Chapter 4

Jessica Morgan was dragged to the main entrance of the villa. No matter how much she shouted, no one paid attention to her. She was forced to kneel in front of Amanda Morgan, crying so hard that her face was streaked with tears.

"Amanda, don't hit me, don't-" She wiped her tears and curled up in fear.

Amanda smiled disdainfully and said, "Beat her, especially her mouth. Slap her hard!"

At H&L Enterprises, Luke Hamilton's phone suddenly rang. He looked at the caller ID and pressed the answer button.

"Uncle Marcus."

"Luke, I heard that you were with the girl from the Morgan family a few days ago? Bring her here today so I can have a look!" Marcus Hamilton's mellow voice came from the other end of the line.

Luke's face was cold. "I will give Jessica some compensation. As for getting married, it's impossible."

"You brat!" Marcus scolded. "You've taken the girl's virginity, and you still don't agree to marry her?"

Luke touched his forehead. "Uncle, I have no feelings for her. Besides, I promised I would marry her when she returned from advanced studies."

"No feelings can be cultivated. Take that girl to see me immediately, or don't come back!" Marcus snorted and quickly hung up.

Listening to the busy tone in his ear, Luke's gloomy face was almost dripping with water. He lowered his head and continued working. The assistant pushed the door open and came in.

"Mr. Hamilton, I've found out something about what you asked me to investigate. It's true that Miss Jessica didn't poison her. The mastermind behind the scenes should be Sarah Johnson, Miss Jessica's stepmother."

When this truth was revealed, Luke's heart sank. Jessica's innocent face flashed across his mind, and he felt a little guilty. Was it him who had misunderstood her?

He pursed his thin lips and whispered, "Prepare the car and go to the Morgan family."

Jessica was slapped three times in a row. Although she had taken the opportunity to avoid some damage, it was still painful. She tried hard to take a deep breath, trying hard not to resist. She couldn't overthrow the Morgan family yet. She had to wait!

At this time, a Rolls-Royce Phantom arrived in a hurry and stopped in front of Jessica. The door of the back seat opened, and the first thing they saw were two long legs stepping out. Luke was surrounded by a piercingly cold aura. His gaze landed on the small group on the ground. His eyes paused.

As if she had seen her savior, Jessica climbed up and hugged Luke's thigh. "Luke, save me, please..." She cried so hard that her nose and tears flowed down his legs.

Luke frowned. He was obviously a little disgusted. He moved twice but failed to break free. He simply grabbed her collar and pulled her up. He turned to look at the servants in the distance.

"Who gave you the courage?" he asked, his handsome face exceptionally cold.

The servants took a step back at the same time. "It was Miss Amanda."

However, Amanda had just said that she would go upstairs to take a nap and ask them to take good care of Jessica. But now...

"Luke, why are you here?" A laughing voice rang out. Sarah Johnson walked over gracefully with a pleasing smile on her face.

Luke looked at Sarah coldly and said indifferently, "I need an explanation."

Sarah rolled her eyes and turned to look at the maid who was beating Jessica. "Hannah, what's wrong? Did Jessica do something wrong again?" She was talking to the maid.

The maid suddenly understood and nodded. "Yes, she pushed Amanda downstairs. Amanda has sprained her ankle, and she is still resting upstairs!"

As soon as she told the truth, Jessica hid behind Luke and shot Sarah a glare.
