Chapter 5 Who is she . 2

Rowan~~

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even realize I was near Ella's dorm until I looked up to find my brother coming out of the building's side alley with a girl I didn't recognize. Any idiot could tell what those depraved people had been doing there-they didn't even try to hide it. He was zipping up his pants while she was fixing her skirt.

He would never be the same again...

Reiner looked at me with a grin and then winked. I just rolled my eyes and continued on my way to the dorm, ignoring the two of them. He had barely set foot here and had already claimed a victim, or whoever she was.

Used to the breathless sighs of girls around me as I walked toward the stairs, I ignored them and went up to the room I was used to visiting. Room 88. I knocked on the door, and it didn't take long for Ella to open. "Hi."

"What are you doing here?" She crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow, and I just laughed. She knew me too well to guess what I wanted. And she really didn't like it.

"Can you make me a potion for the pain?" I got straight to the point, knowing Ella didn't like it when I beat around the bush. I had known her since we were little, considered her like a sister because we grew up together, and I knew her secret abilities.

Ella was the result of her mother's affair with a sorcerer, a secret that few people knew and even fewer dared to speak aloud. Because of this, she could create some potions that helped our people, that helped me.

"You said you'd stop with this," she muttered, closing the door behind her as she stepped into the hallway. "Rowan, if you don't take care of your mental health, this will never get better."

I knew that, damn it, I knew that all too well. But it wasn't as easy as she made it sound. It hurt, it burned like hell to think I had to stop thinking about all the good things I shared with Lowen.

"Just this one last time," I pleaded, my breathing heavy and labored.

Ella stared at me for a few seconds, analyzing my face before finally giving in to my request. To my relief, and to her dismay. "I think I have something in my bag downstairs. Go to your room, and I'll bring it there."

She walked away without waiting for my response, and I watched her figure disappear from my sight. I was going to wait. She could have given it to me right there in the hallway, and I could have gone into the forest and found peace.

Just one more time...

I knew this could become an addiction, and that I had to overcome it myself, but coming back to the academy after all this time hurt, and I couldn't handle that pain today.

I heard the door behind me open, and shortly after, a body collided with mine. I tensed up. Who the hell was Elara hiding in her room? Was that why she didn't want me to wait? Was she hiding someone in there?

But before I could get angry and yell at whoever it was, their scent hit me first, and all the anger drained away: vanilla and chocolate. For some unknown reason, my heart thumped hard, then raced. It was as if the scent was familiar, but I had never smelled it before in my life...

All I could do was turn around to face the person behind me, curiosity and fear slowly creeping through me.

It was a girl.

One I had never seen at the academy or anywhere else I'd ever been, and I'd been to many places.

Her eyes were slightly widened as she stared at me, eyes of such a crystalline blue that they didn't seem real. Her face was softly rounded, her cheeks plump and flushed, her skin smooth and pale like porcelain, and her lips were full and so red that it was almost ridiculous how much it made my throat dry.

Some wet strands of her bangs fell over her eyes, stuck to her skin. Her hair was white, but towards the ends, it turned black, though not too dark, reaching down to her waist. I had to suppress the impulse to brush the strands from her face. What the hell?

"Who are you?" I asked, curious and confused. Where had she come from? How had I never seen a girl like her before?

I had never seen her in my life, and I was sure of it. I would have remembered such a striking face, without a doubt.

She blinked a few times, still staring at me as if I were some kind of monstrous animal in front of her, and bit her lips, causing me to stare at them immediately. My heart faltered...

Her innocent movement made me glance down even further, beyond her mouth, and that's when I realized she was only wearing a towel in front of me. A small, white towel that barely wrapped around her body. I swallowed hard as I stared at her beautiful legs.

A towel was all that stood between my eyes and a sight of her bare body, and for some bizarre reason, I wanted to see it.

Was it getting hot in here?

Jax growled in the back of my mind, snapping me back to her eyes before she could think I was a pervert.

Why had Jax done that?

The girl seemed to snap out of her own trance. "Oh my god," she whispered before rushing off, brushing against my arm roughly as she darted into the room across from me, leaving me completely confused and shaken.

What the hell was that? Who is she?
