into the dark.

Embarrassed, he zoomed out of the room and didn't stop until he was in his chamber. He shut the door behind him and only then did he notice Dale seated on the chair.
