Chapter 7 Delivering Packages for Extra Cash

Juliet grabbed her shoulder bag and headed out. As soon as she stepped through the school gate, she ran into that family of three.

Eileen was wrapped around Coral's arm, looking all cozy as they chatted about who knows what. Since Eileen was quite the popular girl at school, a lot of people were glancing their way.

Juliet just pretended she didn't see them and kept walking.

"Juliet?"

Coral frowned. "Eileen, why are you calling her? Someone like her could cause trouble at school and drag you down with her."

Eileen replied sweetly, "Mom, we're family now. Juliet is just a bit rebellious; don't hold it against her."

"Hmph! If she had half your sense, I wouldn't be so mad."

Eileen looked eagerly at Juliet and softly said, "Juliet, if you ever have any trouble at school, you can come to me."

Eileen had been quite the star in high school, and with Juliet's striking looks, more and more people were noticing them.

Juliet felt a bit annoyed but kept smiling. "Sister, your makeup... it's kind of thick."

Eileen's expression froze. Ever since that day Juliet slapped her a few times, her face still hadn't completely healed; there were still visible handprints that she had to cover with foundation.

Juliet leaned in and said quietly, "If you don't want to embarrass yourself in public, maybe you should stop looking for trouble."

"You!" Coral instinctively opened her mouth to scold her but, with so many people around, she had to swallow her words.

Juliet scoffed, ignoring the group that made her stomach turn, and walked away.

"What a lack of upbringing!" Coral gritted her teeth and cursed.

Eileen wiped her tears and said, "Mom, stop. It's my fault. Don't you and Dad have things to handle at the company? You should go."

Coral, realizing they had company matters to attend to, frowned and took Eileen's hand. "Eileen, if anyone gives you a hard time at school, you have to tell Mom. I'll back you up."

"Mom, it's fine. The students at school are really nice."

"Alright then, just keep your distance from Juliet. Don't let her bully you."

Eileen nodded. "Got it, Mom. I'll be careful."

Only then did Coral take a few more concerned glances at Eileen before getting into the car with Bowen and leaving.

Eileen stood there as a few girls she was familiar with approached her.

"Eileen, who was that girl? She was so rude..."

"Right? That's what your mom said-she really has no manners!"

Eileen's big eyes filled with tears again, and she looked down to wipe them away.

"She's Juliet, the daughter my parents adopted. Four years ago... after that incident, they sent her abroad to study, and she just got back a few days ago."

As soon as she finished speaking, the girl gasped and covered her mouth. "Oh my God! She's the one who hit you back then?"

"She hurt you so badly; how could your parents adopt someone like that?"

"That kind of person has violent tendencies and an antisocial personality! If she's at NY University, she'll definitely bully you again!"

"No way! How can someone like her go to our school? I have to let everyone know her true colors!"

******

Not far from NY University, a silver Rolls-Royce was parked quietly by the side of the road.

Juliet glanced at the license plate on her phone, confirmed it was the right one, and opened the passenger door, leaning in.

"You..."

Frank stared in surprise at the girl in a white T-shirt and jeans, who was beautiful and delicate. "Are you from the International Medical Research Institute?"

No matter how he looked at her, she seemed like just an ordinary college student... well, not exactly ordinary; her looks were anything but.

"What International Medical Research Institute?" Juliet patted her shoulder bag, her expression completely casual. "I'm a freshman at NY University, just delivering packages for some extra cash."

With that, Juliet took a closer look at Frank and asked cautiously, "You're not making me deliver something illegal, are you? I'm still a student; if there's something wrong with what's in the box, I'll call the cops."

"Don't!"

Seeing Juliet reach for her phone, Frank quickly added, "It's just some basic first aid supplies, not what you're thinking."

"Good." Juliet relaxed, holding onto her bag.

Frank noticed she just plopped down and didn't seem to have any intention of getting up. He said, "Just hand it over to me."

"No way." Juliet shook her head. "My boss said I have to get the real buyer to sign for it."

"..." Frank replied, "I am the buyer."

Juliet shot him a glance and then pulled out her phone to take a picture.

"What are you doing?" Frank's expression changed.

Juliet replied nonchalantly, "You don't look like a real buyer to me. If you say you are, I need to take your picture to send to my boss, so I don't get into trouble later."

"Click!"

The flash went off suddenly, nearly blinding Frank.

He felt his temples throb. There's no way the International Medical Research Institute was going under, right? How did they find someone like her to deliver medicine?

But looking at Juliet's young and innocent face, he took a deep breath. "Now that you have my picture, can you give me the medicine?"

"Nope." Juliet shook her head again.

Frank's expression twisted. "Why not?"

Juliet handed him her phone. "Just give me your phone number. If there's an issue later, I'll know how to reach you."

"..." Frank gritted his teeth as he took the phone, dialed his number, and was about to hand it back.

"Ouch!"

A sharp pain shot through his fingertip, and he looked down to see a corner of the phone screen was cracked, cutting his finger.

Juliet pouted a little. "My phone screen cracked. Now that I made some money, I can finally get a new one."

"Well... This should work, right?!" Frank ground his teeth together.

Juliet nodded, satisfied, and pulled out a small box from her backpack. "Here, it's all yours. I'm outta here."

With a smile, Juliet got out of the car and watched the Rolls-Royce drive away.

Not long after, a pretty ordinary car pulled up next to her.

The window slowly rolled down, revealing David's mixed-featured face. "Leopard, did you find the guy?"

Juliet got in the car and laughed a little. "Almost."

"What do you mean by that?"

She took a transparent file folder out of her backpack and put the phone she had just used inside. "There are a few fingerprints on this phone that don't belong to me, and there's blood on the screen. There's also a photo in the album and the phone numbers' ownership in the contacts... You need to figure out who this person is."

Silicone masks were pretty advanced these days. Even though she hadn't noticed anything off when she observed closely, just in case, she kept the fingerprints and blood sample. There had to be something real about it, right?

"Okay, are you coming to my place?"

"Nope." Juliet shook her head, opened the car door, and got out. "I'm heading back to school."

David's eyes widened. "You're really planning to go back to school like an ordinary student?"

The chief instructor of the Death God Training Base, a top figure in the mercenary world, attending college...

NY University's faculty and students were in for quite a ride.

Juliet laughed. "This identity is super useful. That idiot earlier didn't suspect me at all, did he?"
