Chapter 5 Do's and Don'ts

The searing sound in my head continues like a banging sound almost knocking me out that I had to hold onto a pole for support.

The look on Alpha Callian's face suddenly changes as he shakes his head like he was used to me drooling over him and if one looks further, you'll notice the disgust in his eyes.

" Luna Anika, I wasn't expecting you" the boy I assume is the gamma says but my eyes were on Callian as he walks farther into the hall room which has suddenly gone silent on his arrival. I notice Ivan glaring daggers at him as did most of the Alphas but none dares to utter a word.

" Let the vote begin. I don't have all day"Callian says as a matter of fact. The host quickly snaps her finger and a large orb drops off from the sky and stopped in the middle of the room then it cracks open like an egg revealing more than a thousand squares that made it an orb. Each alpha of a pack comes forward to take a box from a chamber of their choice. I don't understand what's going on but I'm guessing that's how they cast votes in the alphas' meeting.

Odd.

" Manny, what are they doing?" I shamelessly ask. Manny looks lost and clueless as well.

" No idea. It's my first time attending an alpha's meeting" he says all giddy and I sigh looking at the handsome man in the room who regarded me as thin air. After a few minutes in their midst, I realize he doesn't talk much.

Cool.

It may not be part of my plan but I want to think alpha Callian is an auspicious being. I'm intrigued by him. He thinks he's tough, I'll like to see what he's made of.

The votes continue till the next morning in favor of I don't know. I have tried sneaking out of the silent gathering but the gamma was unto me like a leech I can't scratch.

Lunas are exempted from the meeting though I don't see why. No wonder Anika left. It's all about the Alphas. I'm sitting amongst the lunas of course as they chat on. My gaze is still on the host and the annoying man that approaches me earlier.

" Who invited Ivan?" I ask one of the Luna sitting close to me. She turns to me.

" I wonder. Are you sure you don't know because he's been staring at you since you got here " I peel my eyes away from her to look at Ivan then shrug? The organization didn't mention him so, I don't know about that.

" So it seems. I'll like to get some air" I tell her then stands up from my seat to receive a call from my handler.

" Luna, no one is allowed to go out. It's the rules" Manny says blocking my path. Feeling defeated I take my seat respectively without an argument.

By four o'clock in the morning, they were done so I was going to ride with Callian to the pack hopefully.

This wasn't how I imagine my first time in the celestial moon packs but it's fine. Chugging my last glass of wine, I scurry to meet Stephen and Callian on their way to the Chevrolet Silverado parked in the parking lot only for him to stop in his track staring at me.

" Alpha said to remind you of the rules and regulations of the pack," Stephen says as quietly as possible but I wasn't looking at him anymore. My gaze is on the Alpha whose car has almost disappeared.

Am I not going with him?

" What rules demand an Alpha to ride without his Luna? " Stephen huffs in annoyance probably not pleased with me challenging him. Luna are above beta's the last time I checked though I have forgotten about the shifter's ways.

" You're to speak when spoken to, and appear when summoned by the alpha only. Get in the car Luna. You have been summoned " he states giving me apologetic look while Manny curtsies leading me to a nearby car. I can't fathom the possibility of Anika being treated like a slave but I'll like to think it's nothing like that. So, I followed Stephen and Manny to the car. Manny stepped on the brakes tailing the alpha's car.

We arrived at the underground garage where Callian's private jet was kept. It's nothing like I have seen before, it has the symbol of a bird; a soaring eagle and a dragon breathing out fire. The jet is black and white with a massive size and design. It reeks of wealth. My throat is suddenly dry thus I cleared my throat.

" Shall we?" Stephen says leading me inside. I wouldn't want to blow my cover. I'm Anika, the Luna of the celestial moon pack and all these luxuries are my lifestyle. I have been flying in private jets for two years now. So, the big black and white bird isn't a new thing. Squaring my shoulders, I climbed up the parallel stairs entering the plane.

" He's this way," Stephen says still trailing behind me. I keep my eyes open, and straight. I didn't ogle at the dazzling interior design like I should my gaze is on the road.

" What does he want? I have performed my duties as Luna to his people just as he wanted. What now?" I ask him. If I know Anika well, she'd be scared to face him. Are they in a platonic relationship?

" I have no idea. My job is to follow my Alpha"

" What about me? I'm your sister" I snap. He wasn't like this before.

" You made your choice when you rejected your mate to be with Callian. I told you that you're on your own. You got what you wanted. Didn't you little sister? " My face turned livid at his words. I was short of words for about ten minutes when I was about to respond to him, we were in a luxurious bedroom with only neon lights as a source of light in the room.

Alpha Callian is seated in a high chair like a king he is with a glass of wine in his right hand.

" Alpha " Stephen curtsied while he waves him off. I didn't want to do it but a nudge on my thigh from Stephen had me bowing down to him as well. He nods suddenly on his feet now.

" Tell the pilots, we're ready," he tells Stephen.

" Yes, Alpha, " the beta says then leaves me with this dangerous man that looks like starlight or should I say the morning sun.

" Ann, you seem to have forgotten the rules and regulations of the pack because you're becoming a star amongst the humans " his baritone voice resonate through the poorly lit room.

" You said I'm free to pursue my dreams" I answer him right away.

" How about I refresh your memory? Savannah will be thrilled to have a duel with you again maybe you'll learn your lesson afterward" A duel? Wait who is this Savannah?
