Chapter 5 The Cursed Alpha Is My Enemy: 05

Rena:

I'm right in front of the grand entrance to the massive mansion, right behind the guy who kidnapped me a few days ago.

Minutes ago, I was willing to do anything to run away from this horrible place, but now, I'm about to give him the help he needs.

I glance at his back as he reaches for the knob, but suddenly stops and stares at me for a moment before finally opening the door.

When I step inside, I'm more than fascinated by the place. It takes for me a few moments before I realize that this place is real.

When you step inside, you can feel its size right away. In front of us there's a large staircase leading up. My eyes travel around to notice a big fireplace crackling, sending warmth through the room.

Before my eyes can take in more beautiful details, I hear the man who brought chaos in my life clearing his throat, interrupting me.

I glance at him, then look down immediately, closing my mouth, and only follow him upstairs.

As we head up, I can see a long hallway, with rooms on either side. The owner of this palace must have a fortune.

He continues to walk silently, as I follow right behind him, although my eyes weren't focused on his back anymore, but were roaming all over the place.

And suddenly, he stops which causes me to bump to his strong back and backway instantly. I blush and look down, while he stares daggers at me.

"Are you blind or something?" he curses under his breath, and I glare at him furiously.

"You're the one who stopped walking" I argue, he frowns, surprised by my tone.

You're like a wall, you can't blame people for that!!

"Hey, you know what..." he starts, pointing a finger at me, as if he just heard my silent thoughts.

"Alpha Logan..." A girl interrupts us.

So that's the monster's name? I have to admit I'm a bit shocked, I expected something more like Hulk or Shrek to be honest.

I hold a laugh, and he snaps his head immediately towards me, his eyes staring at me as if he wants to tear me apart.

"Yes?" he asks, his voice as annoyed as hell, before looking again towards her.

"Lexi just blacked out" The brunette girl from earlier says, her voice is shaking, and her eyes filled with tears.

I don't wait for Logan this time to lead the way, instead, I immediately run towards the brunette girl, and follow after her, leaving Logan pinned to his place.

As I walk into the room, I see the brunette girl lying on the bed, a huge wound running down her stomach, with blood covering her clothes.

"Shit..." I mutter, then glance at the worried girl next to me, "your sister?" I ask, rushing to Lexi.

"Yes..." her voice barely audible, "I need your help" I say and she nods.

I look around to notice that the room is prepared already with all the medical supplies I need to use.

"Who Prepared all of this?" I ask as I place the gloves on.

"No one, the room is always prepared, in case of an emergency" she answers, "like this one" she adds sadly.

I start to examine the wound carefully, swallowing hard and trying to take a deep breath, "Is it bad?" she asks, her voice trembling on the verge of tears.

"What's your name?" I ask changing the subject, "Claire" she answers seeming confused.

"Remember when I said I need help?" she nods, "Okay, go get me... strong antibiotics" I order. She gives me a questioning look.

"There's plenty in here" she answers hesitantly, but I give her a serious glare, "Your sister can't wait" I raise an eyebrow, and she nods instantly, leaving the room.

I sigh, I had to get her out of the room, I can't do my job if she keeps asking nonstop questions.

The wound is deep, and it's clear that it wasn't caused by a knife.

I start to control the bleeding, by pressing a clean bandage against the wound. After a few minutes, I sigh in relief when I notice that the bleeding slows down.

Suddenly someone enters the room, I don't look up to see who it is, because his height makes his presence known.

I can feel his eyes staring at me "As much as I adore you standing right there watching me, I'd love it if you come and give some help" I offer him, and he immediately walks across the room.

"What can I do?" he asks, rubbing his neck.

Watching him rubbing his neck kind of distracts me, and I have no idea why...I look away towards the medical supplies on the table beside the bed, "wear the gloves first" I order.

"I hope you know what you're doing" he threatens, leaning towards the table, and starts placing the gloves.

I'm not sure how to put this in the right way, but...I suddenly find it amusing to watch every move he makes. Leaning, placing the gloves, and the way his lips twitch whenever he speaks.

I look down immediately, closing my eyes shut for a few moments.

"Are you okay?" he asks, somehow concerned.

"Define okay" I glare at him, "I've never seen anyone ask his hostages if they're doing okay" I blurt.

He squints, forming his lips in a thick line, then looks away.

"Keep the bandage pressured" I order, and he does as I say.

I start to prepare the tools I'll use to stitch the wound, and tell Logan it's time to check if we stopped the bleeding.

We're both relieved, and somehow, he seems happy and relieved.

I then cover the wound with a sterile dressing and gently clean the area around it with water. I sigh, feeling the sweat gather on my forehead and down my neck.

I can feel Logan's eyes on me, but I don't let it distract me.

I look up at her face, she has some bruises on her forehead, and down her legs, but I need to finish taking care of this wound on her stomach first.

I start stitching the wound carefully, thank god she's unconscious, this is going to hurt as hell!

As I stitch her wound, I remember my job last year at the hospital, watching doctors taking care of wounds and taking notes the whole time. Nothing was wrong with the job, I loved it!

But I couldn't continue to work there anymore: It's because of my supervisor, a man in his fifties who made me think twice about nursing.

His name was Alan, he was abusive and arrogant. I'm sure he was a pervert as well, because he has put me in uncomfortable situations, more than once.

And don't even get me started with long shifts! After I confronted him, he threatened he would give a bad report, which could affect my good grades. I eventually kept my mouth shut, and focused on my studies and the horrible job.

That's why I'm still considering whether to work as a nurse or not.

My train of thoughts is suddenly interrupted by Logan's deep voice.

"You sure you're alright?" he asks, his voice filled with concern.

I shake my head, "I will be, when I'm home" I say, staring back at his amber eyes, his face is a bit surprised by my words...
