Chapter 5 Pregnancy

Freddy's POV

What was I thinking telling her I was keeping her hostage? Despite my thoughts,I still kept to my words. Her bold approach the previous night caught my attention and the truth about her treacherous fiancee and best friend made my blood boil. She was no acquaintance of mine but I wanted to understand her and keeping her by my side was a brutal but satisfying decision.

I glanced at her and noticed something. She looked pale

"Are you okay?" I asked but the moment she looked at me,she collapsed. I was quick to hold her and instantly,I carried her in my arms.

"Boss,what do we do?"my bodyguard asked which made me hesitate for a moment. Taking her to the hospital was risky for my image. The house was the best choice

I walked up to my car where the second bodyguard was waiting for me and placed her on the back. I sat right next to her and looked at the driver "To the Mansion"

Few minutes later,we arrived at the house and parked in the garage. One of my men came to carry her but I declined

"I'll take her in myself"

We got to the doorstep and the door opened up before we could ring the doorbell. My butler, Reginald, stepped out and bowed

"Welcome home,Master" he greeted and looked at the unconscious woman in my arms.

"This is.. ugh" I coughed slightly to hide the fact that I didn't know her name.

"She's my guest" I declared coldly and walked into the house. I place her on the sofa and scanned the surroundings.

"Reginald. Tell the maid to prepare a room for the guest" I ordered with a low and firm voice.

"Master,for how long is she going to stay with us?" Reginald asked

"For as long as I see fit. Make sure her room is next to mine" I replied curtly

"Of course,Master. I'll inform one of the maids" He uttered and walked away.

I dipped my hand into my pocket and brought out my phone with the intention of calling the physician. I couldn't be blamed for her condition.

"Dr. Louis. Your attention is needed at the mansion" I ordered and hanged up without bothering to listen to his reply.

I turned to look at one of my bodyguards and asked after my right hand man "Kyle,where's Desmond?"

"Erm... We haven't seen him since we got to the club" Kyle responded.

His reply made me scoff with disgust. The idiot had walked into that club with me last night but had sneaked away to play with the ladies. He was the exact definition of a playboy. He was surely getting a earful from me when he's back.

"Master,the room is ready" a female voice called out to me

"Good!" I complemented her and carried the unknown lady to the prepared room.

When I had reached midway on the staircase,I glanced at Kyle "Let the doctor in when he arrives"

I thrusted the door open and walked in,placing the fragile looking woman on the large bed and used the duvet to cover her.

I ran my fingers through my hair and stared at her pale skin, wondering what exactly I was doing. I knew how dangerous it was bringing her into my world,but my desire to keep her was persistent.

A soft tap on the door broke my train of thoughts. I asked the visitor to come in.

"Dr. Louis,you came on time." I uttered with a hint of sarcasm in my voice. He knew best not to voice and greeting to me and glanced at the woman.

"She's the one" I confirmed his thoughts.

He walked up to her and placed his finger on her wrist. "What happened exactly?"

"She suddenly blacked out" I replied

"And the bruises on her face?" He probed further

"I don't know" I replied with a flat tone. I truly didn't know since she came to me covered in bruises. I had a feeling she was beaten but that was an issue for later,when she had woken up.

The doctor brought out his equipment from his briefcase and examine her thoroughly.

"The bruises are intentional not a fall or any form of accident" He stated,with an underlying meaning in his voice.

I raised an eyebrow "the bruises are definitely not the reason why she collapsed,is it?"

"No,it isn't. There's something else" He spoke with a hint of evasiveness in his gaze.

"Out with it" I snapped, losing my patience

He removed the stethoscope from ear and sighed,his gaze on me

"She's pregnant" He declared.

"What!" I gasped in shock and stared at the doctor feeling confused. How was that possible when we only had an affair the night before. It was definitely not mine.

"She's actually a month pregnant" He added which confirmed my doubts. If the pregnancy wasn't mine then it definitely for her cheating fiancee.

"Damnit!" I cursed slightly. The pregnancy was a huge stumbling block. Keeping her hostage wasn't going to be easy but since the fiance was a scumbag,it didn't really matter.

"Treat the bruises" I declared and he got to work immediately. I wasn't going to hide the news from her but I was also not going to let her leave. I just hoped she wasn't stupid to think she could go back to the scumbag because of the pregnancy.

When the doctor was done,he looked up at me and said "her passing out shows she was involved in a strenuous activity which drained her totally. You should be careful next time"

I threw a hard glare at him and he shut his mouth up instantly. Was he trying to make a fool of me?

"Leave the details of her diet and other things she needs with the butler. I'll check it later. You can leave" I waved my hands dismissively and he left immediately.

I stared at the lady for a while,my thoughts blank before taking my leave.

"Reginald. Tell one of the maids to prepare a meal for the guest before she wakes up" I said as I trotted downstairs to meet the butler.

"Yes,Master and Mr. Rye has arrived. He's waiting in your study room" He stated and I nodded in approval and headed to my study room to deal with that man.
