Chapter 3 I want her

"This way then, my queen." I said to Freya with a gentle smile, while I held out my hand and saw her off to the car.

I stood there, watching till her car was out of sight. I could literally taste the joy in my throat. I had been waiting for her for so long, and it had been so painful watching her love the wrong person who didn't love her.

Right from the first time I set my eyes on Freya, I wanted her. She had dreamy blue eyes, while her lush hair bounced over her shoulders. Her makeup was light, but it complimented her face and her beauty made those billboard models look like novices.

"That's my girl..." I had said to myself as I stared at the picture on her page over and over.

When I finally peeled my eyes from my phone screen, I called my private investigator to run a quick search on her.

We were supposed to meet on a blind date, but she stood me up. That was a first. No woman had ever done that.

Abandon me on a date? Me? Victor Maddox, the handsome billionaire heir.

Women flock around me like bees clinging to the honeycomb. I enjoy the attention, but I never commit to any of them, they only want money and I only want their bodies. Tit for Tat.

My life was going well, and I was enjoying my best life until my dad, out of nowhere, asked me to get married or lose my inheritance to my stepmom.

Darla came into our family after my mom's death, and though my younger sister, Stacey and I, were not comfortable, we had to respect our dad's decision.

We did move out though. Stacey moved in with her partner, while I moved into my penthouse and had more freedom to party hard.

"Darla has been leading the company well. I might as well transfer the whole property to her, since all you want to do is ruin yourself and the family!"

"What?" I exclaimed when I heard my dad say that.

"Get married or lose your inheritance to my wife!!" He yelled at me and walked away.

I could see the smirk on Darla's face as she pretended to console me.

I wasn't going to give her that satisfaction.

"You're not getting any of this!" I whispered and left too.

I got in the car and my driver zoomed off.

"My dad wants me to go on a blind date with his friend's daughter. Include it in my schedule and let me know when." I said to my assistant over the phone.

I had never put much thought into my outfits when going on dates, but this one was different. I wanted to make an impression. Sweep her off her feet such that she wouldn't be able to resist getting married to me. Once that happens and I get my inheritance, I would divorce her and continue with my life.

Three hours and a bottle of wine later, it dawned on me that I had been stood up.

The rage I felt was second to none. I stood to my feet just in time for my phone to beep.

"I'm so sorry, but I have to cancel. I'm not interested in meeting or marrying you. I already have a man and I love him so much. I hope you find love too. Freya."

I felt my insides turn with mad fury as I marched out of the restaurant.

My assistant didn't bother to ask questions once he saw my face.

"Get my PI on the line, I want to know everything about that b*tch!" I yelled at my assistant while he scurried off.

One thing I hate the most is disrespect. I don't condone it, and it never goes unpunished either.

I paced the room several times, waiting for feedback. After about ten times, my phone beeped again. It was Freya's picture.

What I felt in the next five minutes was inexplicable. My anger had dissolved like salt in the water the moment I saw the gorgeous beauty on my screen.

She was a goddess.

There was something different about her that attracted me and I wanted her so badly.

"What is it, Nate?" I asked my PI when his call came in.

"I don't think getting revenge on her would be easy. There's nothing dirty on her. She's just a cute lover girl who is head over heels in love with her fiancé." Nate revealed while I curved my mouth in a defensive manner.

The desire for revenge had already disappeared along with my anger.

"She's engaged? Why did my dad want me to still meet her then?" I asked.

"I think that's because her dad doesn't want her to marry the man..." he suddenly stopped, and I didn't interrupt either.

When he suddenly goes mute like that, it's because he has made a new discovery. I just let him do his thing, and he reverts to me once done.

"This is so interesting, you're going to love this."

"Her man is Dennis, the same person who blackmailed you some months ago. The one with the s*xtape."

"What?" I exclaimed immediately.

I once had a night stand with a girl I met at the club. I actually wasn't in the mood, but this girl was damn crazy. She stripped on me till I was fully erected and my pants could almost burst open.

I downed my wine, dragged her upstairs into one of the rooms and had s*x with her. She was wild and I enjoyed every bit.

A week later, I was in a business meeting when I suddenly received a video on my phone. It turned out the lady recorded the whole thing.

I got a demand shortly after. It was either I pay half a million or get the video played on the big screen, right there in the presence of huge investors and shareholders.

I had no choice. I immediately passed the phone and information to my assistant who sorted the ransom...

"Are you sure? Dennis is Freya's fiancé." I quizzed, wondering how possible it was for Freya to have fallen into his trap.

"I'm sure. Freya is engaged to the same man, but I don't think she knows about his real personality. He's probably after her for the same reasons," Nate retorted.

My head immediately came back to its senses. I couldn't bear that Dennis could be plotting the same for Freya.

"Can I call back in five? I need to confirm this before I tell you."

"Alright, I'll be waiting."

We hung up, and I went back to staring at the picture. I clicked on the link Nate sent, and it redirected me to Freya's Instagram profile.

Damn!

All the pictures and videos were juicy. She was perfect. For the first time in a long while, my dad really made a good choice.

I answered my phone at the first beep.

"I just confirmed it, Freya is Dennis' next target. And her best friend is in on it too. They've been together for years and are still together. They meet at this hotel..." Nate explained, and I saw a text pop up then. It was the hotel address.

"Good job, Nate. Keep someone at the hotel, I want to know the next time they go there." I ordered and hung up.

"I'm going to protect you, Freya... and you'll then be mine." I muttered to myself.

A week later, Nate told me that Dennis and Sonia were at the hotel as usual. I wanted to see things for myself, so I went there.

I found them making out in the garage.

I was filled with rage, I wanted to run them over and just spare Freya the pain and heartbreak. That way, I get revenge for the blackmail and Freya gets to guard her heart and sanity.

I riled up the car and drove straight ahead at full speed, but Dennis was fast and jumped out of the way with Sonia.

"F*cking coward!" I cussed under my breath.

Barely two days later, I got news that they were at the hotel again. I wasn't going to see this alone so I sent a text to Freya, anonymously.

She arrived fifteen minutes later, looking gorgeous. It took a lot of willpower not to claim her at that instant, but I had to wait.

"She'll soon be yours, it won't be long now." I thought to myself while I watched her happily stride upstairs.

A minute later, she ran back, eyes filled with tears as she went out.

I followed her, watched her sit on the bench and burst into tears.

It broke my heart to see her that way, but it also helped me make up my mind.

I would do everything to get her revenge... and then make her mine!
