Chapter 5 Episode 05

-Lena's POV-

It's late, after putting the kids to bed, I decide to go downstairs for a drink before going to bed as my mind is all over the place.

I go to the sitting room and see Zoey drinking a glass of whiskey, I walk to the kitchen to get my glass and join her in the sitting room.

I gulped down a glass of whiskey at a go.

"hhhh...." I sighed.

"What's wrong, anything the problem?" Zoey questioned.

"I..." I sighed again, contemplating whether or not to tell Zoey that I had received a letter from Alpha Leo of Moon Shadow pack requesting that my help is needed to eradicate the disease that had befallen them.

"I got a letter from Moon Shadow pack saying they need my help to find a cure to the disease that is affecting and killing them, I..." I didn't finish as Zoey cut me short

"Wait, Moon Shadow pack? Do you mean the Moon shadow pack we know of? Alpha Leo?" She questioned

"Hh... yes" I replied with a frown on my face

"What the f*ck, what does he want from you now? Rejecting and publicly humiliating you isn't enough for him, what else does he want" Zoey says very furious at the news, she's just as angry as I am, If not even more furious than I am

"So Lena tell me, are you going to accept the request?" She asked with a sad and worried look on her face. I could tell she was genuinely worried about me. The past six years haven't been easy but Zoey was with me all the way, I understand that she's worried that Leo might try something funny, putting me back in the state I once was again

I look up at her

"Never, I'll never help Alpha Leo, not after everything I went through in his hands," I say trying hard to hold back the tears threatening to fall

Zoey breath a sigh of relief

" Lena, it's ok, you know what's best for you, whatever decision you make I'll support you"

I hug her, holding tight onto her " Thank you, Zoey, thank you for everything you've done for me, thank you for the encouragement" I tell her holding back hot tears, honestly Zoey has been the best gift anyone would wish for

It's been a week now, I went back to my normal daily activity, going to work and picking up the kids from school when I had the chance, but at the back of my mind, I had this foreboding feeling that this wasn't over with the moon Shadow pack.

I wrote back to Leo telling him I couldn't help him, that I had prior engagements, but I know Leo, even though he doesn't know that I'm his Selene if he's determined to get me to help the pack, he won't relent.

I drove into the building in my red Ferrari, eager to see my little devil, I parked at the car garage

"Mommy"

"Mommy"

"Mommy"

They say in unison as they run towards me with their Nanny right behind them and Zoey smiling at me. I bend down to get a closer look at my babies

"How are you? Hope you had fun in school today"

"Yes mommy" they replied

"Have you had your dinner?" I ask them as we all walk back into the house.

The three of them get quiet Immediately and stare at the floor, not looking at me.

"Liam? Have you and your siblings had dinner?" I ask the eldest of my three munchkins.

He finally looks up at me with his cute hazel eyes that remind me so much of his father. "No momma, we wanted to have dinner with you." He tells me, and Immediately, the other two look up at me with the same cute looks on their face.

Well, there's no way that I can get mad now. "That's so sweet of you guys; all right, let's go have dinner; it's already late, and you guys are supposed to get ready for bed."

We all head to the kitchen, deciding to have dinner there instead of in the dining. The nanny and Zoey have already prepared dinner, so I help them dish it, and we all have dinner today.

Because it's already past their bedtime, the kids are already getting cranky so I ask the nanny to bathe them and put them to bed.

"Goodnight my babies," I tell them, kissing all three of them on their foreheads.

"Goodnight momma." They tell me with their sleepy voices.

They all go ahead of their Nanny, and she's about to leave with them when she turns around. "Lena, this letter arrived for you while you were at work today." She tells me, handing me another letter with the Moon Shadow pack seal on it.

"Thank you, nanny," I tell her and then she leaves the kitchen to go and take care of the kids.

"Is that what I think it is?" Zoey asks me with a look of anger on her face.

"Yes, it's another letter from the moon Shadow pack, from Leo. I knew this wasn't over." I told her I hoped that that feeling I had all week was wrong, but this letter proved me wrong.

"So are you going to open it or are you just going to continue staring at it?" Zoey asks me.

"If I don't open it, I could just pretend that I never actually got it," I tell her, but a part of me wants to know what the letter says.

"You have to open it, Lena," Zoey tells me always being the voice of reason.

I break the seal and open the letter. I read the contents for a few minutes, and when I was done, I let out a huge gasp.

"What is it, Lena? What does it say?" Zoey asks me and you can hear the anxiousness in her voice.

"It's Leo; he said he's willing to give me half of the pack's land and wealth if I'm able to find a cure," I tell her and then give her the letter for her to read herself.

When she's done there's also a look of shock on her face. "Well, this certainly changes things; him offering you half of the pack's land and wealth must mean that things are really bad, and he's desperate, so what are you going to do?" She asks me.

"I have no idea."
