Chapter 4 A FAMILY DIVIDED

Aurora made her way to the backyard where she knows her father was.

The 58 year old man was busy clearing his small farm so as to plant more vegetables and fruits.

On sighting his daughter coming towards him,He smiled and pause what he was doing.

"Baby!" He called and Aurora threw herself to him not minding how dirty her fathers hand is.

"Father...please I want to ask a favor from you"

Vincent smiles and kiss her jet black hair.

He would have touched her hair if not for how dirty his hands were.

Aurora snuggled more closer to her father as she blink rapidly,she pray that her father will accept her request.

"What favor do my precious daughter wants from me" Vincent said and Aurora look up to him.

She gave him a puppy dog look as she pout her small pink lips.

"Father... you remember today is Princess Arianna's birthday right?"

"Of course baby girl.... and I know you won't trade her birthday party for anything. That's why you're always permitted to go there!"

Aurora took in a sharp breath and squeeze her face. "Father!" She blinked again.

"Baby I can't go with you today.. you know how busy I am!"

"Yh... I know... that's why I want my brother to follow me"

On the mentioned of Her brother, the smile on his face wiped off. "Aurora "

Tears began welling at her eye,, she knows the next word her father will say. "Father Please!" She begged.

"No!" He said and let go off his daughter. " if that is the favor you want from me... I'm sorry Baby girl,, it can't work out!". He muttered coldly.

"Father I want my brother.... Please Father.... set my brother free just for today" she continued begging but was ignored by her father.

The tears welling at her eye began falling and what followed was a loud wail. " Father please " she choked out as she fiddle with her fingers.

Vincent felt his heart pierced at his daughters cries but he can't do anything.

Micheal isn't gonna step outside this building,Not when he's still alive.

He lost his son 17 years ago, to a beast.

For 17 Damn good years... A beast is living inside of his son.

He can remember when he travelled to a faraway village with his son Micheal to visit a Shaman!

He's main purpose was to get rid of the Evil beast dwelling inside his son.

He went with full Hope,and came back with Hope crushed.

He could vividly remember the Shaman's word.

"I'm sorry Mr Ottai... but the spirit inside your son can't be easily Eliminated!. He have took part of your son's soul and body! Which made the both 1"The shaman said as he rang his bell.

"No!!!... We have to do it... I will pay any price.. just get ride of the beast.... My life and that of my family will be in danger if we get caught!" Vincent pleaded desperately.

Little Micheal was just staring at his father back to the shaman... not knowing or understand what the duos were talking.

The Shaman rang his bells again.. and began speaking to the spirit.

He eye snapped open a smile gazing his lips. "There is a way out"

"Oh thank you!... Oh!" Vincent said with happiness. "Can I please know the way out?"

The shaman looked at little Micheal, then back to his father. " He have to die" He nod at Michael.

"What!!!"

"You wanted the beast out right?" Vincent nod his head,his heart beat increased. "We have to kill him. Once the host dies... The spirit disappears " The Shaman explained and began ringing his bells again.

Vincent began shaking his head. He can't imagine killing his own son just to cast out lui Kang spirit out of him.

"It's a hard decision which comes with a threat... if you don't kill the host Now!... You won't be able to do that in the Future!"

The word keep echoing in his ear...

"Vincent!" Abby's voice snapped her husband out of his thoughts.

"Abby!" He turn to her and met her standing with Aurora who had tears smeared on her pretty face.

"Abby!" He called again knowing the main reason why she was here.

"Let my son Go with his sister"

"No Abby.... we can't!"

"Let him Go!" Abby snapped at her husband. " Your overprotective character is becoming irritating this days." She said coldly and Aurora held her arms.

Vincent shook his head in disapproval. "Abby this is our lives we're talking about.... our son life.. We can't just let the cover blow up "

"For years ... Micheal have been torn apart from his sister... you kept him locked in his room... "

"Abby..... don't .... Say that!"

Abby turned to her daughter. " Go my girl... I give you the approval.."

"Really!" Aurora eyes was already brimming with happiness.

"Yh" she smiled at her daughter who jumped out of happiness and hugged her.

"Thank you Mummy" she utters happily.

She cast her Father a mean look before skipping away.

Now leaving the Couples to themselves.

"You shouldn't have done that Abby!" Vincent mumbled already boiling in anger.

"Didn't you see her happiness... the happiness of finally walking down the street with her brother ?"

"Abby.... her brother is long dead... can't you see... we're both living with a beast!"

"My son... is not a BEAST!" Abby corrected with a scowl.. tears already clouded her vision.

"Micheal is gone Abby.... you have to get that inside your skull... why can't you just reason the fact that our stupidity cost our son's life" Vincent growled at her as he angrily drop the hoe he was holding and match up to his wife. "My son... our son ain't going anywhere!" Vincent said with a tone of finality and began walking.

Abby chuckled with a bloodshot eye and turn to his retreating figure."Tell me... why didn't you kill him when you had the chance to!" Abby yelled halting his movement.
