Ignoring the stares, I chose the seat farthest from everyone and closed my eyes. The exhaustion from the morning's rush caught up with me, and sleep took over.
THIRD PERSON POV
Eve's entrance had an undeniable impact on her classmates. Conversations halted mid-sentence, and all eyes turned towards the new arrival. Her cold demeanor and the way she carried herself intrigued and intimidated the others. As she walked to the back of the room, a sense of curiosity spread among the students.
"Do you think she has powers? Her ID is blank," whispered Lyra to her friend Marcus.
"Maybe she's just a late bloomer. Oh, maybe she's hiding something," Marcus replied with a shrug.
Another group of students, led by a boy named Daniel, watched Eve with a mix of curiosity and skepticism. "She's got to be powerful," Daniel said. "You don't walk in with that kind of attitude unless you've got something to back it up."
As the minutes ticked by, the teacher finally entered the room, calling the class to order. "Good morning, Aether section. I am Professor Luke, and I will be your instructor for Magical Theory and Application."
Professor Luke then addressed the class, "Since we have a new student, we will start by introducing ourselves. Please state your name and your power or ability if you have discovered it."
One by one, the students stood up to introduce themselves.
"I'm Lyra, and I'm a water user."
"Marcus here, I have telekinesis."
"I'm Daniel. I'm a fire user."
Some students had impressive abilities, while others were still discovering theirs.
"I'm Rachel; I can talk to animals."
"I'm Alex; I have no powers yet."
"I'm Clara. My ability is healing."
When it was Eve's turn, Professor Luke called her to the front.
"Miss Eve, please come forward and introduce yourself."
Eve walked to the front of the room, her cold gaze sweeping over her classmates. "Eve. I'm 20," she said, her voice devoid of emotion.
A curious student named Alex couldn't help but ask, "Do you have any powers?"
Eve's eyes narrowed slightly, and she responded sharply, "Find out for yourself." She turned back to Professor Luke, who nodded and gestured for her to take her seat.
The introductions continued, with a mix of students revealing their powers and others admitting they had none or were yet to discover them.
When all the introductions were finished, Professor Luke resumed teaching. But the tension in the room was palpable.
"She's scary, isn't she?" Lyra whispered to Marcus.
"Yeah, but she seems strong. Maybe she's hiding her powers," Marcus replied.
In one corner, Daniel and his friends were also talking. "I'm sure she's powerful," Daniel said. "We just have to wait and see."
Eve, aware of the whispers, ignored them. She had no interest in proving herself to anyone.
As the class drew to a close, Professor Luke dismissed them with a wave of his hand. "That's all for today. Don't forget to review the fundamentals we discussed. See you tomorrow."
The students began to pack their things, and Eve stood up, heading toward the door. She could feel the eyes of her classmates on her back as she left the room, but she didn't care. Her next destination was the cafeteria.
The hallways buzzed with students moving to their next classes or taking breaks. As Eve walked through, a few students recognized her and whispered to their friends. Others simply glanced her way, unsure of who she was.
Upon arriving at the cafeteria, she noticed a mix of familiar and unfamiliar faces. Some of her classmates from the Aether section were there, while others were from different sections. The room was filled with the hum of conversations and the clinking of cutlery.
As she stood in line to get her lunch, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning around, she saw a girl with piercing blue eyes and a knowing smile. "Hi, you're Eve from the Aether Section, right? I'm Lila from the Arcane section. I've heard about you."
"Yes, that's me," she replied coldly.
"You're the princess of the Vampireous Kingdom, aren't you? Why did you suddenly change? But you're still the weak Ezra, haha," Lila said, her tone mocking.
Eve calmly replied, "Yes. So what?" Her tone held a hint of challenge, undeterred by Lila's mockery. Then she turned away, indicating the end of the conversation, grabbed her tray, and moved towards an empty table.
Just as Eve was finishing her meal, the headmaster's voice boomed through the cafeteria speakers. "Attention all students. Today's classes will be a half-day. Please return to your dormitories or enjoy the rest of your day. All teachers have an important meeting to attend. Thank you."
The cafeteria buzzed with excitement at the unexpected announcement. Students quickly finished their meals, some heading back to their dorms, while others planned to explore the campus.
Eve stood up and went to her dorm.
EVE'S POV
As soon as I entered my dorm, I threw my bag onto the sofa. It had been only a half-day at school, yet I felt utterly drained.
I decided to go to the enchanted garden. In an instant, I teleported there. Upon arrival, my eyes were drawn to a striking purple tree. Its presence was mesmerizing. I settled beneath its vibrant branches and, with the cool grass beneath me, closed my eyes and drifted into sleep.
