"Mr. Thomas, don't you have caregivers?" Emily widened her eyes, looking utterly bewildered. "We're not really married, so isn't it inappropriate for me to help you bathe?"

She had thought Ethan was cool, aloof, and proud, not a pervert. However, the reality turned out differently than she expected.

"The caregiver left yesterday. My father sent someone to drive her away." Ethan lifted his eyelids slightly, speaking coldly. "Today was supposed to be the day I married Harper. It should have been her taking care of me, but now it's you."

Emily fell silent.

She bit her lip, wearing a look of extreme reluctance.

She hadn't expected that marrying Ethan would mean she had to act as his caregiver.

She thought, 'Am I a free labor for him? This man hasn't clarified anything beforehand!'

Ethan's deep black eyes stared silently at her, and he spoke heavily. "If you're unwilling, you can leave now."

Emily furrowed her brows and thought, 'Is he kicking me out? I haven't even touched the study's door handle yet. How can I possibly leave willingly? Fine, I will bathe you. I am not the one getting naked anyway. You will end up embarrassed.'

"Mr. Thomas, I'll move you to the bathroom now," Emily forced a smile, swiftly pushing Ethan to the bathtub.

She bent down, filled the bathtub with water, and then stood facing Ethan, stuck in a stalemate.

Ethan's indifferent gaze rested on her, realizing that she looked like she was ready to meet her end heroically.

He had initially thought she was bold, but he didn't expect that she was actually timid and weak.

"When we find a suitable caregiver, you won't have to do these things anymore," Ethan said in a subdued voice.

In truth, the so-called caregiver didn't need to help him bathe.

But he brought this up to confirm one thing.

He thought, 'Is Emily really sent by them as a spy? Although it is highly unlikely, I need 100% certainty. Even if she isn't, I need Emily to know that I am genuinely disabled to prevent her from revealing this information to others.'

At this moment, Emily's eyes lit up after hearing his words.

If they found a caregiver tomorrow, she would only need to help Ethan bathe once.

Thinking of this, she felt less uncomfortable.

She nervously reached out and touched the buttons on his shirt.

The black gem-like buttons were cold, sending a slight electric shock through her fingertips and into her body.

"Mr. Thomas, let me help you undress first," Emily said aloud, already starting to unbutton.

Ethan's strong abdominal muscles were exposed as his shirt was unbuttoned, causing Emily to furrow her brows immediately.

She thought, 'His physique is perfectly proportioned, but.'

She was well-versed in human anatomy and naturally understood one thing. A disabled person couldn't have such a fit body.

Emily's face showed suspicion.

She was suspicious that Ethan might be pretending to be disabled. Perhaps he wasn't disabled at all.

At that moment, Ethan's deep voice suddenly rang out, "Faster."

Emily snapped out of her thoughts. All the buttons of the shirt had been undone, and she helped him take it off.

Next up was his pants.

She thought, 'If this man isn't disabled, why does he insist on me helping him bathe? What is his intention? Is it simply a psychological aberration? Or is it to deceive me, so I will firmly believe he is disabled and won't expose the truth?'

Emily couldn't figure out Ethan's thoughts. But if it was the latter, as long as she obediently helped him bathe now, there wouldn't be any problem.

"Well, Mr. Thomas, should I unbutton your belt?" Emily pursed her lips, pretending not to know anything.

But now, her face appeared somewhat tense.

If she continued, she would inevitably have to see Ethan completely naked, which was quite embarrassing.

Ethan frowned slightly, "Go open the door."

Emily hurriedly dashed out of the bathroom, reaching the door to open it. It was Ethan's assistant, Byron.

"Byron, are you looking for Mr. Thomas?" Emily asked curiously.

"Yes, Mrs. Thomas," Byron nodded.

Although he looked down on Emily a bit and felt she wasn't worthy of Ethan, now that Emily was officially Ethan's wife, he couldn't neglect her.

Ethan wheeled himself over, asking coldly, "Byron, what's the matter?"

Byron walked over, bowing respectfully to report, "Mr. Thomas, it's about Mr. Bob."

After speaking, he subconsciously glanced at Emily, hesitating to continue.

Ethan's cold gaze swept towards Emily, saying in a low voice, "You are done here. Go back to your room."

Emily was stunned, asking eagerly, "Mr. Thomas, you don't need me to help you bathe anymore? Then... can I just go back to sleep in my room? Byron can help you bathe?"

Byron widened his eyes in surprise, completely losing his usual polite demeanor. His originally crisp voice turned sharp, "Bathing?"

Ethan cleared his throat.

Byron's face was full of shock, not daring to say another word.

He thought, 'How is this possible? Mr. Thomas actually lets this ugly woman help him bathe? Could it be that Mr. Thomas, who has been celibate for many years, is starting to be interested in women?'

Byron couldn't believe it.

Emily awkwardly smiled, thinking that Byron was unwilling to take on this unpleasant task. She avoided Ethan's direct gaze, weakly casting her eyes towards Ethan, as if waiting for his decision.

"With Byron here, I don't need you," his cold voice carried a chill.

With these words, Emily's face lit up, and she quickly slipped away.

The bedroom fell into immediate silence.

Byron adjusted his glasses, still in utter shock. He stammered, "Mr. Thomas, she... she..."

"I was just testing her," Ethan looked at him disdainfully.

Byron suddenly realized what was going on. He slapped his forehead and realized that he almost made a fool of himself.

Ethan frowned and immediately asked, "What do you need?"

Byron quickly regained his composure and said, "Miss Harper stood you up because Bob was causing trouble behind the scenes. He is now involved with Miss Harper."

Ethan had a total of eight siblings. He was the youngest one who didn't have any kids.

Bob was the only son of Ethan's oldest brother, William Thomas. He was a complete fuckboy.

Ethan narrowed his black eyes and said, "It's time to teach Bob a lesson."

William's family had pulled many tricks on Ethan in the past.
