Chapter 4 The Contact Name Was Accidentally Exposed

If the person on the other end agreed, the challenge would be completed, but they couldn't give any hints.

While the others were preparing, I was thinking about who could lend me 500, 000 dollars.

Most of my friends were outside the industry, working diligently and not making that much money.

After much thought, I had only two choices, Nolan Miller or Jasper.

My brother, who was a toptier star, shared my mom's last name, so no one realized we were siblings. Instead, everyone thought I adored him.

The audience would definitely recognize Nolan's voice.

Jasper, on the other hand, had only appeared on one variety show, and even then, he didn't have many scenes.

After weighing my options, I decided to call Jasper.

His nickname in my contacts was Doberman.

At first, Jasper was really cold to me, but once we started having a relationship, he became clingy, just like a Doberman.

I didn't want anyone to know I was having a relationship with Jasper, so I kept this name as a cover.

But the cameraman had sharp eyes and zoomed right in on my phone.

Everyone around started teasing me, and I could only hope that Jasper wouldn't answer.

In just a few seconds, his voice came through.

"Baby, what's up?"

Jasper was definitely doing it on purpose. I had told him I was filming a variety show today.

I cleared my throat and pretended to stay calm while delivering my lines.

"Can you lend me 500, 000 dollars? I want to book an entire restaurant."

He seemed to be thinking it over, remaining silent for half a minute before responding.

"Who are you inviting to dinner?"

"That's not important. Are you lending it to me or not?"

"Try begging me sweetly, and I'll think about it."

I couldn't take it anymore and snapped at him.

"Why don't you just spend the rest of your life with your money, you stubborn man?"

As soon as I finished speaking, my Paypal notification chimed-500, 000 dollars had been transferred.

I completed my task, but it felt like I lost something more.

Everyone was now giving me strange looks, and someone even asked, "Charlotte, was that Jasper just now? His voice sounded familiar. Are you two that close?"

I had underestimated Jasper's popularity. To the public, he was the ultimate bachelor, so he did attract a lot of attention.

"No way, how could a small fry like me deserve that?"

I prayed that this scene would be edited out, but not only did the production team leave it in, they even zoomed in on the nickname with a magnifying box icon.

The day the show aired, I was trending again. Unsurprisingly, the comments were full of criticism.

"Charlotte is suspected of two-timing, juggling both a boyfriend and a sugar daddy."

"One young man and one old man. Charlotte is really something."

"Using one man's money to support another man."

At least this time, I found some comfort in the fact that no one had figured out it was Jasper.

But as I scrolled down, someone had made the connection.

"Wait, don't you think the voice sounds like Jasper? I compared it to the previous audio. They sound like the same person."

"Yeah, the voice is familiar. His voice is so deep and magnetic. I even recorded it once."

After what happened last time, I knew Jasper would probably have this trending topic removed, so I decided to let them discuss it for a while longer to increase my exposure.

I casually ate watermelon and read my script, seeing the negative comments as if they were piles of cash, completely unfazed.

But three days later, I was still trending in the top spots.

On the fourth day, I couldn't take it anymore and called Jasper.

"Did you see the trending topics?"

"Yes, I did."

"Then why haven't you removed them yet?"

"They're saying I'm your boyfriend. Why should I remove them?"

He was so logical. It was hard to argue.

When filming for the new drama began, I saw Jasper again on set.