The garden's magic whispered promises of rest and peace, and for a moment, I felt truly free.
I woke up sensing a presence from the Darkous Kingdom. There were three of them. I stayed calm and pretended to be asleep, waiting for their next move. Suddenly, the three men attacked me.
I jumped up from my spot and drew my dagger. The first man was quick, but I was quicker. I dodged his attack and swiftly slashed his side, drawing blood.
The second one wielded a sword and charged without hesitation. I evaded his strike, rolled on the ground, and attacked his leg, causing him to collapse.
The last one seemed to be the leader, moving with caution and precision. We exchanged blows, his sword clashing against my dagger. I found an opening and used my speed, spinning around to plunge my dagger into his shoulder, making him scream in pain.
With all three of them down and wounded, I didn't hesitate. I drove my dagger into the first man's heart, ending his threat permanently. Then, I turned to the second one, who was trying to crawl away. I finished him with a swift, decisive stab.
The leader, still reeling from the pain in his shoulder, was the only one left. I grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the tree.
"Why are you here?" I demanded, my voice cold and steady.
He glared at me, refusing to speak. I tightened my grip, pressing the blade of my dagger against his throat.
"Talk," I ordered, but he remained silent, his eyes filled with defiance.
Realizing I wouldn't get any information out of him, I made a swift decision. With a quick motion, I ended his life as well, my dagger finding its mark.
As their bodies lay emotionless on the ground, I took a deep breath, wiping the blood from my dagger.
I couldn't help but feel irritated that my rest had been so violently disrupted.
THIRD PERSON POV
A woman was walking toward the enchanted garden to rest. However, upon her arrival, she was shocked by what she saw-three lifeless bodies sprawled on the ground. She gasped in terror and hurried to the headmaster's office to report what she had witnessed.
HEADMASTER THADDEUS' POV
I was in the office, busy organizing upcoming events such as student leveling and the missions for each section and royalty. The royalty missions had just concluded, and they were scheduled to return in two days.
While I was preoccupied, the door suddenly burst open. I looked up calmly and saw a student standing there, clearly flustered. I asked her seriously, "What are you doing here?"
garden, Headmaster," she stuttered.
I was shocked by her words. Why was there a dead body in the garden? I quickly asked, "Where in the garden?" and accompanied her. When we arrived, I was astonished by what I saw. These were not ordinary bodies-they were personnel from the Darkous Kingdom.
My mind raced, contemplating how the Darkous Kingdom personnel had entered and what their purpose was in the enchanted academy. And above all, who had killed them?
THIRD PERSON POV
Several students and teachers had gathered around the enchanted garden, murmuring and wondering about what had happened. The news of the bodies spread quickly. Everyone felt a sense of unease, questioning whether they were still safe within the academy.
Headmaster Thaddeus, along with the reporting girl, began to investigate. He needed to understand how the Darkous Kingdom personnel had entered despite the academy's protections. As he examined the wounds on the bodies, he noticed the cuts and injuries-swift and precise, seemingly inflicted by a skilled warrior.
It was not far-fetched to think that there might be a student or teacher in the academy capable of killing so quickly and quietly. He needed to find out who it was before the entire academy descended into chaos.
It's already morning, and I have plenty of time, so I decided to cook my meal first.
After eating, I took a quick shower and changed into my uniform and glasses. I also put on my ID, noticing that one of my abilities, teleportation, was listed on it. The academy must have detected that I used it, which is why it's now included on my ID.
As I stepped out of the dorm, I saw many students walking and chatting. It was still early, with thirty minutes left before the first class started.
I walked toward the room with cold eyes and a daunting presence, hearing them talk about me but choosing to ignore it all.
THIRD PERSON POV
As Eve walked, she overheard whispers among her fellow students, but she paid them no mind, focused on her own path.
'Who is she?'
'Her presence is intimidating.'
'I heard she's the new student in the Aether section.'
'So she's weak? Yet she's terrifying.'
'Didn't you hear yesterday in the cafeteria? She's the weak princess of the Vampireous Kingdom.'
'So she's the one chasing after Prince Blaze?'
'Shh, quiet down; she might hear you.'
'So the nerd b!tch is back, but she's different now.'
'I heard from the other students that after she attempted suicide, she lost her memory.'
'Is that why she's like that? Or maybe she's just pretending because the royalties are coming back.'
With all the gossip she heard about herself, only one thought stuck in her mind: 'So the royalties are back.' Tss, hearing the word 'royalties' makes my blood boil, remembering what they did to this body. Even though I don't care, if they dare to disturb and hurt me, they'll find out what I'm capable of,' she thought to herself as she walked toward her room.
