Chapter 5 A problem

The next morning,

She woke up with puffy eyes. She had cried all night. Looking around the big room, she quickly moved away from the big bed. She noticed that her belongings had been brought to the room, but as she searched through her bag, her phone was not there. How can she call her father and tell him about the problem she has encountered? She cried, thinking about it, but stopped immediately when she heard a loud knock on the door.

She became even more terrified as the knock kept getting louder, but still she couldn't move closer to open it. All of a sudden, the door opened. "Have you gone mad? Didn't you hear the knocks?" The housekeeper screamed, but Amelia was just looking quietly with her face all sweaty.

Seeing that she wasn't saying a word, the housekeeper also sighed before dropping a pair of clothes, which she recognized as the clothes the full-time maids wear, on the bed. "You only have fifteen minutes." The woman said before leaving the room.

She kept looking at the clothes with tears in her eyes. She had always wanted to be full-time for a few months because of the pay, but this was not how she wanted it. She didn't wish to be trapped against her will. She walked into the bathroom, took her bath, and wore the clothes to go downstairs before the woman would come back.

As she walked out of the room, she saw the maids already cleaning and doing their respective work. She felt so embarrassed as she walked into their midst. She could even hear them gossiping about her. "Look at her. Such a smart one. She managed to upgrade her status so fast." But she didn't do anything or turn towards them.

She was about to get to the sitting room when she saw the housekeeper. "Listen to me. I don't have time to waste, so it's better you listen." The woman said before walking towards the dining room, to which Amelia also followed her without a word.

"You might think serving the Alpha is the greatest thing, and I know girls like you. You need to know that everything about the Alpha is scheduled. Even the time he eats." She said, looking at her with disgust before saying, "You must wake up early in the morning every day, and his breakfast must be ready by seven in the morning."

Amelia was shocked. She thought she had heard wrong. "Is that also part of my job?" She asked, to which the woman only scoffed. "Did you just ask me that? Can you believe this girl?" The woman said this, making the other maids in the room look towards their sides.

"You didn't know you would do that before you stole people's jobs." Hearing her say this, Amelia already knew what her problem was. She remembered that it was only the housekeeper that made and served the Alpha's food, and now that he had assigned her as his personal maid, things had changed. She knew she must leave the house immediately. There was no way she could stay and cope with such.

The housekeeper kept looking at her in disbelief. She didn't understand why the Alpha would suddenly make her his personal maid, and she knew something was wrong and she must get to the bottom of it. Just when she was about to say something else, a maid walked up to her. "Ms. Jones, the plumber wants to see you. He's done with the leak."

"OK. I'm coming." The woman replied before looking back at Amelia. "Stay here."

Amelia looked at her as she walked away with the maid. Suddenly she became alert; she had to leave. She looked around her only to see the maids doing their jobs without paying attention to her. "You need to leave Amelia. You can't let him trap you here." She thought as tears ran down her eyes, but she quietly wiped them off and walked out of the room without looking back at the maids. She knew she had to find a way to leave before the housekeeper would come back.

On getting outside the house, she saw that it was empty of people as usual, but she knew that the guards were walking around, and any of them might see her soon. Looking around, she thought of how to escape but couldn't find any way.

There was no way she could climb the fence. She will eventually get caught. She cried even more as she thought of giving up and going back inside, but as she turned around to leave, her eyes suddenly caught something. A van. And with the look of it. It belongs to a plumber. "The leak. A plumber must have come to fix a leak." She thought as she quickly walked towards the car.

She was so scared, but she knew she had to try something. Looking at the trunk, she knew her fate only lied with the car. If it's locked, she's definitely locked in the house, and if it's not locked, she can escape.

With all her mustered courage and hope, she touched the knob to pull it open, and as fate would have it, it opened. She was so happy. She quickly crawled inside and closed it back, not caring if she would later get caught, but what she didn't know was that someone was watching her every move.

A few hours later, it was already getting dark, but not too dark, when he came home. Walking into the house with his assistant behind him, he saw the housekeeper in the living room walking up and down. "What's all this, Ms. Jones? Have you suddenly grown wings to disobey me?" He screamed, but the woman quickly apologized. She knew she wasn't allowed in the house by that time, given the fact that he had a new personal maid.

"I'm sorry, Alpha, but there's a problem."
