Chapter 5 My child is dying

After two days, I was still in the prison cell with my baby. That doctor almost made me scared by telling me my baby was not going to live anymore. That was simply not true. She was still alive but not bubbling.

I tried all the best I could to escape from this prison and I made all the plans I could. All to no avail.

'Why could I not activate my wolf powers. If I did, I could call my beta and ask him to activate a portal for me,' I thought to myself.

I then tried to use my wolf claws to see if I could penetrate the lock and unlock it like I see in the movies. 'I can do this," I thought to myself.

Just then I heard some whispers and I got back to my normal human shape as to not alert the guards.

"Did you hear what happened? Alpha Ethan has denounced Luna Ariana Jessica as the Luna. He has put her sister Jessica as the Luna," guard one said.

"What! How did you hear about this?" Guard two asked.

"The news is everywhere. How would you hear when your ears are always inside a woman's legs," guard one attacked and the three of them laughed out loudly?

"I'm not surprised. I always knew that Alpha Ethan had a wandering eye when I caught him lustfully looking at my wife," the third guard added.

The way they laughed and spoke about it broke my heart more than the news itself. I had now become a laughing stick for people to laugh and throw jabs at.

Once the rejected Luna is now a reason for laughter and mockery amongst these people.

My anxiety about this condition kept growing with each passing minute. It was as if they put a knife to my heart.

"Somebody please help," I coped but with a small voice that no one could hear.

"Moon goddess please send someone for me that will come to help me," I kept praying with whispers.

Helplessness began to overwhelm me as tears began to stream down my face.

Just then I heard a powerful presence as it began to walk toward my cell in the prison.

'Could that be Ethan? Has he come to mock me again? No... he may have come to torture me like he did with other prisoners,' I thought as I shook inside of me.

My heart beat faster than a horse running and my pulse was vibrating. My eyes started to get dizzy and sweat started to run down from my face.

It was as if my skin should just jump out of my body and my spirit should run out of my body leaving me lifeless.

Then something happened. That shadow. that was not Ethan. He was not that tall. It was.... No. I am mistaken.

Could that be Ethan's brother Cole?

I looked up and low and behold like a god in the midst of lightning I saw Cole standing before me.

'So, he was truly up and active like Jasmine claimed. Why was he not in his cell? Why was he walking around? Why is he wearing a white robe like he was a god?'

All of these thoughts ran through my head.

I was shocked and I almost pissed my pants because I thought I saw something else.

"Cole...c..c.. is that you?" I asked as I looked up to him from where I knelt inside the cell.

Cole could smell me as his wolf but since some of my wolf abilities were disabled, I could not tell.

It was that magnet that drew him to come closer to see who was his mate that was locked up.

He looked equally surprised to see me. Then he glanced at my child that was lying on the floor on a dirty mat, almost out of breath.

"Cole, what are you doing here?"

"Hi Ariana! Long time no see! Is that how to treat a brother-in-law?" Cole asked me and stretched his arms out.

"I know you're not serious Cole. Can't you see I'm locked up?"

I was surprised at first but Joe all sorts of thoughts started to come into my head. Thoughts of how to rescue my child. Thoughts of whether I should trust Cole or not.

Thoughts of how to get a portal and leave his place for good. Thoughts of giving my daughter a safe treatment or handing her to someone that can take care of her.

This could be my only chance to be in touch with the outside world and save my child.

"Cole please before we exchange pleasantries there's a serious matter at hand," I said to him as I turned around and glanced at my child.

"My daughter is almost close to death. I want you to help me save her life. We will talk later. Please take her to a pack far from here," I pleaded to him.

Cole looked at me and smiled. He looked more handsome than when I last saw him.

"I will help you but you must promise me three things," Cole said to me.

"Yes! Whatever you say I will do. Your wish is my command!" I said desperately to him.

He did not say anything.

I was confused and I struggled to trust him but if this was the only way to save my child then so be it!

Cole pushed the cell door and it opened! Just like that and I had been trying!

He walked up to Alana, picked her and with a speed of lightning, they were gone. How he did it, I did not know.

I waited for him to come back as I paced around the room helplessly. I was lucky that no guard came to check on me.

Night came and I saw a bright light at the corner and out from the light came Cole. He walked up to me to tell me that my daughter was safe.

"Alana has started responding to treatment, she has now eaten and is getting better. In a week or two she should be back to her old self."

Relief was taken over me and just as I closed my eyes to thank the moon goddess, Cole disappeared. I opened my eyes and could not find him.

Just as I prepared to sleep, I heard someone footsteps coming in through the prison door.

It was Ethan and he was roaring with anger and walking like he wanted to go for war.

"Where is that whore? I will chop off her legs!"
