Chapter 4 The crystal orb

As Lena reached out to touch the intricate mechanism, the room fell silent, as if holding its breath. The air seemed to vibrate with anticipation, like the quiet moment before a storm breaks. The shadows cast by the flickering torches appeared to twist and writhe on the walls, like living things.
