Chapter 4 Dark Schemes

After their intense encounter with Liana on campus, Aiden and his brother Aron made their way back to their pack, the Blood Pack. The journey from the university to their territory was long, but it didn't matter. They knew they were returning to the heart of power and control, where the strongest pack leaders gathered under the banner of their father, Falcon, the Blood Pack's alpha.

The Blood Pack was no ordinary pack. For generations, it had ruled with an extraordinary force, blending the physical strength of werewolves with the cunning and tactics of the underworld mafia. The kingdom of the Blood Pack was marked by strict discipline; its laws were unquestionable. Betrayal was punished by immediate death, and every affair was handled with absolute secrecy. In the pack, loyalty to family was the highest principle, and maintaining power was the ultimate goal. Any threat to the alpha or the pack was met with swift and ruthless retaliation.

The Blood Pack carried an aura of fear that surrounded it, intimidating all other packs. Its power extended beyond the wolves among them; it reached into the criminal underworld. They didn't just rule forests and mountains; they were also a mafia controlling the night and the black markets. They traded in weapons and information, manipulated the flow of money and drugs across pack borders, and infiltrated human societies without anyone realizing their presence.

Aiden and Aron were a part of this immense force. Born into the ruling family of the Blood Pack, it was expected that they would take over the leadership one day. Both brothers were distinguished by unique abilities. Aron was known for his immense strength and massive physique. He was called "The Rock" because he stood unshaken before any enemy, no matter how dangerous. He was an unbeatable warrior in direct combat, his heart filled with courage and loyalty to the pack.

Aiden, on the other hand, was different. His strength wasn't just physical; it lay in his intellect and cunning. He was called "The Mastermind." He excelled at manipulating minds and planning with precision. He could foresee strategies before they were executed and predict enemy moves before they even thought of them. His unique ability to read people and anticipate their actions made him invincible in situations requiring complex strategies.

Together, Aiden and Aron complemented each other. Aron was the physical strength, and Aiden was the strategic mind. Together, they were the unstoppable force of the Blood Pack, and all other packs knew that standing in their way was futile.

Despite all this power, strict laws governed life within the pack. Loyalty to family and the pack was the fundamental rule, and any betrayal was met with immediate punishment. Every member of the Blood Pack understood that obedience to the laws was non-negotiable. Even the closest friends or family could become enemies if they challenged the order. And at the top of this powerful hierarchy stood their father, Falcon, the undisputed alpha.

"Aron, do you think we'll return here one day as leaders?" Aiden asked slowly, his eyes gazing out over the vast distances ahead of them.

"Of course. It's our destiny. The Blood Pack accepts nothing less than greatness, and you know we are part of that great power," Aron replied confidently.

"Power isn't just in muscles, Aron. We rule both here and in the underworld. Things are more complicated than they seem," Aiden said in a calm tone, trying to emphasize the importance of intellect alongside strength.

"Don't forget, I'm also quite skilled at dealing with enemies-just in my own way," Aron answered with a slight smile.

When they reached the borders of the Blood Pack's territory, they entered the main courtyard, where the atmosphere was thick with tension. The pack knew something big was coming, and their eyes were fixed on what the future would bring. At the center of the courtyard, their father stood on the main platform. His strong features reflected an undeniable authority, and his sharp eyes surveyed everything around him. His power and dominance were evident in every movement he made.

As he saw them approaching, he motioned for them to step forward.

"Aiden, Aron," he called in a deep, steady voice, then looked closely at Aiden, as if searching for an answer Aiden had long anticipated him asking. "There are suspicious movements from the Dark Pack. Rico, their leader, isn't planning anything small this time. We need to know what he's plotting before they strike."

Aron stood beside Aiden, his features tense. Known for his physical strength, he wasn't comfortable with the sudden news. Unlike Aron, Aiden remained calm, his composed demeanor unshaken. Aron glanced nervously at their father, the weight of the revelation clearly unsettling him.

Aiden's lips curved into a sly, quiet smile, his tone so calm it only deepened Aron's unease. "I know what Rico is planning," he said softly, turning to face his father. "He wants to assassinate you, Father."

His father's eyes widened slightly, but his expression remained unchanged. He knew things had escalated with Rico but hadn't expected Aiden to possess this information. Aron, on the other hand, stood frozen, shock and disbelief written across his face.

"What? How do you know this? And who will he send to carry out the mission?" Aron's voice trembled with disbelief.

Aiden chuckled, as if the matter posed no real threat to him. "I've heard enough to know Rico is serious about his plan. This isn't just a rumor, Aron. He intends to kill Father, and he's already sent someone to do the job." He paused, savoring the confusion in Aron's eyes while their father remained silent, waiting for Aiden to continue.

Aron was still stunned. "What? How do you know that? And who did he send?"

Tension rippled through Aron's voice. "Do you know who it is?"

Aiden met his gaze calmly. "Yes, but it's not about who, Aron. It's about how we play the game."

Aron raised an eyebrow. "A game? We can't just wait and see what happens. We need to stop this before it's too late."

"Not yet, Aron. Rico thinks he controls the game, but I'm planning something bigger. Let things unfold a little," Aiden said firmly, addressing everyone present.

"If you know who was sent, why don't we act now?" Aron asked, though his tone carried hesitation.

"I know who he sent," Aiden continued, his voice now even quieter. "But I don't have all the details yet. She's part of his game-a game he wants us to play."

"She?" Aron's voice quivered, struggling to piece the puzzle together. "You know who she is? He chose a girl to assassinate Father?"

Aiden's smile widened, and his eyes gleamed with a touch of irony. "Yes, I know. But that doesn't matter right now. What matters is what we do next. Rico thinks he can control the game, but I have something far greater in mind."

Aron was about to speak but stopped, sensing that Aiden wasn't in the mood for discussion. Aiden's plan was slowly taking shape, and as the decisive moment neared, he felt increasingly in control of the situation. Their father observed him carefully, as if trying to decipher what was going on in his mind.

"So, you have a plan, Aiden," their father said quietly. "And you're confident it will work?"

"Everything is going according to my plan," Aiden replied confidently. "Rico thinks sending her will tip the balance in his favor, but he doesn't realize that I've already anticipated his moves. What's coming will work in our favor."

Aron looked at Aiden skeptically. His features reflected his tension and unease with Aiden's actions, but Aiden didn't care. What mattered to him was one thing: control.

"Aiden..." Aron hesitated, "If you know who she is, why don't we stop her? Why not alert the pack and prepare?"

Aiden's smile returned, this time tinged with mystery. "Because we're going to use the situation. Let Rico think he's advancing. Let's see how far he thinks he can go. Then, we'll crush him when the time is right."

Their father nodded, as if fully understanding what Aiden meant. Aron, however, remained silent, still uneasy. His tense features revealed his doubts, and it was clear he was starting to realize that Aiden was planning something far beyond his expectations.

As they left their father's meeting, one thing was certain: perhaps, just perhaps, Aiden was the one truly in control.
