Chapter 2 The basement

Chapter 2

Rin walked with food in her hands, but chains were still attached to her wrists and ankles.

She was on her way to Supremo's office because she had been ordered to bring him food, as he was busy with a lot of work.

Since Rin was imprisoned in the basement, a day had passed, and Supremo made her his servant. The only thing in Supremo's mind was to make Rin his servant and make her suffer.

He ignored the beating of his heart; all he wanted was for Rin to suffer at his hands until the time came when Rin would end her own life.

When she reached the door of Supremo's office, she knocked three times before entering. Despite her fear of Supremo, she had no choice. She was afraid that if she disobeyed, Supremo would make good on his threat to chain her outside the house and make her sleep there, even in the cold.

She knew how weak her body was and how low her stamina was; even the slightest chill would give her a fever.

She entered slowly.

"S-Supremo, here is your food," she said, her voice soft but still carrying a hint of gentleness.

Supremo only glanced at her coldly before returning to his reading. Rin carefully placed the food on a small table.

"I-I'll be going now," she said, bowing her head and about to turn away, but Supremo spoke.

"Clean those shelves," he said coldly, pointing to the bookcases, which were in disarray with books scattered all over the floor.

"Yes, sir."

Rin immediately approached to begin cleaning. Seeing the mess of books scattered around, she estimated that it would take her several hours. She wasn't sure if she could manage, given how quickly her body tired.

The problem worsened due to the heavy chains attached to her wrists and ankles.

Rin began organizing and cleaning the books while Supremo watched her with a cold gaze.

Before he ordered her to bring him food, Supremo had deliberately knocked over the bookcases, scattering countless books across the floor for Rin to clean up.

He wanted to make things difficult for her.

After an hour, Rin was drenched in sweat, and her white blouse was slightly wet, revealing her collarbone as the top button had come undone.

When she was about to place five books she was holding on the shelf, her vision blurred, and she was about to collapse. But a strong arm wrapped around her waist.

The books fell, but Rin leaned against the chest of the person who caught her, preventing her from falling.

"F*ck" the person cursed sharply after realizing that Rin had fainted, as her weight sagged against him.

He quickly lifted her and laid her on the bed in the room.

As he looked down at Rin, a desire started to awaken within him. Her slightly parted rose-colored lips and exposed collarbone in her unbuttoned blouse stirred something within him.

Unable to resist, he quickly went to the restroom to release the tension that had built up.

While Supremo sat down, he discreetly watched Rin, noticing how she struggled to carry the heavy books.

As time passed, Rin began to sweat from the exertion, and when Supremo looked at her again, her collarbone was slightly visible.

He quickly averted his gaze, but his ears were turning red.

When he looked at Rin again, she seemed utterly exhausted, as if she might faint at any moment. Her eyes were drooping with fatigue.

As Rin stood up to place the books she was holding on the shelf, she lost her balance as her vision blurred, but before she could hit the ground, Supremo quickly moved to catch her.

Though he wouldn't admit it, he didn't like seeing Rin suffer. However, he wanted to get back at her for defying him-or rather, the soul that had possessed Rin's body had defied him.

A few days passed, but Supremo continued to make Rin suffer.

Rin had just woken up; it was nearly six in the morning. She immediately took a bath and dressed in an oversized t-shirt that reached her knees.

The clothes Supremo gave her were all old and too large, so sometimes they reached her knees or even beyond.

She quickly left the basement and headed to the kitchen to cook and bring food to Supremo.

After she finished cooking, she immediately brought the food to Supremo.

She wanted to eat, but she dared not, fearing Supremo's wrath or, worse, that he might hurt her. So, she chose to go hungry.

In the few days that had passed, Rin had noticeably lost weight. During those days, Supremo grew more puzzled as to why Rin seemed so different from when they had fought.

So today, Supremo decided to summon a sorcerer to find out the truth.

By afternoon, the sorcerer Supremo had called for arrived. Rin was sitting by the stairs, her stomach growling with hunger.

Since she had woken up that morning, she had barely eaten because Supremo had forbidden it.

"You brat, come here," Supremo's voice sent chills down Rin's spine as she heard him call her.

She held onto the wall for support as she stood up, her vision slightly blurry.

She quickly walked over to Supremo.

"Sit."

She sat beside Supremo, revealing her pale legs. Supremo quickly looked away before signaling the sorcerer to begin.

"Ahem, may I hold your hand?" the old man asked. Rin immediately offered her hand to the elderly man.

He closed his eyes as if searching for something, uttering words in a language Rin couldn't understand.

Suddenly, his hand began to glow, which amazed Rin. After a while, the light faded, and the sorcerer slowly released Rin's hand.

He looked at Supremo, ready to speak.

"Supremo, she wasn't the one who fought you," the old man said, furrowing Supremo's brow at the sorcerer's words.

"This is Rin, the true owner of this body. The one who fought you was a wandering soul that possessed her body, and it was this soul that brought Rin's body to this world. Yes, Supremo, this girl is a mortal. She has no idea what happened to her because when she woke up, she was already in the world of vampires," the sorcerer explained at length.

"The wandering soul was expelled from her body due to the power that overwhelmed her during your confrontation. So, Supremo, I can tell you that this girl is innocent; she was merely caught in the middle. I urge you to take care of her, as she is different from the others," the sorcerer continued, deepening the frown on Supremo's face.

Meanwhile, Rin seemed on the verge of fainting.

"What I mean to say, Supremo, is that this girl has the ability to bear children. So please, take good care of her. I'll be going now, Supremo," the sorcerer concluded, surprising Supremo with his words.

He was startled when something bumped against his arm, and when he looked, he saw that it was Rin, who had fainted, her stomach growling.

Supremo's eyebrows furrowed as he realized that she hadn't been eating properly since that morning..

Supremo brought Rin to a clean room, no longer in the basement.

From the beginning, he knew something was wrong because he sensed a different presence the first time they met.

Rin's presence was stronger due to the wandering soul.

However, it changed when Rin lost consciousness after the fight, and when he woke up, his presence had weakened, making Supremo feel no threat from him.

Supremo left the room and ordered a maid to prepare and cook some food and soup.

Afterward, Supremo himself brought the food to the room where Rin was sleeping.

He placed it on a small table and sat facing Rin.

He stared intently at him and could only say one thing:

"He's truly innocent."

Slowly and gently, he touched Rin's cheek.

Rin immediately stirred and grabbed Supremo's hand, but what truly surprised Supremo was when Rin... put his thumb in his mouth.

Supremo felt the wetness, warmth, and softness of Rin's tongue.

He gently moved his finger inside Rin's mouth. After a moment, he withdrew
