I didn't plan to live with Natalia anymore, so I took some time to go back and pack up the rest of my belongings.
Natalia came back when I was packing.
At the sight of me, she said crossly, "I sent you messages in the past few days. Why didn't you reply?"
I answered, "Too busy. No one is supporting me. I have to make money. Or how am I supposed to live on?"
"What's so good about your job?"
There was a trace of disdain on her face while she remarked.
I wasn't in the mood to talk to her and continued to pack up.
Seeing me keep silent, she failed to hold back her demands.
"I've used up all my brushes and pigments. Go and buy them for me today."
I remembered that I saw her giving these things to her classmate in the monitor yesterday.
"If my memory serves me right, I have prepared all these for you half a month ago."
"You should know there are a few particularly poor students in my class. To ease their burdens, I have given them to those students. You can buy the same ones."
She took it for granted and instantly ignited my anger.
I sneered in mockery, "Think you are still a daughter of a rich family? You are indeed generous."
She looked at me disapprovingly. "We don't have so much money now, but it's always easier for us to make money than them. What's wrong with helping them? Can you be kind? How can you be so selfish?"
I laughed out of anger again.
I was the one making money, and she didn't need to do anything but thought it was easy.
"You are right. I'm selfish. You are not. Why don't you make money yourself but rely on me? You spend the money I've earned and used it to show your kindness to others. How shameless!"
My ruthless words embarrassed and angry Natalia.
"You insisted on buying those things. What's it to me? I never ask you to do anything for me. Don't blame me for anything. It has nothing to do with me."
"Right. I only have myself to blame. I won't do that again. Besides, all the money I earned is dirty. How can I have the nerve to spend it on you? I can't stain you."
I quickly packed up everything that belonged to me.
Before leaving, I emphasized, "Don't worry. From now on, I will never force you to spend a penny of my money."
Natalia wanted to say something but stopped on a second thought. Her face turned red with anger.
Looking at her aggrieved face, I felt relieved.
On the way back to the company, I received another call from Natalia.
As soon as I swiped to answer, she impatiently said, "Why didn't you pay the rent? It's time to pay it. How can you let the landlord to ask me for money at the door? How embarrassing! Wire him the money. Now!"
"Don't you think my money is dirty? Don't you feel upset staying in the house I rent?"
Natalia gritted her teeth to hold back her anger and said, "Don't forget you also live in this house."
"Not anymore. I'm really a fool. My company has provided me a place to live for free, but I still spent money to rent a house. Pay the rent yourself if you want to stay there. Natalia, since you have the money to do charity, you should afford the rent. You won't spend my dirty money shamelessly, will you?"
Finally, Natalia ended the call in anger.
