Chapter 5 A feeling of Regret

Regina could not believe it.

She had fucking slept witha Massimo Gomez.

The past few days have been hell for Regina. Starting with her recent heart break to the fact her sister made a wrong deal which affected the company and her father currently battling with his health and then some of the shareholders and partners were planning to pull out if the situation was not fixed before the press got a hold of the information...It was all too much.

It was a mess.

David had explained to Regina that the only way to fix this was to get D&D company to work with them. They were known to be resourceful and the largest corporation in the whole of Metropolis and tonight, Regina had planned on securing a deal with them for Queens.

That was why she had come to this event.

The event happening at Frankie's hotel was a high-profile industry event and she had gotten access with the ticket her dad had sent the day her world tumbled.

There were rumors that the CEO of D&D enterprises had returned from South Korea and he will be in attendance at this event.

So it was very important that she made a good impression.

It had been going well until she was introduced to Massimo Gomez.

At first, she had not recognized him until they had shaken hands. And a memory of her being driven to glorious orgasms with that hand flashed across her mind and she remembered.

He was the guy from the club.

Regina felt flustered, embarrassed and pissed at the time but she had decided to feign ignorance.

He had pissed her by being condescending with Queens and she had quickly used that as an excuse to leave him and his knowing smirk.

She tried to remove him from his mind by immersing herself in networking.

As the event began to wind down though, a deep voice whispered into Regina's ear. "Regina, could I have a word in private?" Mafia commanded. That thick Italian accent immediately sent shivers down her spine.

She hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Of course."

They moved to a quieter corner, away from prying eyes and ears. Regina silently watched as he reached into his pocket and pulled out her clutch, holding it out to her.

"I had been carrying it around just in case I ran into you." He paused and continued. "It's a small world you know."

She bit her lips. The universe had a sense of humor. Until she had sex with this man, she had never seen him before. Now, in less than two weeks of sleeping with him, she was seeing him again.

"Thank you." She could only say to him though and was about to leave when he held her arm, causing her to stop.

"There's more, Regina." His voice was husky and low.

She stared at her with wide eyes, eyebrows raised and her expression skeptical. "More?"

"I know about your company's situation," He said. "And I know you need help. I can provide that help, but it would come at a cost. We both know nothing good would come from the media catching wind of your company's crisis."

Her eyes flashed with anger. "Who the hell gave you false information?"

"Is that really important at the moment?" He asked sardonically. "I am a man of many things. I can get what I want by just a snap of my finger."

Regina took a step back, clutching her purse tightly. "I don't care who you are, but even if you were right, I can handle my company just fine."

"You sure?"

When she refused to answer, he gave a scoff and left

She tried to steady herself as she watched him go. "I really need to make a good impression. I can't let Massimo ruin this night for me."

Then she exhaled deeply before walking back into the ballroom

Regina searched around for the CEO of D&D Enterprises from where she stood and found him. Anticipation running down her spine, she made way towards him. The man, who was obviously in his sixties, stretched forth his hands the moment he saw her.

"Isn't that the beautiful Miss Jones?" Mr Lonard, the CEO of D&D enterprises said. "I have heard a lot about you"

He hugged her briefly. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

"And the pleasure is all mine, Mr Lonard." She returned the hug and he placed a kiss on her cheeks.

"You are indeed beautiful."

She laughed softly. " Oh well, thank you. You don't look bad yourself."

They both laughed.

"I received an email from your secretary, walk with me." He took her by the hand and led her towards an elevator.

"Where are we going?" Regina asked as he pressed the twelfth floor button.

"Be patient, Miss Jones."

As soon as they got to the twelfth floor, he brought out his key card and placed it on a door that had a TEA room written on it.

"Shall we?" He ushered her in.

The moment Regina walked into the room all thirteen eyes were on her.

She could recognize two faces, they were people she had worked with before on different projects but one familiar sea-blue caught her attention.

It was Massimo.
