Chapter 10 Meeting Elena Keaton

"How dare she!? How dare that bitch?!", Kate yelled, when James the news of Nicholas engagement to Vivian.

"Mother!, We should have met Nicholas's mother earlier", Evelyn bit her nails pacing around the parlor.

"Impossible, she must have seduced him, that whore"

"That is good ,that good for nothing girl would bring back what we have lost", James said , resting comfortably on the couch with his huge stomach.

"Tell me father, what is it that we have lost?, What is it that Vivian can do that I can't!", Kate asked her father, Evelyn gave James a glare telling him to shut up.

"There's only to do this", Evelyn said, "what mother?", Kate rushed, Evelyn patted her head.

"We'll just have to make Elena hate Vivian to the point she has to cancel the engagement, then you will be the next bride", Kate smiled satisfied with the plan.

"Rubbish, you would do no such thing!", James objected,

"Why, so you choose that useless daughter of yours over Kate?", Evelyn shot back.

"She's the only hope to restore our family back, don't act rashly and look for another man like one of Nicholas's friends".

"but why father, I want Nicholas, what is it that Vivian is restoring that I can't"

Ignoring Kate , Evelyn said, "don't worry about that, Kate would bring more value than what Vivian can", James placed his hand in his huge stomach rubbing it , 'if Kate marries Nicholas, he has more advantage, Vivian can decide not to help him or even choose to abandon him.

"No problem but make sure your plan works", he stood up and left, Evelyn scoffed at him, she has gotten rid of him, it will soon be time to get rid of him for good.

"Mother I'm going to shop for a dress for tomorrow's meeting".

"Get a decent dress, so Elena won't look down on you"

"Don't worry Mother", Kate said and hurriedly left the house.

Elena Keaton looked at the two women before her, they called saying it's an urgent meeting, but five minutes has passed and no one has spoken up.

"Are you going to talk or should I leave?", she asked, Kate looked at her mother who nodded.

"Congratulations" Evelyn said, Elena raised an eyebrow,

"For what ?"

"You don't know?", Evelyn said faking surprise, everyone knows Nicholas and his parents are not in a good relationship.

"I mean everyone knows even the press", Kate joined,

"knows what?, Speak up or else I'll leave", Elena said growing restless

"That's not necessary, since your son didn't tell you we will"

"My son?, What did Nicholas not tell me that the world already knows?"

Evelyn Loved the distorted look on Elena's face, she never liked the woman, Elena always flaunt her wealth on everyone face even when her husband cheated on her, she still held her head high and looked down on other women.

"Your son is Engaged to my step daughter Vivian", Evelyn announced, Elena laughed, gulping down the wine she said,

"That's impossible, I have a perfect woman for him to marry, he can't marry just anyone", Kate frowned, 'she has a woman for Nicholas already?',

"well it's the truth, it's on the news", Kate said, showing Elena her phone, Elena frowned l, clenching her fists under the table.

"so what is this about?, shouldn't you be happy that he's going to marry your daughter?", Kate scoffed,

"This is my daughter, that wretched girl is not my daughter, we have disowned her, now she has seduced your son for his money"

"But you still haven't told me why you called me here"

"we want you to end the engagement", Kate voiced out

"and why should I do that?, What would I gain?, What so you really want Evelyn?", Elena asked uninterested in the conversation, she can just make the girl disappear without lifting a finger.

Evelyn sat up " We want you to get rid of that bastard girl and get Kate to marry your son", Elena snorted then coughed to cover it up,

"You want me to do everything, then what would you do?", Kate glanced at her mother then back to Elena,

"We would get rid of her our selves, you just have to convince Nicholas to marry me",

"convince?, Why can't you get Nicholas to fall in love with you", standing up

"I will be the one to decide that".

"So we are partners?", Evelyn asked , Elena rolled her eyes,

"Get rid of that daughter of yours first", she said and walked out.

"drive", pulling out her phone she dialed a number

"get me every information you can gather about the woman Nicholas is engaged to".

It's about time she gives her son a visit.
