Chapter 6 Trisha.....leave now

"Ms. Scott, cancel my remaining schedule for today" I heard Mr. Fletzon say as I picked up the internal cellphone in the office.

He didn't even wait for a response before cutting the call. Rude much.

Well, who was I to complain. That meant I was also free for the rest of the day.

I opened my log book to call everyone that was part of the schedule and tell them how sorry my boss was to miss the appointment. Probably, come up with some reason.

This was actually the first day that Mr. Fletzon was cancelling out of his appointment. I have worked with him for a while and apart from the first day, I haven't had that much interaction with him.

It almost felt like he was avoiding me. But that is probably my wishful thinking. He probably just didn't acknowledge my presence

No matter how much I wanted to badmouth my boss for his rude attitude, he was actually not bad.

The workload was much but manageable. It wasn't as bad as when I worked with Mr. Costa.

I have already started interacting with people from the top floor and they are actually not that bad. Atleast, they didn't look like they have the time of the day to be gossiping or looking down on others.

I even made some friends.

The CEOs PA still didn't seem to like me. He was either looking at me like we had a beef or like he was trying to figure out something.

I stopped at a name on the log book. It was one of a Chinese company, the Yang group. According to my research, it was one of the biggest entertainment company in China.

My boss wanted us to enter the Chinese entertainment market and it was a long time before their CEO agreed to the meeting.

He was only in New York for a week and today was the last day they could meet him.

He probably forgot about it today because I could see how desperate he was

" Mr. Fletzon" I said through the intercom when I rang the phone and didn't get a response.

Knock knock

I knocked on his door.

" Enter after two knocks" was pasted on the door.

I opened the door slightly. The room was dark, like nobody was in there.

I entered fully and saw him seated down, his back facing the door.

" What do you want?" He asked me, his voice sounding weird.

" Are you okay?" I asked him, out of genuine concern.

" What do you want?" He asked again.

" I want to talk to you regarding your earlier request" I said.

" If you are done speaking with them, you can have the remaining day off" He said.

" That is not what I meant. I think you might have to go through your schedule again" I said.

"Ms. Scott, go straight to the point. I don't have time for this " He said.

" You are meant to meet with the CEO of the Yang group."

" Can't you reschedule?" He asked.

" He is leaving New York today " I said.

" Okay, noted. You can leave now" He said.

" So, should I still cancel or I....."

" Trisha..... leave now!!" He said to me, calling me by my first name.

I watched as his head dropped lower and he held it, like someone in pain. I couldn't see his face though.

" Okay sir" I said, but I didn't know what kept me from leaving.

Maybe, it was the fact that he was definitely not okay and if my boss died, I would probably be the first suspect and I would be out of a job.

I summoned the courage and went closer to him.

" Do you need any help, pills or I should take you to the hospital?"

I was correct. As I looked at his face, I could see the tiny sweat dripping on his forehead.

I pulled my hands closer to his neck and he was burning up.

Where was his assistant when he needed him? Oh I remembered!! He sent him home too.

" I told you to leave" He said, again

" You are burning up. Do you plan on dying here? " I said to him, I was already annoyed as it is.

" I don't need your help " He said to me.

" Stop being childish. With this attitude of yours, I would just leave you here but I'm not interested in being the main suspect of anything happens to you"

Welp, did I just say that to my boss. I covered my mouth immediately but he was truly acting like my younger niece.

Instead of saying anything to me again, he chuckled as if finding my frustration funny.

" Check the top shelf for my panic pen" He said , pointing to a direction.

I rushed immediately and saw it. This was the first time that I was seeing this kind of penin real life.

A panic attack was something that I didn't expect my boss to be having.

He pointed to his legs and it took me a while before I understood what he meant.

He wanted me to stab him with it.

I looked at the pen in my hands and then, his legs.

I closed my eyes, ready to strike.

Before I could do it, the pen was snatched from my hand and opening my eyes, I saw that he already did it himself.

" I told you that I could handle it" He said to me and I felt embarrassed now.

" I was about to do it" I countered.

" If you truly did what you planned on doing, you wouldn't just be afraid of being a suspect, you would actually be the murderer " He teased.

" I would get going now" I said, realizing just how close we were. I was squatting, my face just few inches above his bent head.

" Don't cancel the meeting with Yang group. I would be there" He said when I was about leaving the office.

" If you're not feeling too well, we can try begging him for a reschedule whenever he's in town again" I said

" I thought you were convincing me not long ago" He said.

" That was before I saw your state" I said, in a low voice.

He was now back to normal but I couldn't just shake the fact that the man everyone viewed as perfect was dealing with something like a panic attack.

" Don't worry about me and get prepared. You are coming with me" He said.

" Yes, sir" I said

" And thank you, Ms. Scott "

Well, that was definitely something I didn't expect.

And he was suddenly back to last name calling.
