Chapter 4 The First Anomaly

Emily studied the temporal map, her mind racing with the complexity of the time stream. Lady Victoria had given her a crucial task: to identify and correct the first anomaly, a event that had altered the course of history.

As she focused on the map, a specific date and location began to glow: November 5, 1605, London, England. Emily recognized the significance of the date – the Gunpowder Plot, a failed assassination attempt against King James I.

But something was off. The map indicated that the event had been altered, and Emily saw a name associated with the anomaly: Thomas Percy, one of the conspirators.

Lady Victoria appeared beside her, as if sensing Emily's thoughts. "Ah, yes. Thomas Percy. A curious case. He was not supposed to survive the plot, but he did. And his actions afterwards changed the course of history."

Emily's eyes widened as she grasped the implications. "What do I need to do?"

"You must go back in time and ensure that Thomas Percy does not survive the plot," Lady Victoria instructed. "But be warned, Emily, the timeline is fragile. Any changes you make will have unintended consequences. You must be precise."

With a deep breath, Emily touched the locket and focused on the date and location. The room began to spin, and she felt herself being pulled through time and space.

As she materialized in the midst of the Gunpowder Plot, Emily knew she had to act quickly. The fate of history rested on her shoulders.
