Chapter 5 Time To make my Return Known

It was a sunny day at LaGuardia Airport, one of the biggest airports in New York City. People could be seen walking in and out of the airport with their luggage, while a lady could be seen walking out of the airport premises with her luggage, black glasses covering her eyes, and a white hat covering her hair.

Once she came out, she started looking around as if she were looking for someone. After looking for some minutes, she brought out her phone and was about to place a call when someone tapped her on the shoulder. Without hesitating, she turned around to see who it was. Once she saw the person, she widened her eyes in surprise and screamed "dad!!!" before leaving her luggage and hugging the person tightly.

"And here I was thinking that you didn't miss me," Richard Sarah's uncle asked her as she was hugging him.

"Of course I didn't miss you," she said to him with a frown before disengaging from the hug.

"Because of you, I had to leave my perfect life in England and come back to New York City," she said to him while feigning to be angry. Richard, seeing how cute and dazzling his niece looked after all these five years of her absence, couldn't help but smile at her act.

"Are you sure that you didn't miss me?" He asked her with furrowed brows.

"Maybe a little bit," she said to him with twisted lips.

"Come on, admit it already; you missed me," he said to her, and she sighed heavily.

"Ok, I admit it, I missed you. Now are you happy?" She asked him with a frown.

"Of course I'm happy. Do you know how hurt I could have been if you were serious when you said you didn't miss?" He asked her, and she eyed him because of his childish behavior.

"Now that I have admitted that I missed you, can we start going already before this hot sun burns my beautiful skin?" She asked her uncle while massaging her hand as if the sun were really burning her skin.

"Since you left for England, has someone ever told you that you have become excessively troublesome?" Her uncle asked her before picking up her luggage and walking ahead of her.

"Well, many people have noticed it, only that they don't have the guts to say it to my face," she said to her uncle while following him from behind, and immediately he stopped and looked at her.

"Why that?" He asked her.

"Because I have the money and I can ruin the life of anyone who says that to my face just with a snap of my finger," she said to her uncle, who looked at her for some minutes before turning around and walking to the car without replying to her.

Once they arrived at the parking lot, Sarah noticed that his car was still the same as the one he had been using before she left for England.

"Come on, Dad, don't tell me that you have been using the same car all these years," she said to her uncle, who was putting her luggage in the car. With that, he turned and looked at her before sighing heavily.

"You see, Sarah, I know that you have the money, just as you said earlier, and you can change your car on a daily basis if you want, but don't expect me to do the same. I'm getting older and weaker day after day, so I don't see any reason why I should be lavishing money on myself like when I was in my early thirties," he said to her before opening the door of the car.

"Well, you might think that you are already old, but to me, you are still a young man in his early thirties, and if not for the fact that we are related, I would have married you," she said to him before opening the door of his car and entering inside the car.

"Well, I wouldn't have agreed," her uncle said to her before igniting the car and zooming off.

"Why not? Am I not beautiful, or am I not rich? Who would reject such an offer?" She asked her uncle, who was concentrated on the steering wheel of the car.

"Me, I would have rejected the offer because I'm a man, and I'm the one who is supposed to ask a lady to get married to me, not the other way around," he said to her before looking at her through the central mirror.

"Whatever, Dad, I'm still sure that there are thousands of men out there who would have accepted the offer," she said to her uncle before bringing out her phone that was ringing and picking up the call.

The ride back to the mansion lasted thirty minutes. Once they drove into the mansion, the maids came out and helped Sarah take her luggage to a room that had already been arranged before her arrival.

Meanwhile, Sarah was still on the phone, assigning some tasks to her assistant. Leaving her uncle behind, she walked into her room, where she stayed, and ended the call.

Afterward, she went to the bathroom and took her bath before joining her uncle in the sitting room, where he was busy watching the news being displayed on television.

"It's really hard being the CEO of a company, right?" Her uncle asked her after she sat down on one of the sofas facing the television.

"Yes, of course, but I'm already used to it," she said to him before looking at the news being displayed on the television. They were discussing an auction that was going to take place in the evening, and many billionaires in the country were going to be present. She didn't need to think twice before knowing that Xavier was going to be present; he loved events like this one where he could show how rich he was.

Richard, noticing the look on her face, quickly understood what she was thinking about, and with that, he shook his head in disbelief.

"You aren't going to participate in that, or are you?" He asked her with an inquisitive look.

"Hopefully you already know the answer to that question; it's time to make my return known in New York City," she said to her uncle with a wicked smirk.

"Unbelievable," he muttered before shaking his head in disbelief.
