Chapter 1 The Last Request

The story starts in Ethan Blackwood's office. It is tense. Ethan is a tough businessman walking around his fancy office, looking out at the city. His assistant comes in with shocking news: his estranged dad, Richard Blackwood, is on his sick bed, dying, and wants to see him urgently.

Ethan does not want to go. He is angry and blames his dad for his issues. But in the end, he decided to visit. Richard is weak and filled with regret. He tells Ethan his last wish is for him to marry Sofia Turner. She is the daughter of a friend whose family got hurt by a bad deal. Richard thinks this marriage can fix the Blackwood name and the mistakes he made.

Ethan feels angry. He thinks he is being used, even now. Then Richard says something that hits hard: "This is your chance to be more than what I made you. It is the best time to be great."

Next, we meet Sofia Turner. She is at her small apartment when a lawyer tells her about the marriage plan. She looks shocked and worried. But with money troubles and threats from Damien Shaw, she has to think about it carefully.
