Chapter 6 Looking At Me Now!

"Alicy!" Joan shouted around the lobby of her company's office. He waved at Alicy and then approached the girl.

"How are you? Are you better?" Joan asked again, he was a typical frontal person, not caring about the gazes of other workers looking at his interaction with Alicy.

"I'm fine Joan... thank you!" said Alicy, it seemed that she was uncomfortable with the stares of the people around the lobby.

Not long after that, Varenzel entered with his neat appearance, the man smiled at the presence of Alicy and his brother Joan. Then Varenzel immediately quickened his footsteps to get closer.

"Brother!" called Joan, he smiling at Varenzel. But not for Alicy, but , she looked down and closed her eyes

"Joan, sorry, I'll go first!" Without further ado, Alicy then left Joan. Her position of being friends with Joan meant that she didn't have many boundaries with Joan.

Alicy left Joan, making Varenzel gasp while walking towards Joan.

Joan chuckled. "Don't worry bro, Alicy is like that, cheer up huh!" Joan chuckled slightly, now both of them were looking at Alicy who was walking faster towards the elevator.

Alicy continued walking and entered her work area, she sat in her work chair.

It's not yet time to start work, but because Alicy's position is a new employee and is a bit closed, she doesn't have any friends in her work environment.

As time passed, all the chairs started to be filled by workers. Alicy looked around when she felt people staring at her, perhaps because she was called Joan or because she had taken a work permit even though Alicy had only been working for one day.

Feeling uncomfortable, Alicy went towards the outside door. However, unexpectedly, when Alicy was about to leave, Varenzel was also walking outside the room, holding a folder in his hand. Alicy's steps stopped suddenly, she turned around and sat back in her chair with a little haste.

Varenzel who knew Alicy's behavior raised one corner of his lips, and finally entered Alicy's room too.

"Mr Randof!" Varenzel called a man who was the leader of the division that was under Varenzel's responsibility.

In between, small whispers were heard among the women sitting not far from Alicy's place, they were busy talking about Varenzel.

About how Varenzel's handsome face was created and how tenacious the man is.

Alicy certainly heard the women's whispers, until finally Alicy looked up, she became curious to see Varenzel's presence.

The man was truly authoritative, until Alicy's gaze was broken by Varenzel who glanced at him before leaving the room.

For a while everyone seemed to be immersed in their respective work, making silent pauses filled with the tapping of their work tools and then it passed until a man's voice spoke.

"Miss Swan!" Randof approached, "the leader asked you to deliver this folder to his room!"

Really, not only Alicy gasped but also the other employees suddenly looked at Alicy. They really know that Varenzel is very selective in his work. It seems that Alicy's negligence in skipping class yesterday made everyone think that Alicy was in the red zone, which Varenzel didn't like because he neglected to work.

"Mr. Varenzel asks you to hurry right now!" Randof said again, Alicy was still silent in her nervousness.

"Miss Swan?"

"Oh, y-yeah.."

In the end, Alicy rushed over after she was distracted looking at the other employees talking about her.

Alicy continued to walk towards Varenzel's room, there was real doubt, but Alicy couldn't do anything because her status was only that of a subordinate. However, in the meantime Alicy had a small hope that Varenzel would really put himself in the red zone, let alone stop Alicy.

"Come in..." said Varenzel after hearing a knock on the other side of the door.

The door to the room opened slowly and Alicy entered with nervousness still clearly visible on her face.

"Excuse me sir," Alicy called softly.

"Thanks, just keep it here!" Varenzel's order made Alicy walk closer to the table. "Sit over there, there's something I want to talk to you about!" said Varenzel when the folder was saved by Alicy.

Alicy froze for a few seconds, even though she almost turned around to get out of here as quickly as possible.

It lasted three seconds and was destroyed by Varenzel getting up from his chair.

Alicy blinked her eyes so tightly, there was no other choice. Alicy rushed to sit in the guest chair in Varenzel's room.

Varenzel pulled the corners of his lips when he saw the nervousness on Alicy's face, the girl sat so awkwardly while fiddling with her little fingers. Even Alicy just looked down at this situation.

They sat facing each other and were separated by a small table between them.

"This is about you not coming in yesterday__" Varenzel didn't continue his words when he saw Alicy's reaction becoming increasingly erratic. Alicy was shaking faintly and looked very nervous.

"Miss Swan, do I look that scary to you?"

Alicy suddenly looked up at Varenzel, the man raised his eyebrows and smiled.

"S-Sorry, sir... I didn't mean that"

Varenzel smiled "If you're not afraid of me, come try looking at me now!" Varenzel challenged, the man was quite intelligent and a little domineering indeed.

Alicy took a hard gulp of saliva then looked at Varenzel for proof.

"Good, hold it like that!" Varenzel said, stopping Alicy from looking down again, as was Alicy's habit.

It's true that Alicy was able to do it in just three seconds.

"Okay, I'm sorry!" said Varenzel finally, "Actually, I called you here just to ask about your truancy yesterday!"

"Sorry sir"

"No, I mean I just want to know how you are, I hope you're okay!"

It felt like all those people's bad assumptions and Alicy's hopes of being expelled disappeared instantly.

"So, You won't fire me?" said Alicy reflexively. Even though honestly Alicy wanted Varenzel to fire her.

Varenzel chuckled at that "I fired you? Nothing, I won't fire you."

Alicy's exasperated gasp was clearly heard, Varenzel certainly heard and saw Alicy's uncomfortable expression towards him.

Then Varenzel leaned towards the table, without stopping there he also brought his face closer to Alicy until Alicy's shocked reflex looked at Varenzel.

Their faces were really close now!

"Alicy Swan, I know enough if you're trying to stay away from me!" Varenzel was so frontal, they stared at each other two inches apart from their faces. Pulling an asymmetrical smile, Varenzel said

"But that's not the reason for my stopping at you, Alicy, believe me, in fact, I'm even more interested in that. You know? You look adorable with all your behavior!"

Varenzel really broke the boundaries, it was because Varenzel wanted to break through the awkwardness in Alicy. Even though he seemed intimidating, he didn't seem to want to stop.

And Alicy just remained silent in shock.

There was still fear on Alicy's face, and Varenzel spoke again

"Alicy Swan, I really want to get to know you further, and further!"
