Chapter 5 Fated Mate

Aron was taken aback by Aiden's sudden request to return immediately to the university. They stood before their father, Falcon, the leader of the Blood Pack, who had informed them that his life was in danger and that they needed to act quickly to understand Rico's plan, the leader of the Dark Pack. Yet, strangely, Aiden showed no sign of concern or tension. On the contrary, he appeared calm and smiling, as if he knew something no one else did.

Aron asked in confusion, "We're leaving our father here? Knowing he could be assassinated at any moment?"

Aiden smiled, that smile that always meant he knew more than he let on, and said, "Yes, we'll leave him for now."

"But... why? Who's the girl that made you change all your plans so quickly? How do you know her?" Aron's frustration was growing, as if he was trying to solve a puzzle without any clues.

Aiden raised an eyebrow and smirked slyly. "You'll know everything soon, Aron. It's only a matter of time. Just wait."

Aron, irritated, retorted, "Wait? We're playing with fire here, Aiden. Our father's life is at risk, and you talk as if you're sure of everything. What's going on, for heaven's sake?"

Aron wanted to protest, to demand a clearer explanation, but there was something about Aiden's calmness that suggested he had everything under control. In the end, there was nothing Aron could do but follow him, eager to uncover the truth.

On their way back to the university, Aiden changed course and headed toward the forest, the shortest route to their destination. Yet there was something strange about Aiden's behavior; he seemed different-calmer, more expectant.

*****************

Elsewhere in the forest, Liana was preparing herself to carry out her mission. The plan was flawless, and Rico had placed his full trust in her. She knew the forest would be the quickest path to the Blood Pack, far from prying eyes and any potential pursuers. Every step was calculated, and her goal was clear: reach the pack and complete her mission.

Liana moved through the forest with steady strides, her anxiety mixing with her determination to succeed. The thick trees obscured her view of the outside world, giving her a false sense of security. But she had no idea what was about to happen next.

As she made her way through the forest, she suddenly stopped when she saw Aiden standing between the trees, smiling as if he had been waiting for her. Beside him was Aron, looking at her with eyes full of curiosity.

"What... what are you two doing here?" she muttered to herself, but there was no time to think. She couldn't move, as her feet were suddenly trapped in an invisible net. She tried to free herself, but the net was tightly sealed.

She shouted angrily, losing her composure, "Damn you both! Are you watching me? Who the hell are you?"

At that moment, Aron stepped forward and helped her out of the trap. His tension was evident, but he didn't hesitate to say, "I'm Aron, son of Falcon, leader of the Blood Pack. And this is my brother, Aiden."

Aron's words hit Liana like a bolt of lightning. She hadn't expected to be standing before the sons of the pack leader she was assigned to assassinate. She glanced toward Aiden, who was still smiling, as if he knew everything that was going on.

Aiden broke the silence with a mischievous smile and said, "Don't worry, we weren't watching you. In fact, this place is a favorite of mine. I always come here to think, away from the noise. I didn't follow you intentionally."

Liana was still in shock, trying to process what had just happened. Her mind was racing with unanswered questions. Could it be that Aiden knew something about her mission? Or was it all just a coincidence? But that mysterious smile on his face made her doubt it.

She swallowed hard and said, "A coincidence? Really? In this place, at this time?"

Aiden chuckled softly and, in a calm yet confident voice, said, "Believe me, if I wanted to watch you, you wouldn't even know."

Aiden approached with steady confidence, so close that she could hear the sound of his breathing from this distance.

"Why do you always look like you're about to run away?" he asked in a deep, calm voice, his tone laced with sarcasm.

She looked at him, trying to maintain control of her emotions. "I'm not running from anything."

He moved closer, his eyes scanning her as though he was trying to uncover her truth. "Maybe... but I can see you have secrets you don't want anyone to know."

She stopped, facing him with a sharp gaze. "And what business is that of yours?"

He gave a small smile, though the coldness in it was unmistakable. "I think things are going to be difficult for you here... especially if you're hiding something."

"I know exactly what I'm doing, and I don't need your warnings," Liana said coldly, attempting to end the conversation.

But he didn't back down. Instead, he stepped even closer, now just a few steps away from her. "You're different, Liana. And I know there's more to you than meets the eye."

"I don't care about your analysis. Get out of my way," she said firmly, though her voice held a faint tremor of tension.

He looked at her deeply, then, in a low voice, said, "Maybe you don't care now, but you will soon."

A slight fear crept into Liana's heart, but she skillfully concealed it. She couldn't afford to appear weak in front of them, especially not in front of Aron, who was watching silently, alert to every move.

She made a quick decision within herself: "I have to abort the plan now."

The situation had become more complicated, and Aron and Aiden's presence made carrying out the mission nearly impossible. She needed to retreat, rethink her options, and decide how to proceed in the next stage.

But, before she could even fully catch her breath, something unexpected happened.

In a strange moment, Liana heard a voice inside her head. It wasn't just a passing thought, but a strong proclamation that echoed in her mind: "Mate... mate."

Her eyes widened in shock, and she quickly looked towards Aiden and Aron. Their expressions were frozen, as if they had heard the same voice.

Aiden could hardly believe that Liana was his mate, which explained his initial attraction to her and his decision to monitor her. At that point, he had discovered her plan to assassinate his father. But this was nothing compared to the realization that Liana was also Aron's mate.

Aiden was on the verge of losing his mind as he stared at Aron and Liana, especially at his brother Aron, who had been waiting for his mate. Could it really be that one girl was the mate of two people? But how?

The voice was clear... there was no room for doubt. It was a direct announcement of something inescapable. The bond of fate had been revealed.

Liana took a step back, her heart pounding. What did this mean? And how was she tied to both brothers?
