Chapter 5 Attacked by Wolves

Hazel was now in the carriage,with three other people travelling to Borreve, she watched as the trees passed them.

At Bougreve, the weather looked normal as it wasn't cloudy but the sun didn't come out. They traveled for about seven hours before they finally reached Borreve but they were still at the forest area in Borreve, it would take about another hour to reach the main town.

The trees in the forest were taller than those in Bougreve with birds on their branches singing in their various voices, there were trees at both sides of the carriage, meaning that they we're riding along a path road. Looking in the forest,it looked deep and scaring.

Hazel decided to sleep for the nth time since they started their journey,she dosed off with her head by the window. Some minutes later, the carriage suddenly stooped jolting her from her sleep, everyone came down to see what happened only to realize that two wheels were broken and almost beyond repair. Everyone brought out their luggage's since they had two options left, either they wait for the next carriage passing or the walked to town. The others waited for the next carriage but Hazel knowing fully that she didn't have much money on her to board another carriage decided to walk.

She picked her luggage and the cage where relles was as she walked further ignoring the scary forest. She had walked a good distance when she began hearing howls from the forest, it echoed on the both side so she didn't know where exactly it was coming from. She walked faster as the howls kept repeating, she knew walking on the open plain road wasn't a good idea but also going into the forest wasn't considered an option even though it had an advantage of being able to hide behind the trees. She decided to go into the forest but but carefully following the path road so she wouldn't miss her way.

The howls continued even more leaving shivers down her spine, she couldn't take it any more and ran into the forest and by the time she stopped running, she was lost, she felt sweaty, she dropped her luggage and held relles tightly

"Relles I'm scared" she said "I Dont really know where we are in this forest". She then heard growling sounds and when she turned back she saw two wolves behind her. She froze for some seconds before running as she held relles closer, the wolves immediately chased after her, she ran like the wind not caring that she lost her luggage. She ran past trees deeper into the forest which wasn't good news, she then tripped and fell with the wolves right behind her, there was no way of escape.

They came closer and closer as Hazel decided to accept her fate, at least she could go meet her parents but the awaiting bite didn't come, she opened her eyes to see that they weren't looking in her direction any longer. Hazel traced their eyes to see that a man was standing there with four wolves, this was kinda good and bad news,the good news was that he could save her and the bad news was that if he decided not to.

Surprisingly,the wolves that we're behind her went towards the mans direction, she gulped when she realized that they weren't attacking him rather he was caressing their heads. Later he raised his head to look at her in the eyes.

'Shit, whoever this man was is a true definition of, handsomeness, I mean he's literally oozing out sexiness and those eyes, is...'

"What are you doing in the forest all alone" he said cutting off her thoughts

"I wasn't planning on coming to the forest" she said standing up as she dusted her dress "all alone" she completed

"So you could explain how you got here"

"The carriage I boarded broke its wheels......"

"And you decided that the forest was a good place to take a stroll" he concluded

"Noo, I decided to walk to town"

"Wow,seems like you love walking then"

"Its just that I didn't have enough money to board another carriage"

He paused for some seconds staring at her before shifting his gaze to the rabbit in the cage

"You love your rabbit well... I mean you literally left your luggage behind and still held on to it"

"I guess so"

"And I think that's what the wolves were after"

"They were chasing me..... And why aren't they growling at you?"

"Isn't it obvious, they are mine"

"Hmmn...well thanks for saving my life"

"I never intended on doing so" he said and started walking with the wolves following closely

"May I know your name" she asked

"Isn't it right to ask after giving yours"

"Hazel Harlow, I'm from Bougreve"

"Bougreve?"

'Yes"

"What brings you to Borreve then?"

"Conditions... So what's yours"

"You'll find out later"

"How?I'm sure I aren't going to meet you again"

"Don't worry about that"

"It isn't fair, I told you mine"

"And I said you'll find out mine soon"

That continued walking with Hazel behind them keeping a very good distance between herself and the wolves,soon that reached a fenced wall and the wolves ran in

"They stay here?"

"Yes"

"Ohhh...could you show me the way out of here, I'm actually lost"

"And your luggage"

"I Dont think I'll be able to find it"

"Come"

Hazel was shocked when he stretched his hands towards her but she still took it and immediately they apparated to where her luggage was

"H-how d-did y-you d-do t-that" she shuttered

"Pick your luggage and let me help you to town"

"Your a vampire?!!!"

"You never asked"

For Hazel, this was the first time she was seeing a vampire this close, she had only taken a glimpse of them and not interact with them

"And moreover,you are in our lands so expect to see more of our kind here" he completed. Hazel carried her luggage as they apparated to town

"I suggest this is where your going"

"Yeah, thank you"

"Hmmn" and he disappeared from the crowd. She just stared at the empty space where he occupied, he was a vampire and he didn't kill her or at least that's what they believed, if a human come across a vampire, it was a sure death. Maybe there were good and bad vampires but she never heard of vampires being able to apparate.

She later carried her luggage with relles still by her side and walked into the town, she sighted an inn and as she got there, she was told a night there was two silver coins, she paid and hoped that she could find a job soon. She packed her things into the room given to her where there was a small bed and a bathroom inside. She collapsed on the bed as she was tired from the journey. That night she wrote a letter asking to be a maid and as it was in Bougreve, all letters will first go to the Lord before going downwards.

The next morning, she gave the letters to the passing carriage they usually comes for letters, her breakfast was brought to her room and she ate it all cause she was hungry. She didn't go out cause she was sure she would meet vampires out there which she wasn't prepared for,so she stayed indoors throughout the day
