It wasn't entirely his fault since his vehicle had failed to stop but the lady however, identified two people in the car that day, a man and a woman. Unfortunately, Jason wasn't himself that day and couldn't tell who was with him in the car. Yeah, I know, he made a simple mistake however we couldn't afford to bring down the entire Watson family name because of it. We needed someone to take blame for it, someone we could trust but at that crucial moment when we needed her the most, she betrayed our trust. The judge had ordered that Jason provided the witness he mentioned in his defense before the week was up but now she had bailed. I couldn't bear this, I couldn't let her off so easily. If only that woman hadn't revealed the sex of the other person in the car that day. Kayla thought she was free, that she could run from her responsibilities as my wife? I couldn't let that happen, not while I'm alive. That evening, I texted Caitlyn asking her if she wanted to hang out. She responded shortly saying, "Yes ofcourse." I mean, who could really resist my charm? I picked her up from her place, and we soon arrived at Sativa Chow, the restaurant where I had proposed to Kayla. Yes, you guessed it. History was about to repeat itself. We went in, placed our orders, and I attempted to propose. However, we were interrupted once again by that troublesome fat devil, crying as if I gave a fck. I was really glad that she was present here. Glad she could see how easily replaceable she was. I was about to start belittling her myself when Caitlyn did it for me so effectively that I nearly burst out laughing. We were interupted however by that guy who claimed to be her boyfriend and since they both left together, all I could think about was relive that scene over and over again. I needed to understand why he would want to date a freak like her. "Hey are you okay?" Caitlyn's voice jolted me, snapping me out of my thoughts. "What?" I responded, feeling like she had been talking for ages. Her cheerful smile quickly faded as she seemed upset with me, however I wasn't about to apologize to a mere woman. I remained silent, waiting for her to finally say something, which she did shortly. "Don't tell me you're jealous of them?" she asked, as I shook my head in response. "Why would I be? Look at how fat she is." Caitlyn and I bursted out, laughing together and as our laughter subsided, I couldn't hold it in any longer. "I can't believe he'd stoop so low for someone like her." I added. Caitlyn scoffed, responding with a question. "Wait, don't tell me that's what's bothering you, Eric?" "No, it's not it," I responded before admitting to it. "Well maybe it is, a little." Caitlyn reached out and touched my face gently with her hands, rubbing my chin. "First of all, she doesn't deserve you. You're better than him, yes you are. Second, do you really think he's her boyfriend? From how you described her reaction when you asked her to leave your place, he's probably just a childhood friend or something. Her boyfriend my foot, like seriously? Who's buying that?" A big smile appeared on my face as soon as she said this. That was just what I needed to hear at the moment. I wasted no more time, taking out the box, kneeling down on one knee, and asking her if she would be my wife. She quickly responded saying, "Yes, I will." I slipped the ring onto her right-hand ring finger, and then applause erupted in the room. They were the regular patrons who came to eat and I ended up paying for their meals as it's always good to acknowledge people with brains. That night, I couldn't sleep with the thought that Kayla had tried to trick me. She had the balls to lie to me and I was going to deal with her. Tomorrow marked what would have been our third anniversary and I I smiled at the irony. I didn't even realize that I had kicked her out just a day before our anniversary, but perhaps it was for the best. I turned around to the side of my bed where Caitlyn was already asleep. We just had sex and I guess she was tired however there was no rest for either of us, not until the fat b*tch returned and fulfilled her duties as my wife. "What?" Caitlyn murmured in a sleepy voice as I kept patting her until she opened her eye. "How about we get married tomorrow?" She didn't quite catch me yet due to her sleepy eye however her expression changed the moment she finally understood what I was saying. "Wait.... what?" I nodded smiling hoping she'd be grateful however her next response provoked me slightly. "Eric, we just got engaged. What's gotten into you?" I couldn't believe she said this to me. Most girls were usually happy when proposed to and now she was acting like the black sheep. "Yes Caitlyn," I replied. "We got engaged but what's stopping us from getting married tomorrow?" "Eric, what about the paperwork and legal procedures? Those usually take time." "Money solves everything Caitlyn, It has to be tomorrow." I pleaded. "Wait, is this because of Kayla? Isn't tomorrow supposed to be you guys anniversary?" Caitlyn replied finally getting my point. I nodded silently, awaiting her decision.
