Chapter 5 Family's Disgrace

Pretty quickened her pace to get away from the man who had kidnapped her. Still feeling pain in her core, she could only bear it because she didn't want to see the man who had ruined her life. She ran and ran as far as she could, eventually deciding to descend the stairs to the ground floor.

"It hurts so much!" Pretty groaned, stepping slowly while trying to endure the pain.

Meanwhile, Luiz had lost track of Pretty. He looked around but couldn't find the girl, so he had to search every patient room.

"This is bad, if I don't find her, the boss will definitely scold me," Luiz muttered.

Pretty, who was running away, finally reached the ground floor and immediately walked towards the large door.

Once outside, she struggled to keep going, leaving the hospital behind.

"What will happen to my life now? David will definitely not want to marry me anymore, and Dad and Mom will be furious with me. My life was ruined in one night by a man whose face I don't even know. Why did all of this have to happen to me? All this time, my parents never loved me, and they only wanted me to marry David for the sake of the family business. I thought this would make my life better, but now it's impossible. I can't face them anymore!" Pretty thought to herself.

After walking a considerable distance, Pretty stopped because of the pain in her newly stitched area. She sat down in a large park where many people were passing by.

"How can I go home in this condition? I can't lie either. If I hide this and David finds out one day, he will definitely be furious," Pretty murmured.

That afternoon, Pretty just sat there crying, her heart shattered into pieces. She cried for hours without stopping, the incident becoming a nightmare for her.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Jack found out that his fiancée had disappeared, making him furious with Luiz once again.

"You couldn't even manage to watch over a single girl!" Jack snapped angrily, landing a punch on his subordinate's face.

SMACK...

"Sorry, Boss," Luiz apologized, bowing his head.

"You never do anything I tell you to do correctly!" Jack retorted coldly.

"Daniel, send all our men to find that girl, and don't stop until you get her!" Jack ordered firmly.

"Yes, Boss," Daniel replied.

"Pretty Jolie, you won't be able to run away from me!" Jack muttered as he walked away from the hospital.

Jack ordered his men to search for Pretty, scouring the entire hospital and nearby areas, but they couldn't find her. Meanwhile, Pretty, who was feeling disappointed and sad, walked unsteadily towards her home.

When she arrived in front of her family's luxurious house, she stood there, hesitant to step inside.

"How am I supposed to tell my family about what happened? All this time, Dad and Mom have hated me. Every time I argue with my sister, they always blame me," Pretty thought.

Pretty then gathered the courage to step inside the large door of her home. As she entered, her mother scolded her with a displeased look on her face.

"Pretty, you didn't come home last night. Where have you been?" her mother snapped in a high tone.

"Mom, last night I..." Pretty replied, unable to be honest.

"Sis, why are you wearing a hospital patient's clothes? Don't tell me you spent the night there?" asked Pretty's sister, Monica.

"Pretty, did you cause trouble again out there, so you ended up in the hospital?" asked Pretty's father, Albert.

"No! It's not like that, Dad!" Pretty replied, feeling hurt by her parents' words.

"Pretty, whatever the reason, you shouldn't have slept outside last night. If something happened to you, where would it leave our family's reputation? You should know better as a young woman not to disgrace your family!" her mother snapped.

"Last night, I was hit by a car, that's why I had to stay in the hospital!" Pretty explained, feeling heartbroken that her family didn't care about her at all.

"Julia, that's enough! Just leave her alone. Besides, if she really did cause trouble, we can just kick her out," Albert said, looking at his wife.

"Dad, Mom, I'm your daughter too. Why don't you ask me if I'm hurt or not?" Pretty asked, tears streaming down her face.

"You're not a child anymore, Pretty. We shouldn't have to ask; you should take care of yourself and not ruin the family's good name!" Julia replied indifferently.

"But why do you care so much when my sister is sick, but not about me? I'm your daughter too, after all," Pretty asked.

"You're different from your sister. Your sister has always been able to help run the family business, but you are completely useless!" Albert said coldly, not caring about his daughter's feelings.

"Dad, that's not fair. You never allowed me to work at your company. Every time I asked, you always refused and wanted me to stay home and do all the chores. We're both your daughters, and I don't eat and sleep here for free. I work at another company and use my salary to pay the electricity bill for this house, Dad," Pretty said sadly.
