Raven
After applying my light pink lipstick, I turned to my assistant, who I could tell had been checking me out this whole time.
"How is this" I muttered, pointing at my lips.
"Beh b..bb.. beautiful madam," he started to stutter, nervously running his hand over his neck, I've noticed that he always does that when he is nervous.
Timothy is such a goof which is also one of the reasons I chose him to be my personal assistant, he keeps me entertained.
Oops! Not that kind of entertainment where he takes off my undies using his teeth or something like that. As much as I would like to ignite that he is very handsome, young, hardworking and quite a good boy would make a good lover.
I would have had him in bed already but you see am not that kind of woman, am a busy woman, work is my only joy in life. Plus I don't do boys am older than though it's only a two year difference, nothing big.
"What's in that book? You seemto always carry it every where" I asked looking around, admiring the beautiful rooftop venue I had reserved for our little catch up dinner, I bet Mr. Coven was going to love it. The air here was just so refreshing plus it was a good spot to stare at the lovely moon.
I held out my hand patiently waiting for my cute assistant to hand me his notebook.
"Madam I...I.."
Too bad! He did'nt't know that it was useless for him to get nervous because I already saw the amazing poetry he wrote about me.
I snatched the book away from him, opened to the back and started reading loudly, "Eyes like an angels so bright they light up the whole world, lips as ripe as a cheery, so small, so sweet so beautiful, I wish I could get a chance to have a taste..." I stopped there not wanting to go more into his fantasies.
Poor Timothy, I liked the way he was blushing like a 14 year old that just had his first kiss stolen by a girl. So sweet, not to mention funny, this is what I mean by entertainment.
"Am so ..sorry.. ma'am"
I like it whenever he stutters because of me, it let's me know howmuch power I do have over him.
"Oh sweetie," I made a rhythmic pause before walking over to him and grabbed his tie, pulling him closer to myself.
"Ahhh," he swallowed hard, started to blink his eyes and turned to look at the floor avoiding eye contact with me. He's just so funny. He's my little plaything.
"It's okay. I love your poetry, it's amazing. Which ever girl you will use it on will be very lucky," I smiled, slowly patted on his shoulders before turning to the bulge in front of his pants. He covered it up with his hands, I bet he felt so embarrassed.
"Sorry ma'am."
I did'nt mind the way he was making me blush. I just felt so happy for any girl that would get to marry him not every boy survives college saving himself for his future wife but this one did.
Again I gave him one of my many charming smiles. "It's alright honey, go fix it up after you're done, you could just head home and prepare for tomorrow. We have a long day tomorrow."
"Okay, ma'am" he nodded in that obedient way of his before walking out, note book still covering his pants. I just love to tease him.
Just after he had disappeared, I caught sight of my father in law walking in. The man seemed to always a smell of power and elegance all over him just like his son. Though Trevor is a bit corky and arrogant which his dad is'nt't.
I slowly approached Mr. Kinsley with a warm smile, my heart pounding with anticipation.
"Hello, father," I greeted him with a gentle hug, feeling his familiar embrace and the affectionate kisses on each cheek. Sometimes having him this close reminds me of my deceased parents most especially my mom Beverly Ravenswood, she was a lovely lady. I don't like to talk too much about my dad because of the things he did but that does'nt't mean I don't love him. Forgiveness was meant for everyone, no matter how badly they hurt you.
"Dad, it's so lovely to see you," I said, my voice filled with genuine warmth. "I've missed our conversations. How have you been?"
Mr. Kinsley returned my smile, his eyes crinkling with a mix of joy and concern. "Rae, my dear, it's always a pleasure to see you. Thedoctors told me to have some rest after the attack but now am doing well my little Phoenix. How about you? How has work been treating you?"
I took my seat gracefully, my eyes meeting with my father in law's as I adjusted my posture. "Oh, you know how it is, dad," I replied, my tone filled with a hint of weariness. Now it was the time to put my acting skills from the high school drama club into use.
"Work can be challenging, but dad there is something bothering me. I've tried to take it off my mind but I just can't."
Mr. Kinsley furrowed his brow, his curiosity piqued. "Something bothering you? Do tell me more, honey. You know you don't have to hide anything from me. Please do tell me, dear."
My lips curved into a sly smile, my eyes glimmering with a mix of excitement and calculated intent. Mr. Coven Kinsley was my only chance to laying my hands on those files.
"Well, dad, it's a new contract, a chance for growth and success. But Trevor seems hesitant to let me handle it and I can't bear the thought of missing out on this opportunity."
Mr. Kinsley's concern deepened as he leaned in closer, his voice filled with a paternal concern. I know how so much he cares for me, after all he has not just been a god father to me, he has also been a replacement for my parents ever since they passed away, he has been doing a great job.
"Rae, my dear, I understand your drive, but rushing into things may not be the best approach. Have you discussed this with Trevor? Perhaps he has valid reasons for his hesitation."
My eyes flickered with a mix of frustration and determination. "Oh, dad, I've tried. I've tried to reason with him, but he just does'nt't seem to see the bigger picture. That's why I was hoping you could talk to him, help him understand how important this is to me."
He sighed, his gaze shifting to his phone. "Dear, I'll do what I can, but I can't force him into anything. Let's enjoy this evening together, I promise I will talk to him."
"Okay dad," I forced a smile on my face. I only hoped Mr. Kinsley would do as promised because I sodesperately needed to have those files in my hands.
"Any way, dear, so tell me how is home, lately?"
"Home is great, dad, just that..."
