Chapter 2

"You should have Gillian bear you a child. Once she's pregnant, she'll do whatever you say. Then you can take her money and go to the Europe, leaving a child for your parents."

Kory chuckled, "You're really considerate."

The two of them then resumed their intimate conversation.

I stood outside the door, listening to their dialogue, trembling uncontrollably in pain.

Anger, grievance, betrayal, and fear all surged through me at once.

I couldn't even remember how I got home; the conversation at the hotel between Kory and Michael kept replaying in my mind.

It wasn't until a firework exploded outside, snapping me back to reality, that I understood why he was so considerate to me and why he avoided intimacy.

He liked men.

The marriage and family I had deeply cherished were merely a cover for Kory.

Even his parents knew about his preference and still deceived me into marrying their son.

I was filled with hatred.

The child I had always wanted was now part of Kory's scheme, a ploy to get my money.

I would never let that happen!

A wave of intense hatred enveloped my heart.

I wanted revenge. I wanted retribution!

Kory, Michael, those who deceived me, I vowed you would all get what you deserved.

The next day, Kory offered to pick me up from work, but I refused.

I met with my good friend Suzanne Evans and told her everything.

She was shocked, "Kory makes you his cover by marrying you? Jesus."

I nodded bitterly, never imagining I would experience something like this.

Her eyes darted as she suggested, "He wants to go to the Europe with his lover, right? I have an idea. You can find a lover for his lover."

I immediately understood Suzanne's intention.

But where would I find someone willing to do this?

Suzanne smiled, "Leave that to me."

When I got home, Kory had already prepared dinner.

During the meal, he looked at me affectionately, "Honey, I've been thinking, it's time for us to have a child."

I suppressed the urge to lash out and replied gently, "What's gotten into you lately, suddenly wanting a child? I've asked the doctor, and pregnancy is no small matter. We need to prepare in advance."

Kory, not expecting my refusal, was momentarily stunned, "Alright, then let's go for a check-up in a few days."

That night, Kory tried to seduce me, but I felt nauseated and interrupted him, saying I was too tired from work.

Only then did he reluctantly stop.

I knew I needed to find an excuse quickly. It would be easy for Kory to get me pregnant now.

As my legal husband, he could easily justify anything.

I went to the hospital and got a fake prescription, telling him the doctor advised me to take care of my health first and avoid intimacy for a while.

He looked at the prescription skeptically but eventually dropped the matter.

Meanwhile, Suzanne messaged me with progress.

She had found a seasoned veteran of the nightlife scene. After meeting this guy, Jimmy Lloyd, I couldn't help but blush, amazed that such a handsome and humorous man liked men.

Through his connections, he quickly found information on Michael.

After spending two days at Michael's favorite bar, Jimmy ensured that Michael took the bait.

He became interested in this uniquely charming man.

"Jimmy, why don't you come home with me tonight?" Michael tugged at his tie.

After some feigned hesitation, Jimmy reluctantly agreed.

In the hallway, Michael couldn't wait to kiss Jimmy, who passionately responded while texting me.

"Gillian, it's done."

Seeing the message, I couldn't help but smile. This was just the beginning of my revenge.
