Chapter 4 4

It was evident to him that Valeria had no idea about his identity or she would have recognized the frequently appearing name on the famous magazines. Moreover the great Markos Moreno had been reigning the headlines ever since he sold his start up business for 50 million dollars.

The man was known for his exceptional character and brain cells, that's why many influential families wanted their daughters and sisters to get married to Markos.

The man had a good reputation and success, moreover the sources Markos had were enough to deal with Carla if she made any kind of mess. But his hands were tied because Markos was unable to find any woman to introduce to his family.

He didn't want to deceive his family or to fall for the wrong woman which made him immune to love or any kind of infatuation with women in general. Now that Valeria had successfully snagged his attention with her innocent behaviour and truthfulness Markos knew that he had found his 'first love' and perhaps bride-to-be.

Valeria shook him back and wiped off her tears herself, she seemed annoyed at him for some reason.

"What are you doing? Don't you think you are crossing your line, sir!?"

She shouted at him sarcastically, Markos was aware that she didn't hear his conversation with Carla about calling off the marriage.

"You are getting married to my friend today and you are messing with me here."

She stepped back and sniffed while her glaring eyes caused some uncomfortable sensation within Markos. He found himself drawn to her as well as worried about making her angry.

The man knew imminently that he was doomed and the woman in front of him was now the master and conqueror of his heart!

"I'm sorry, but to disappoint you I'm not getting married to your friend anymore. She might have already left the hotel and went back home."

Markos narrated her to news which made Valeria guilty even more, her expressions which reeked sadness and innocence made Markos aware of what might be the cause.

"Hey, don't you think you should be happy that you just saved a life by barging here? Your friend was literally treating me as her servant and a favourite toy to play with his heart!?"

Valeria deep down knew that Carla was emotional and a hotheaded woman but she never expected her to cross her limits.

"And now that I'm not getting married, may I ask what's your name?"

Markos grabbed her hand and took the lady towards the bed, while he knelt on the floor stark naked. Valeria told her name and Markos recognized her immediately, she was the daughter of his father's friend who had just arrived from abroad.

A smirk appeared on his face and Markos took her both hands and squeezed them gently, while the lady wrapped in duvet sheets looked up at him. Valeria didn't expect Markos to utter those words which blew her mind like a fuse box blackout.

"Miss Valeria Silas, will you marry me?"

Markos was confident in his naked proposal and expected the lady sitting in front of him to accept his bold love confession!

Valeria was stunned upon his sudden proposal, that she couldn't recover from his bold words. The lady pulled her hand and shouted at him while her voice was a bare whisper which could not manifest her own frightful emotions clearly.

"What!? Are you nuts?"

Markos stood up and smirked mischievously, while lovingly replying to the woman who had taken his heart in just one sight and night.

"For you? Definitely."

Afnes couldn't take his bullshit anymore which was definitely seeming like a joke to her.

She stood up from the bed in a jiffy and was about to leave the room when Markos reached for her hand. His further words startled Valeria and she had no clue how to react to the realization that the man standing in front of her knew so much about her.

"I know Mr Silas is having trouble with the business and he is on the verge of going bankrupt."

Markos gently pulled her and Ages felt herself heavily breathing upon the remembrance.

Markos could clearly see that she was faking everything since the dress on her was a copy and the purse she was having was also perhaps borrowed from someone. Moreover his sources were fast enough to tell him about everything related to the business world.

The man immediately grasped her identity just when Valeria told her name, he knew that her face was familiar but where he did he see her was unknown. Markos recalled everything about the auction where he saw her, when Mr Silas was on the heights and bought the expensive jewelry for his daughter.

Valeria turved around with a fearful gaze; she did not think that somebody would notice her that easily, since her father was ill already and the business was being taken care of by her brother who was having troubles.

"I can help you with the business. I'm aware that your brother is having a hard time turning dirt into gold, but you know that Markos Moreno can do it within the snap of his fingers!"

Valeria could not figure out was he proposing to help her out of praising himself? But for some reason she actually considered his proposal, she had nothing to lose except her life! Hereby I ask you should Valeria jump in the mess knowing that it would definitely trap her for life?

"Why are you willing to help you? And why do you want to marry me in exchange?"

Valeria stated the confusion of her mind in front of him, although Markos knew that she was not a stupid woman. But the way she behaved earlier was not expected from a witty woman like her.

Markos urged to ask her about the reason why sfe was heavily drunk but he did not want to scare her by asking so many questions.
